They are very cool....one of my favorite Owls. We have a lot of them here in and around my area. I hear them more often in late spring...but occasionally this time of year too. Maybe they will nest near or on your property?? We have had Barn Owls nest here quite often....Talk about weird sounds...a lot of hissing and high pitch sounds from them. They have a face only a mother could love...but they sure keep our field mouse population in check. We hoot back and usually get an answer....Try it...They might actually talk back when tyhey hear you hoot... Cheers!

Nita and Carol have the pictures in their cameras. Mine is broken! I posted on Kats "Keep at the top" post, but I tell you those are two of the nicest people! Before they got here I was worried about what we'd talk about, but soon found that was no problem at all. In fact we talked over 4 hours. I can't believe how fast the time flew by. Nita is just as everyone describes and does have great hugs. I loved hearing her stories about all the places she's lived and traveled to. I felt immediately comfortable with Carol. I felt like I'd known her a long time. We're planning to do it again next year. Sure hope it will work out that they can come, but I hope our weather is better. It was rainy and cold (but nothing like you had today). Now I want to meet everybody here!

I'm glad Buzzard straightened you out Ruthie! LOL Nita got here yesterday afternoon and we headed out to DS and DIL's house where we had an Easter dinner and watched the twins hunt for eggs. They were just starting to shoot skeet when we decided we better hit the road and come home. :o) We've been running around all day today. The twins are coming over in a little while so I can watch them while DIL goes to a meeting. Then Nita and I will go find some place to have dinner. I still haven't packed, so guess I'll fit that in sometime today. We are leaving on our road trip in the morning. We both have our laptops so we will be staying in touch and hopefully uploading some pictures along the way.

Hi--haven't been anyplace yet. Just busy getting things done so when we go I can enjoy it! We're going to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee, NC up to the end in Waynesboro, VA. We aren't leaving until Sept. 10 or 11. We had planned to leave this weekend, but realized it was a holiday weekend (when the gas and motel prices are higher and traffic is heavier). Plus, I would just hate to miss the opening day of college football this Saturday :-) We drove part of the Parkway on a trip to PA once and it was just beautiful. We'll visit BIL in North GA on the way home. Will be gone a week. Sorry, Glenda. I didn't mean to be secretive--I just wasn't sure when we were going. Harry's had doctor appts. both yesterday and today and everything's AOK for the trip. Thanks for asking. You'll be sorry when we get home and I talk about it all the time :-) JoAnn, I'm glad you're feeling better. What a month you've had! Hope Ken is feeling better. Just having you home probably helped him immensely.
