I LOVE Kohl's. It is only 3 miles from my house. I buy a LOT of clothes there. Thereprices are great, and there is always coupons for even more money off. Especially when u have a charge. There return policyis unbeatable. The style of the clothes always appeals to me. Have fun shopping.

Once in awhile I shop there. The sales are great. Recently Amber and I shopped for baby clothes and maternity clothes and got a lot of great deals. She has a credit card there and yes you do get better deals if you use it sometimes. I do not have a card for there. It is about 20 miles or so from me.

Kohl's is wonderful! They are constantly running a sale, so I almost never pay full price there! We do joke though, about the never ending sale papers and TV ads.

Funny you should ask.....I haven't been to Kohl's in years because it's a bit off my beaten path. But last week I was shopping for something to wear to the celebration of my DS and DIL's wedding, and I'd had no luck trying Macy's before I went to work. While at work later that day, I happened to see Kohl's sale flyer and noticed they were open till 11:00 p.m. that week. I get out of work at 9:00, so I headed over there afterwards.

I must have hit the same sale you did, Marita. I found exactly what I wanted--in face, I found two great possibilities, and am keeping them both. Plus I bought some tops to wear to work.

I noticed they carry Gloria Vanderbilt pants, so I'll be going back soon.

I love Kohl's. I have a 30% off coupon right now I plan to use. The thing I like about Kohls is that their coupons are good for everything in the store, whether it is on clearance or not. At our Younkers/Herbergers store they have so many restrictions on using their coupons I rarely shop there. It gets very frustrating and I have written them to let them know. But Kohl's is great, and you don't even need a receipt to return anything as long as you put it on your Kohls card.

They sent out $10 off coupons on anything $10 or more. The egyptian cotton towels....back then....were on sale 50% off, then with the coupon I paid $1 each for bath towels! WooooooooooHooooooooooo! People behind me in line were applauding me! ha ha That coupon drew quit the crowd...

Absolutely!! I thought when we got one in Tyler that all my shopping problems were over, b/c I can't shop w/ anyone, and when I'd go to one in the Dallas area it would always be with my youngest DD. So, now I can turn loose, and I'm a fast shopper b/c I HATE shopping. I know what I need when I go in there and I always have a 30% off coupon and recently bought 6 shirts and 1 pair of pants for $53. and 1 of the shirts had originally been real pricey. Yep! in Tyler it Kohl's for me, or Dressin' Gaudy. When you're retired you don't need as much stuff and my volunteer job has a uniform, so I don't shop much.

I find the quality (and style) of the clothes really doesn't hold up. I sometimes go because there's one near me but it's not one of my favoite stores. I find they carry the more faddish clothes (which is good because their clothes won't hold up for more than a year or two anyway) than the classic clothes.

Also, they seem to do that mark stuff up so they can act like it's 40% off thing. They'll have what should be a $15 shirt marked as $40, then say it's 50% off. So, you think you're getting deal but you're really getting a $15 shirt for $20. At least that's how I see it... same with the toys, ect...

I just think it's overpriced for the quality you are getting. Sometimes, they do have some good steals in Bed and Bath online.

I used to shop there more than I do now. I've been having good luck at a regional department store chain lately. I like it more for household stuff particularly linens vs. clothing. Though I sometimes buy jeans and Lee brand casual pants there (also buy those at JCPenney). I did buy a great leather jacket and a tweed jacket there at a very low price. I don't think the leather jacket has held up as well as a better quality one but I still really like it. I'm a real sucker for their pricing strategy which is to price everything higher so they can discount and make you feel like you got everything on sale. I did once find an item I wanted and when I checked with the clerk there was absolutely no markdown - so I didn't buy it. I still think that must have been a mistake because everything is always "discounted".

I shop a lot at Kohl's on-line, even though we have a store about 5 miles away. I try to avoid department store shopping whenever possible. I've bought mainly household items. I comparison shop a lot so I can say for their kitchen, bed and bath stuff, their sales truly are sales. For instance, our granddaughter is getting married next spring and I wanted to get her a nice set of pots and pans. I got a 10-piece stainless steel set (Wolfgang Puck) for $149.00 and free shipping. The same set was $199.00 at Macy's and a few other places. That's for the same identical set. You have to watch things like that, though because Sam's had a set for something like $89 but it wasn't the same quality.

