Update on Max

Today I learned that my cat Max has a tumor in his colon. It is a fast growing cancerous tumor which was not evident one month ago when he had his ultrasound. I am about to embark upon a journey that I know many of you have been on.

He has been at the vet's office because he could not go to the bathroom. He was cleaned out and the vet found the tumor. I want to bring him home so that his last memories are not ones of having something stuck up his bottom and then put in a cage for the night next to a barking dog.

The vet said he is comfortable now but he will not survive this.

Am I being selfish for wanting him home for a few days? I would never want him to suffer any more than he is.

This is my friend, my companion of almost 16 years. My heart is heavy and I have been sobbing since the call came in.

Please keep us in your thoughts in this difficult time. I thank you in advance.
