Stuffed turkey is in the oven. Mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce and green beans. Can't wait!

A fun filled day. Cheryl and I went to church and we each got asked to bake something for the up coming chili supper the church is having. I am to take two pumpkin pies and Cheryl cookies. We went a little out of our way on the way home and picked up a bucket of KFC and sides, went to Amber and Mike's and we had lunch. They are finishing up the chicken pen. The chickens went over yesterday afternoon. We watched the chickens for awhile and then Cheryl and I visited my daughter Terri and her husband. Stayed for awhile and now I am finally home. My supper was a quick one. Raman noodle soup and buttered toast and some fresh red grapes. I am rather tired so will go to my room really soon.

I cruise with a group from Ft Myers. THey are snowbirds from Boston. WIll join them this Feb.

Not a single bite left over from my many snacks I took to church this morning. Came home with dirty serving dishes and I didn't even get any this morning.

Afterwards, 4 of us went to Lloyds, and we all had half plates. Two of them had the half hamburger steak plate and two of us had half plate fried chicken.

WIth mine I had butter peas and creamed corn.

Patti, It is good you are back to cooking even if you are not able to eat what you cook yet. I am sure that will happen very soon.

For dinner it was a meatloaf, mashed potatoes & onion rings.

The weather is getting warmer. They say by mid week it will hit the high 70's after our killing frosts. This means it will be Indian summer this week.

I had a fried egg sandwich w/thick slice of tomato on it. And a bowl of the turkey corn chowder I made today. It's a little warmer here today but still a chill in the air so it helped warm me up from the inside out.

Going to PF Chang with a group. I've never been. Looked at the menu online. So glad they posted nutritional info, as many entrees are very, very high calorie. I don't want a day's worth of calories in one meal!

Well, I had a day's worth of calories in one meal today. We stopped on the way to the Outer Banks. I had some fried oysters, steak fries and cole slaw plus two hush puppies. No dinner tonight. I will have to try to be good the rest of the week but those oysters sure were yummy. Already missing Georgy.

I came home from church and fixed fried okra, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, cornbread and barbecued chicken. We will have it again for our evening meal. Took a few laps on my bicycle with my son to burn off those calories. An enjoyable afternoon!

Cool, drizzly day. Roast turkey, sweet and white potatoes cut in chunks and roasted with garlic and olive oil. Creamed corn.

The weather turned cool and a bit breezy, so that prompted me to make a big pot of chicken noodle soup and an even bigger pot of winter minestrone. I love soup and could eat it everyday, looks like I will have too. DH will eat the Chicken noodle, but not the other. His loss :)

I have Costco pre seasoned ribs in the oven..3 home grown German Butterball potatoes and 2 Beauregard yams in there too..picked up a bag of Haricot Verts, will toss those in a skillet with some bacon and stock.

Also plan on putting together a bit of slaw with home grown savoy, carrots and leeks...suppose I should put a lit saucepan of BBQ sauce on the stove too..

There are quite a few of us throwin down some home cookin!

Mary, yummy! We're supposed to warm up, too. At least into the mid 80's. I've had the heat on the the mornings 'cause it's been so cold.

Shirley, boy everything sounds so good tonight. Egg sandwiches are one of my favorite fast meals. Hope you'll have one more nice warm spell before November sets in.

Hounds x two, the closest we have to a P.F.Chang's is in the frozen food department. Has anyone tried their frozen dinners in a bag? Just wondered how good they are.

Sweet Betsy, that sounds like a delicious Southern Sunday dinner. Okra is so good fried, but I sure don't like it any other way. Just my personal quirk, I guess.

I loaded up the slow cooker with anazazi beans and cabbage soup early today and it's smelling wonderful. Lots of ham, carrots, onions, etc in the soup too.

we pre-planned to get a dish from Costco...good thing, too... thought I could walk the store (and not use the motorized cart) and knee got stiff!

Just reading about all our Canadian friends' Thanksgiving dinners has had me craving turkey! DH said I did the same thing last year. Power of suggestion, I guess. I just couldn't wait. I'm stuffed now and hubby is downstairs cleaning up the tornado I left behind. Life is good! LOL

Patti, those P.F. Chang frozen dinners are excruciatingly high in sodium.

We had seconds on the minestrone. It was so so good.