I don't think any clothing is made well these days. It's all made in some foreign country probably in some sweat shop where people get paid a dime a day. Sure wish I'd taken home ec in high school!

I shop there often. In fact I am going there today! Having a charge card there and using the discounts you get in the mail (15%, 20% or 30%) added to the sale prices gives you some great bargains.

I agree the return policy is the best. No limit on the time you can return, sometimes you don't even need the receipt if you charged it. I don't return much, but I have returned a few things.

I like Kohl's, for the most part. I just returned an unopened pair of little girl panties that we had picked up in the wrong size when I took my two little granddaughters on a marathon back to school shopping spree . This was an unopened, package..... price 7 dollars or so. The store charged me $1.99 restocking fee. wth? What restocking? I would have been happy to carry it back to the shelf myself. The clerk did not mention the fee, and I did not realize it until we had finished the transaction. Since I was in a hurry,and there were people waiting in line behind me, I let it go. That was the first time that has happened to me, and I have returned things many times. I wonder if all stores do it? I am going to ask at the service desk next time I go in there.

we buy dh's dress shirts ther (or used to...oxford cloth has been hard to find) no iron, and wash like a dream...we alsp buy his running shoes...i'm not so lucky, sigh...

and i've recieved some lovely pieces of jewelry from dh from there...

I like Kohls but you have to realize that the regular non sale prices on their clothes aren't real. No clothes are ever sold for their regular price. And I have noticed that the quality of their own line of clothes aren't very good. I have bought quite a few tops there over the years and they tend to get holes in them within a few months.

I bought a number of knit tops at Macys in the spring that were on sale for under $15.00 each and they are all still in good shape, they are just better made.

I don't have one nearby. Sorry I can't get to one easily.

We shop there quite often. It's three miles from home and is much easier getting to and parking at than any and all mall stores like Macy's, Penney's and the like. Both DH and I have Kohl's charge cards. Returns are super easy and there has never been a restocking charge. There have been times where we've gone in for a sale, found things marked down 80%, got a discount for using the charge and another because it was "seniors" day and a $10 coupon for every $40 or $50 we spent. I swear, some day's the discounts are so deep we feel like they're going to pay us to take the stuff out of the store. :-)

I like Kohl's well enough - sometimes I just appreciate that it's a "stand alone" and I don't have to deal with the mall. They do have good sales (a particularly good one going on right now); and what store doesn't mark things up just to sale them down? Going to run back tomorrow, I need a new set of bed pillows. Use up the big discounts plus the Kohl's Cash from the last trip.

I generally have good luck at Kohl's. I'm an easy enough size, but am really picky when it comes to blouses/shirts. I didn't see much that was in a material I could bear to touch or didn't have three quarter length sleeves or some kind of wonky collar. Just a casual cotton/cotton blend shirt to wear with cords or jeans. Believe it or not, I found exactly what I was looking for (100% organic cotton oxford shirts) on a chance run through Wal-mart. On sale there, too.

I used to shop there, but the clothes didn't hold up well.

They have a relatively new store close to me. I look for their discount coupons. Needed some pjs for my little grandson, so I saved a coupon from the paper for $10 off anything. The pjs were 45% off, and so I did not buy as they still seemed too high. But I forgot about the coupon, so I went back a few days later, and the $26 pjs were now 55% off and with the coupon I paid only $1.85. Hard to beat that price!

I have bought men's t-shirts, baby and toddler clothes, toys, holiday decorations, kitchen stuff, and linens there. Nice, middle of the road prices, and great sales. Look immediately after a holiday for real deals on holiday themed things and buy for next year.

Never been there but know people that like it. A good friend works there and she's given me some extra coupons but it's not a convenient store for me and I detest going to malls. The closest one moved out of the mall and built down the road. I do suspect they're one you should scrutinize on price. Whenever anyplace gives huge discounts on an ongoing basis, they're probably overpriced to start. Deals certainly can be found but just like the grocery store a "sale" isn't always a good deal.

