I'm so sorry. The damn "C" raises it's ugly head again. I pray she has a good outcome. I know your helpless anxious feelings.

We have a long way to go, but there has been great strides made in breast cancer treatment. Prayers coming your way that your friend has a great outcome.

So sorry to hear is. There was an article in our paper this week that showed the survival rates for breast cancer and it was quite a bit higher than I had thought.

I am so sorry. The beginning, when you get the first news, is so very hard for everyone. You and Trudy are in my prayers.

I'm here to confirm what the previous poster said....Breast Cancer treatment has come a long way. Sure people still die from it but the majority of women now get wonderful treatment. I'm going to pray that they caught it early and that she has an easy recovery. Please be positive when you talk to her.......Keep the tears private....help her stay positive.

Ruth, I wrote her a long e-mail this morning and tried to be positive and no I didn't tell her I was crying.

Sending you a hug, and prayers that Trudy will find that she does well with the breast cancer. Cancer treatment has come a long way and the treatment certainly is manageable. I've beaten it twice now, burned the bra and am enjoying my life to the fullest.

Do think positive thoughts for your dear friend, Trudy. It's a scary, horrible experience for her and those who care about her, but as others have said we have made such terrific advancements in breast cancer. We'll all hope and pray for the best.

Have two friends in my church with breast cancer.One has stop working and the other keeps going as nothing has happened to change her life.Try not to feel sorry for her treat her as a normal person pray in secret for her unless she ask you topray for her.There are also three more woman in my church who had some kind of cancer and one man and it;s been over five years and they are doing fine.The truth of the matter it;s up to the person they have to have faith along with our prayers.I'm praying nightly for all sick and lonely.

Prayers for all of you!! As Ruthie and op's said they've come a long way with treatments.I'm a 3 year survivor and i plan to hang around for several more years.

Tell her that a good attitude is 1/2 the battle.She may need her DR to give her a script for an anxiety med,and or depression med.

When i was first diagnosed,i couldn't sleep,as soon as my head hit the pillow i'd lie there and all these "what if's " would run thru my head keeping me awake.I tried listening to music,reading etc,but my mind would always wander.

You have to do what ever is necessary to get thru it all.I'm so sorry she has to join this group,and will be sending up prayers for all of you!!!

All my best wishes to everyone concerned. I had a type of cancer, so I have an idea of how scary it can be to hear that diagnosis.

As was said, treatments are so much better as time goes on.

I know many ladies who have survived breast cancer, and I fervently hope your friend will join their ranks.

My wife, over 10 years ago, came down with breast cancer. She ahd a mascectomy of one breast, and over 13 lymph nodes removed in her arm pit. I tell you this to say there is life after breast cancer. She is alive to day and cancer free. As it turns out, one year later, the procedure changed and she could have kept her lymph nodes. The exam of these nodes showed they were clean. But at the time of her sugery, that was the standard procedure for her case type.

The removal of these nodes left her with a lifetime restriction. Soemtimes, lympth fluid builds up and it takes a massage to move it. Its no heavy lifting with that arm.

But she is still alive and well and accepts her restirctions as a part of life. She very happy to be cancer free,

Since that time, she has joined a cancer support group of ladies who meet once a week to comfort each other. They have a sandwich and coffee at a local resturant and discuss how to fix the economy, and tell jokes, among other things.

So sorry to hear this, I hope it was an early detection.

Good thoughts and hopes going out to Trudy and family, and you, and prayers offered on their/your behalf.

I hope that she can maintain an optimistic spirit.
