What's for dinner Saturday?

Tonight we're having spare ribs, green beans with little red potatoes and glazed carrots. This is Harry's DD's last day with us :-( I have the ribs cooking at a low temp.now,since we don't usually eat until around 7. I just rub them with S&P and garlic powder, wrap them tightly in foil and put on a rack above a baking sheet and cook for 2-1/2 hours. They usually turn out tender using that method.

Zoe's for my usual: spinach rollups and braised white beans.

No one anywhere around was busy cause our two big college games are out of town. Easy in and out to eat today.

Those ribs sound delicious Patti. Vannie and her husband came to visit at the motor home. Then they took us on a tour of the area and we stopped for late lunch at this wonderful restaurant in Longview. There was all kinds of seafood on the menu so it was hard to decide what to eat.

I had large shrimp stuffed with crab, baked potato, coleslaw and before it was delivered they brought delicious crisp bread. Also a tray of corn relish, pickled okra, sweet pickles and some cheese butter. Man we ate so much we were stuffed when we left.

With all the great restaurants around here we would be rolling everywhere if we lived here. I told Vannie I need to start a folder and keep a list of all the restaurants as she posts about them at the Meeting House.

We are having a wonderful time here. Will be moving again on Monday morning.

Holy smokes Raven!!! I get bronchitis EVERY time, I don't get just a cold. The coughing hurts like hell, and I get headaches from coughing, and my head feels like it's going to pop off. So I get to the doctor as soon as I can. You must be in total agony! I made the overnight breakfast casserole for myself. Hubby is not an egg-eater, but he thought it looked really good. He had some, and loved it. Egg isn't the main focus, the bread, sausage/ham is. He finished it off for dinner with some corn, and I had leftover ham, potatoes and corn.

Rhizo, hope you're finished in time for the movie. Those kabobs sure sound yummy! YogaLady, does that mean we won't see your sweet self for a few days? If so, have a wonderful time but if you'll have access I look forward to hearing about your trip--or you can tell us when you get home. Have a wonderful time. Clubm, everything sounds delish! We just love spinach, but have to watch how much, since Harry takes Coumiden. I see you've been at the Garden Web for a while. Do you post much? I sure hope you plan to in the future!! I must not be "normal"....I've had some wicked chills all day so it was leftover lentil soup for me. Robert went out to pick up a takeout order from a nearby Mexican restaurant.

Gosh, everyone's dinner sounds so good! I swear that I'm going to get a slow cooker; I must be one of the few that don't. I'm looking forward to those cool autumn evenings. I sort of miss our little outdoor chiminea....it was enjoyable to sit around a fire and chat over drinks. Jasdip, my eyes are FABULOUS! My vision gets sharper and brighter every day. I asked Robert this evening if he noticed that the TV reception had improved and he just laughed at me. I simply cannot believe that I have this vision out of my own eyes. My doctor somehow managed to finess my new lenses so that I feel like I have almost infinite far vision but still can see well enough close up that I've only needed readers for very small print. I can put on my makeup, read most things without my new little readers. I will donate all of my eye glasses next week. Pretty amazing. I had him, his technician, and myself dabbing our eyes last week at a checkup visit after my second surgery. I made him stop what he was going, I took his hand in mine, leaned close to him and told him how much my new vision meant to me, someone who had really been so burdened by terrible vision since I was a little, tiny girl. I wanted him to know that my life was changed.

I am on my own tonight since hubby is working so I am just pulling a pizza out of the freezer.

I had a late lunch as I was so busy today in my kitchen. So for my supper I just had a glass of milk.

I cooked whole wheat noodles, drained and added a jar of Ragu alfredo sauce. I then stirred in the meatballs I'd made earlier. I also had steamed broccoli, and a thin slice of homemade bread.

I'd have loved to gone out for seafood like Nita.

Glenda, I have your recipe for the braised beans--now I just have to remember to try them :-)

Nita, I think we're all envious of your lunch and time with friends. Everything sounds delicious, especially that cheese butter. Woo hoo! Have a safe trip home, friend.

Raven, what a bummer to have DH working on a weekend. Enjoy the pizza with a good book or a girlie movie!

Today is my husbands birthday so we are having chicken parmesan with spag & garlic bread. For dessert I made a boston cream pie, could never understand why they call this a pie.
