What's for dinner 10/18?

I've spent the better part of the afternoon trying to clean the paint mist off just about everything in our hall bathroom. I wouldn't want anyone to hear what I've been calling that painter!!! Anyway, tonight's dinner is pork chops--baked somehow (?), leftover cauliflower with cheese sauce and beet salad left over from last week.

What've you been doing and what's for dinner at your house?

I went to Lowe's and bought a lot of plants that were marked down. I could get a whole roll away for $20 and pick out the ones I wanted...so I bought a bunch of plants and am sharing with a friend...and she said she would bake me a cake. Other than that....I'm not sure.

Watched the stock market.....making "zero" trades. :0( Then watched "The Talk" premier. Nothing to get excited about. IMO

Having leftover spinach quiche & marinated NY steak.

The difference in the amount of nickel in the stainless may affect the look of it. 18/10 always looks brighter, shinier, more....ummmm...expensive. If it were something like flatware, I would want to see them side by side to compare. But that's just me. Teresa

Beautiful day here in central Indiana. It is near 80 I think. For supper we are having BLTs and leftover pineapple upside down cake. I've been drinking on iced tea. Izzi and I went to Amber and Mike's for lunch. We had hot dogs and burgers on the grill, baked beans, two kinds of potato salad, chips and I took a banana cream pie. While there the neighbor gal brought over her leftover chicken enchiladas for us to eat. They were very good. Oldest daughter Cheryl and her husband Kevin are there helping out putting up new crown molding in the kitchen. My knee is bothering me so I had them bring me home. Sue

This is the Easton pattern, first introduced in 1985; I bought mine in 1991. (I sure with they would stay this bright and shiny!) And this is the old "Madrid" pattern. Apparantly, Oneida has a new "Madrid" pattern in their current catalog that looks nothing like this old one. I don't know when the first "Madrid" was introduced, but I bought mine in 1975. It was discontinued in 1989. Does this say 1970s, or what? I still love it, even though I have only three serving pieces left from the original set.

We bought an electric smoker off craigslist for $25. the other day.It was brand new,still in the box and hadn't even been assembled.DS wanted to try it out but looked in several different stores today for a brisket and couldn't find one.Either didn't have them or they were very fatty and expensive.No such luck today! Hopefully someone will have a good one tomorrow.He grilled burgers and dogs instead.They were good but I had my taste buds all ready for brisket!

I have been making big meals since Thursday, we had company for the weekend. So tonight Mike is going to grill steaks. I have some nice big baking potatoes so I will wrap them in foil with sliced onions and he can do those on the grill also. Will cook up a frozen veggie to go with.

This morning I got the stitches out of my foot and the rest of the day I have been relaxing.

Have a Cajun boneless chicken that is stuffed with crawfish jambalaya ready to go in the oven, that will be dinner. YUM good stuff.

Leftover London broil on top of a big salad with feta cheese. I'll add garbanzos, too, for extra chewiness. :)

My stomach isn't in such good shape today. I'm having Raamen Noodles to settle it with a Diet Sprite.

Nita, you deserve a break from cooking after cooking for company. Glad your foot is getting better and I know you're anxious to get out and moving more.

Marilyn, you really scored on those plants. Makes me want to run to Lowe's but I am a notorious plant killer except for succulents. LOL! I only have one jade plant and that's because I know I can't possibly kill that!!

Everybody's dinner sounds good--ours was a big fat zero on a scale of 1 to 5. Made a honey mustard sauce for the pork chop and it was nasty tasting and the pork chops were like shoe leather--and I only baked them 35 minutes. They were about 3/4" thick so I didn't think that would be too long.

Enjoy what's left of the evening, everybody!

We went to the IHOP for our supper after a runaround day. We had to go to Tractor Supply and stock up on birdseed and some other things Ivan wanted, then off to Petsmart to stock up on cases of canned cat food and some kitty litter, then to the pharmacy to get our flu shots. I've also done dishes, taken care of the cats, made two of the three yard mummies I am working on, and chopped some low hanging branches from a tree along our driveway that kept catching in my hair. Now tomorrow Ivan can clean up that mess I made which he should have done weeks ago. All in all, it was a busy day.
