Just cancelled Netflix

I knew about the new increases and people's unhappiness, but just didn't act. I really don't want to stream on my computer, either. Got my bill today and went from 18.00 to 25.00. We don't use it that much, anyway, and can rent at the store if I really want to see something.

I dropped the DVD-by-mail option, which didn't make me unhappy at all, and kept the streaming (on my TV) for $7.99. I've been sick since Wednesday.......that's when I really appreciate a TV set. Netflix streaming is all I use it for.

When we got a 4K tv, we changed to Netflix 4k so that I could see something in 4K. I binge watch too much and Netlix makes it easy - Frankie and Grace, the Crown, Stranger Things, Series of Unfortunate Events, Travelers, West Wing, re-watching the Sherlock series, etc. But I find good movies too - just watched Walt before Mickey and I loved Jane Fonda/Robert Redford Our Souls at Night and Kathy Bates in The Great Gilly Hopkins and lots of others. While I agree the latest block busters aren't there (they to have Dr. Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy), I do find plenty of offerings to "waste my time" and have to give serious thought to giving up HBO, etc.

We got the audiobook to listen to on a trip. Michelle has a beautiful voice for reading and it is different than her public speaking voice. We found it so soothing that it was a bit hypnotic, not good for driving, so we set it aside. But the words were well-written. I have the print book and look forward to reading it. The documentary was just wonderful.

Never had it. We get most of our DVD's from our library. (We can give them a nice check every year out of the savings!)

I went from 3 to 2 DVDs at a time, after they increased my bill to $25-something a month last week.

I still have it - streaming and DVD. I just love the convenience of always having movies at my fingertips. I keep getting the DVDs since there are a lot of movies I want to watch that aren't yet available streaming. It's a lot of convenient entertainment for less than $20 a month.

We love it too. We changed from 3 DVDs to 1 DVD and unlimited streaming, which we use constantly. We weren't using the DVDs much, and I wanted to change to 1 DVD anyway. It turned out a little cheaper this way for us.

... and have friends with similar tastes ...

... how about inviting friends over for a movie night ...

... and, after a few such successful evenings ...

... suggest that you share the fee for the service?

We have a pizza and movie night at church on first Sat. evening of the month, a $5.00 fee covers the pizza, and the movie is free, so we avoid getting into trouble for charging to show them (I think).

I found I wasn't getting my money's worth. I do get movies from the library, for free, but for movies at my fingertips, I rely on Amazon.com and iTunes for movie rentals, then attach my laptop to my television with an HDMI cable and stream to the television.

I do think that Netflix can be a great deal, though, depending on what and how much you watch.

Never had it. I use Redbox. $1 Can't beat it. My son gets Netflix.

Streaming Netflix uses a computer, usually with a wireless router, hooked up to a net-ready device, be it a DVD player, the TV itself, a Roku box or a game machine. You download the movie to watch without using a DVD.

I live in the middle of no where, the nearest place to get a movie, is 60 some miles. I will keep my netflix.
