Man, it's time to lose 20 lbs. and get a face lift. Ick! I have that "deer in the headlights" looks because Nita reminded us not to blink LOL! Ruthie you are right. Mike is so nice. He and Nita are the perfect couple. Joann, we wish you could've been here, too. We'll have to plan earlier next year. BTW, that wall is not orange (in the picture of the guys). It's the same color as the wall behind us girls.

That's essentially the recipe my mother used all the time. They're great. She always used shortening. Nice and crumbly. My sister mixes butter and shortening. I usually use the butter flavored shortening. Also she never added the salt. Peanut butter generally has enough salt and if you use salted butter, that too has salt in it but use if you like. A suggestion to speed things up, just grab a bunch of the dough and roll it in your hands into a log shape about 1"-1 1/2" or however big you want them, then break off the pieces and set in the pan. Take the fork and go at them. My mother's recipe said to dip the fork in flour but I usually touch the fork to the dough then dip it in sugar. As you're breaking off pieces, usually 2-3 in the pan and one in the mouth. Love that peanut butter cookie dough!

Patti, thanks for the update, I was beginning to get concerned about you. You seem to be doing well, and handling your restrictions like a trooper! I see you are still a Stouffers fan, like I am, and I also eat a lot of oatmeal. Pureed sounds interesting. I recently found new-to-me frozen foods that are the best ever. I know you are trying to gain weight, but even though many of these are Weight Watchers approved, they are so much better than any others I have been buying, you just might enjoy eating more of them. This was the night that we sisters bring in fast food to the Home where my special needs sister lives......sister's night. It was my turn to bring food for Annie. I took chili, baked potato from Wendy's. Chicken McBites from McDs. Sierra Mist special flavor for summer to drink. And stopped at a local bakery who makes the best brownies. I mostly buy large sizes of all the foods so she and I can split the food. Only problem was that they gave me SPICY chicken bites. She ate them but I told the nurse what she had, in case she complains later on. After we ate, we went to her room and cleaned out her closet and her dresser drawers, and to assess what clothes she'll be needing. Shirley
