My friend needs some prayers for her DGS

This was in an e-mail I got from my friend today. Her DGS is only 6 and in Kindergarten. Would you say a prayer for him if your so inclined.

Please pray for Cynthia's #4 child, Joel--he has Ecoli and is a very sick little boy, pray that he doesn't produce a toxin in the next 3 to 5 days-if he does it will not be good. God is able! and we are trusting Him.

Oh good gosh!I hate to hear this. What happened Leslie, do you know? Are his kidney's affected like Maddie's were with HUS?

Hi petaloid, thanks for your help. I've talked with my friend and gotten some more information. The original part of the house was an old farmstead built sometime between 1900 and 1910 she thinks it may have been planted by the original owners but she isn't sure. Here's some more info she gave me on the rose. blooms in the spring and again in the fall 3 feet high and wide sends up suckers about 2 feet from the original all the time 2 inch blooms in clusters and singles nice fragrance VERY thorny She's going to take some more pictures for me too. I'll post them as soon as I get them. I've emailed her all your suggestions with a link to HMF so she can take a look and see if any of them look right to her. I've just been working with this one picture too and didn't find anything but there are so many to look at. I don't think it's a rugosa because she says the leaves are fairly smooth and since it reblooms that rules out a galica too. I was looking at species roses but the ones I looked at were singles and this has a good petal count. Thanks again for all your help.

I'd tell her she better go and snoop herself. Why would she send you instead of doing it herself anyway? And, why would he leave a prescription for Viagra laying around/wouldn't it be at the drug store or in his wallet? What could you tell from the "phone records" without doing a little more research? Don't they have a trash service at his office...or does it just not get taken out if he is out of town? Why wasn't your friend waiting with baited breath to see what you found if she knew you were going to be snooping? Guess I have more questions than answers to give you. Anyway, offer to watch her kids, and tell her she better go take a look herself.

I say prayers for everyone in that situation whenever I am reminded of them. Like I said, I was only at the blood center and the families and friends all touched my life. It was scary at times, especially when he had a fungal infection that was not responding to antibiotics. His flesh was coming off and they didn't know what it was until the culture came back. Once they got the right stuff treating it, everything turned around. That was the infection that delayed his transplant, but as I said, he is nearly ready to return home now and was able to drive out for the day on Thanksgiving. It was great. I wish I could be there in person so you could see and feel the hope. I'll send all I can by angel wings.

Good wishes and hopes for a better future winging their way to this family ... and some prayers offered on their behalf. I've often heard people claim that everyone has troubles, and I recall a parishioner family that had a long series of them, including a son in law killed in a train accident, daughter with young granddaughter died of cancer, another daughter not fully functional, and a barn burning. When someone said about everyone having troubles, or "what goes around ... comes around", or something like that, and someone referred to that family's ongoing difficulties, it made people in that community reconsider their earlier somewhat superficial judgement. I don't know how he contacted it yet. I don't know if they know either. I don't think they track it back unless there's an outbreak and several people/kids get it.

Here's an update sent this morning.

Want to say "THANK YOU" for the prayers, God is working--he had hives, they gave him Benadryl, which completely cleared up the hives and the Dr's were amazed, they thought it would only help with the itching. He had a rough night but this morning woke up hungry. The dr's said he is producing the toxin but all of his "numbers" were up/potassium, kidney, etc. so they are pleased but will keep a close watch on him until Saturday so he is still not out of the woods but at this point he is much better and God is answering the prayers.

Thank Goodness he's feeling better.I missed the post yesterday,So glad he's on the road to recovery.Prayers and good thoughts for him.
