What's for dinner 10/10

Hey--it's 10/10/10!! What are you having for dinner tonight? We're just having leftover soup from last night. That's the problem when cooking for one or two. Wish I could click my heels and be in Canada for a Thanksgiving celebration. :-)

Leftovers here too. Great northern beans, mac and cheese w/steamed vegetables. I surely would like to have some leftovers from our northern neighbors turkey dinners.

a very humble dinner tonight, cornbread is in the oven now. Daughter brought over homemade vegetable soup. Hubby is having soup and cornbread. I am having cornbread and milk. Grew up eating this, and still love it. Only thing different will be that I didn't milk the cow this morning for the milk. When I was small would take an onion out of the root cellar, sprinkle the bread and milk with black pepper and that was supper. In my older years, stopped the onion, but put lots of black pepper.

I have two Naan Breads left over from a batch I made, so Bob suggested we use them both as a base for making individual pizza's.. Sounds like a plan to me. Ihave chopped onion, chopped green pepper, pepperoni, shredded provolone and Asiago cheese, sliced mushrooms, and some italian sausage ready to go. I have the sauce all mixed up in a bowl and just letting the flavors marry for a couple of hours before I put them together. Simply and yummy.. (I hope).. Carolyn

We finished up the leftover scalloped potatoes. They taste even better the following day (or so). Made sausages and red sauce (browned sausages served with a red sauce of ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, worcestershire and mustard, onions and celery). Broccoli on the side.

Mine is not worth mentioning.

I DO though have yogurt spinach quiche baking in oven, right now, for potluck luncheon, tomorrow.

I made dinner roll dough from scratch. Then made pigs-in-the-blanket with half the dough & rolls with the rest.

Grilled ribeyes for DS and DH, with hash brown potatoes and garlic toast. I had a lettuce salad.

drumstick from roasted chicken (only part i eat lol) baked potatoe and steamed artichoke :-) i did skip on the artichoke yesterday! only because the produce store was out thou LOL, he saved me 5 today! ~ liz

Nothing great here today. Bobby wanted hotdogs in rolls and baked beans. Hey, it's easy and all I have to do is open the can and nuke it.

Dinner is about 3 hours away yet for us, but I am going to make Patti/Glenda white chicken chili and corn bread.....

Pizza hut pizza. I was going to make meatloaf and creamed turnips.. but we went to get a sectional I found on Craigslist so we ended up getting home later than planned.

We did not have lunch so we had an early supper. Four of us went to Captain D's and I had the two piece fish dinner, the original, fried okra, fries and I ate Norm's coleslaw. He never eats coleslaw of any kind. I also had a few glasses of unsweetened iced tea. It was really good and filling. Norm and Kevin had all you could eat fish. Cheryl had the two piece fish dinner plus some coconut shrimp.

TG here... we had turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, stuffed shells, scalloped potatoes, carrots (from the garden), corn, home made dinner rolls, and tons of desserts.

Hmmm where to begin!!!!!

Roast turkey AND a turkey breast AND cabbage rolls (compliments of a family member). stuffing, rolls

Wife saver potatoes from Best of Bridge (made with sour cream, cream cheese and made beforehand), turnip puff, broccoli and rice casserole, marinated carrot salad, broccoli slaw,

Apple pie, pumpkin pie, lemon pie, butter tarts, date squares.

Bring on the leftovers!

We bought an electric smoker off craigslist for $25. the other day.It was brand new,still in the box and hadn't even been assembled.DS wanted to try it out but looked in several different stores today for a brisket and couldn't find one.Either didn't have them or they were very fatty and expensive.No such luck today! Hopefully someone will have a good one tomorrow.He grilled burgers and dogs instead.They were good but I had my taste buds all ready for brisket!

You all are making me hungry for turkey. Thanksgiving is about the only time I ever get to have it. I love turkey especially the crisp skin (I know you aren't supposed to eat it) it's the best part. We have to wait over a month before our Thanksgiving gets here. Darn

Mama's been tied up with DGM in the hospital, so my brother fixed Sunday Dinner for the family.

Pulled BBQ Pork shoulder, Hogie rolls, Pasta salad, Patato salad, Mixed vegies, and Birthday cake & ice-cream for my youngest nephew's first birthday.

We had homemade mac and cheese and hot dogs. Not too fancy :-) I wasn't feeling so great so altered plans for making chicken enchiladas (more work intensive) at the last minute.
