How is Your Day?

It was 32 degrees when I got up this morning. I think it is to be in or near 70 later on today. We are to have rain move in sometime tomorrow and continue into Thursday. Hopefully the rain will help the grass green up. We still have a lot of outside work to get done. The men have to pick up some more retaining wall blocks to finish up the last tall wall. If they ever get finished with the wall then the new driveway can be put in. I have a chuck roast in the crock pot and I am doing laundry at this time. So much to try and get done.

Wasn't as chilly this morning. aroun 40 degrees or so.
Been up since 5, but had chemo yesterday so i didn't v
feel like taking my 50 minute walk with my friend this
morning. We walk, fast and with hills lol, at 5:45 4
mornings a week. So, I'll pick up a few thins for the
baby shower I'm going to tomorrow, and then talk myself
in to going to the Y for a small workout on the weight
machines. I have a 12 week free membership. I've
joined an exercise and thrive program there for cancer
peeps and it is sponsored by the Lance Armstrong
Foundation and Fred Hutch cancer center. Even though
the participants are supposed to be 90 days post
treatments, my Doc sent a letter giving me permission.
It's only 8, so I have time! lol

need to do laundry! and clean house.

Sue, we need rain, too. Haven't had any for over three weeks. We're getting crispy!!

I woke up at 3:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. At 9:00, our new bed was delivered and set up in the guest room. I got the living room put back together (sort of) from the carpet cleaning yesterday. The carpet sure looks nice. It needed it badly!

I have pork in the crockpot for barbeque. The weather is nice but my allergies are making me miserable. Talked to my sis for over an hour and now I'm ready for a nap!

Going pretty good so far. I swept about 3 inches of snow off my sidewalk and cleaned off my car this morning. Wind has blown about 1/3 of it back on the walk. Have a combo of red beans and pinto cooking in the crockpot. Worked some on a laprobe I'm knitting. Did several small cleanup jobs. I'm just a recent convert to Bob Evans. Everything I'd eaten there in the past was yucks to me, but I tried the chicken pot pie last week....very good so I'll go back. My sister had banana bread with hers. I ate a small bit and loved it too. Sue, is the cherry bread as good as the banana? I may have to break down and buy a full loaf of one or the other. Maybe I can get sis to buy one kind, I'll buy the other and we'll share. Enjoy the rest of your day. Shirley

I too have a Super Bronco tiller, they do a great job. We don't use it though to till up the garden, our son in law does it with his John Deere and tiller. The Bronco gets to go up and down the rows of veggies. I used to use it a lot, but don't any more, our other son in law uses it or or daughter uses her tiller, which is smaller than the Bronco. It is too wet here for gardening yet, more rain coming this morning. As they say, that is what makes the little chicks grow! Sue in Central Indiana

Made it 4 days straight to water aerobics. We've been moved from the big pool to the lap pool, due to school being out and swim team takes over the big pool. Lunched at Golden Corral, not my favorite place, but filled the bill, today. Hot, so came home and turned the ac on. Nap time is soon.

Ok, time to 'fess up. The photo was shot through a large aquarium at the Retzer Nature Center, Waukesha Co., WI. The give-away is the light flare off the glass in the upper right corner. This shot gives the illusion that the room is filled with water and fish are swiming around. The illusion is further enhanced by the shadows of the fish on the wall of the room. There were several other fish in the tank. These are fish that may be found in the local waters. It was difficult shot because the fish kept hiding in the shadows. After taking 4 or 5 shots, I got one that gave a reasonable iillusion. This encourages me go the big Cabela Sporting Goods store. They have an aquarium that is one story tall. It reaches from the floor of the first floor to the second floor. The tank is shaped to make a wall separting two sales section. It is filled with Wisconsin sport fish and several fish are 18 inches long or more.

I keep watching Starbucks stock...can't convince myself to buy it...so it goes up..and up...and up....:0)

The thrift store had a little ....it's HUGE....end table for $5. So I put a coat of poly on it yesterday...

Our weather is so nice, but it has been dry for a while. It is sunny and about 40*. Now that we have the use of a loaner car, I'm getting caught up with errands. I'm secretary of our Senior Club and the Treasurer is a dear man, who is, I'm afraid ill and said he had t give up the position. No one else in the club wanted to take being the treasurer on, so we'll combine the secretary & treasurer positions, so I had to go into the bank to arrange that transfer. Then I went by Dairy Queen and picked up lunch for Hubs & I. It was so nice to be able to be out and about after being car-less for 2 weeks.

My favorite thing to do is hold and rock newborn babies. I just finished spending an hour with some friends from church who have a 3 week old adopted baby. The baby's name is Finn and he is so sweet. That made my day. Besides that it is sunny and nice here today. Now I am off to volunteer at the hospital.

Started a new puzzle here and plan to stay at home. It is raining a little and 60 something outside, high of 68 expected. Love this weather. Here is my last puzzle.

Nicole, I thought Starbucks was in trouble. They must be having a come back. Good luck.

Vala,that's a purdy puzzle!!
We have had rain almost all week long,and when it's not raining it's dark and dreary,very unlike past octobers.Oct is usuall santa ana winds and fire so the rain is a nice change.

I want that table!!

A few days ago I brought in my two Hibiscus plants and put them in front of the sunny window where Lottiecat likes to sit. I want to put my chair-side table there for her, but then I would need another one for me. Guess I will have to check out the thrift stores.

Vala, lovely puzzle.

It is 62ÃÂ° right now, and a beautiful sunny afternoon. Today I went on our Community bus grocery shopping trip with some other ladies. Think I'll be doing that a lot more now. Saves me having to drive, plus we do have fun.

Ooooh, I long for rain!! But will probably regret saying that. We are 8 inches below normal this year. It hasn't rained hard since the middle of July.

But I had a fun day today. My FindAGrave assignment became a family affair today. My sister went with me to a beautiful little chapel where we found the grave of "Infant Girl Armstrong". She died in 1844. The grave was difficult to read. But we managed. And then we went and had Mexican food for lunch!! Woohoo!!

We had some good rain yesterday. The sun came out today.

My son and his fiance from Arizona have been with me this week. Today was our last day together as they left about 5PM.

We had a wonderful day and I love my new girlfriend-in-law!

like a hard one.

I didn't do much today, but I DID go to the Y and
I did weights. I couldn't pump up any enthusiasm for
cardio, so I did my upper and lower body on weights. lol
Before the Y I hit target and picked up some more things
for the baby shower, and stopped by the grocery store
after the Y. DH is getting lasagna for dinner. I'll
stick the frozen pan in the oven at 5 LOL
now I'm back on the couch. lol

It was 39 here this morning but warmed up to a beautiful sunny 78 degree day. We hit 6 garage sales. Got a metal 2 slice toaster that looks brand new for $1 and some things for my daughter. All totaled, I spent $5. Talked with my daughter several times, then went to Michaels this evening for some craft supplies I needed. All in all it was a great day.

Several times of rain during the last few days - not great for picking beans to take to church, either Sat. evening or Sun. morn ...

... but it has been nicely mild.

Well, don't tell the gals in Minn but the white stuff is headed here tomarrow thru Wed and then we send it east. We are under a winter watch expect about 1-3 inches but with heavy wind also.