I used to shop a lot at Kohls. I have noticed, however, that their quality has really gone down hill with the Sonoma brand (their "house" brand). I too notice little holes right after I buy something! I still go there, you can't beat the prices; but I am smart enough to know that those 15, 20 or 30% coupons are to get you to use your credit card. I charge for the discount and go back in line to pay it off! :) I DETEST credit cards!

Wouldn't it be nice if stores just had their lowest prices without sales and coupons, etc.?? I think Sears tried that once and it didn't go over so well. People like the word "sale" :)

I think Kohls is today's Sears, but without the appliances or tires.

(As soon as Sears figures out what IT is, they'll tell us. LOL)

The only clothes that I have bought there were a man's suit by Haggar and baby clothes by Carter's. I do find toys there at good prices when I have a 30% off coupon.

When it first opened, I found a twin size comforter set with sheets that had a sign over it that was 50% off. There were several sets of these by Laura Ashley and other brands as well. I did a price check (always do there) and it didn't ring up as a sale price. I couldn't find anyone to help me (that is usually the case) so I just went to the register and told them where it was, etc. They called someone from that department and said "No, it's not on sale." By this time I was pretty upset since I had tried to find someone back in that dept and there were several sets that appeared to have been stocked there on purpose. They finally let me have it for the sale price. Normally I wouldn't have made a big deal of it but it was the hassle more than anything that made me stick to my guns.

Another time I bought a quilt comforter set by another brand, their brand I think (Home something). The quilt faded unevenly the first time I washed it following the directions on the label. I didn't return it, should have but maybe it will even out when washed again. HA!

My biggest gripe with them is that they advertize things on sale that they don't have but 1 or 2 of in stock. I know the ads are probably national ads but they should have more control of the numbers in stock. Or they might have my DH's favorite type of tennis shoe on sale (not a popular type) but they will have 5 in size 11 and none in 8's.

Still, I end up there every couple of weeks, usually in the home decor area or the baby section.

Wouldn't it be nice if we all had bespoke tailors - pick out the finest materials and have your wardrobe handcrafted to your specifications. It dosn't work that way for most of us. We buy off the rack in even the better of the stores and we're pretty much at the mercy of what's on the rack. A made in the USA label is pretty rare - bet we've all got closets full of garments "assembled" in Mexico, Nicaragua, Pakistan, India, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Indonesia... a whole United Nations.

If you buy trendy, you're probably going to hate it after a season anyway even if it doesn't fall apart. I'm not terribly hard on clothes - especially the ones I don't want to be replacing all the time. I don't think in all honesty I've ever gotten anything that fell apart from any store. I've had things I've loved and just worn to death.

Even if the pricing, etc. is a "lie", I'm not going up to the register refusing the discounts pleading to please let me pay the full price.

I agree about the stock and sizes. I bought two pair of Dockers pants--which I like and have worn for years--and had to comb through huge piles to find my size, a 6. I was extremely lucky to find two pair after a long search but that was all they had in that size. In general, have you noticed in your area as I have in mine that stores have less and less in-store stock and more and more online items? Our local Penney's just abandoned their stand-alone furniture store and moved it all into the regular store without an expansion and with a corresponding reduction in store merchandise. 'Look online' is what you are repeatedly told if you can't find your size.

Not often. I have a credit card with them and use the coupons and my credit card to make a purchase then make a payment right then and there.

Can't stand the disorganization and having to wade through all the styles and sizes to buy anything so I only buy things like towels and bedding on sale.

Glenda same thing happened to me this week. Nothing worth buying with even with the 30% off. I thought I was the only one since I see people buying tons of stuff there. Guess we 're more selective. ;-)

I couldn't find anyone to help me (that is usually the case) ... I just "looked" confused today and a associate came up to help me. I was looking for a top that was in the sale ad. She spent several minutes looking, then went and asked the manager of the department if they had it. They won't have it till tomorrow... but I appreciated the help. I did notice several departments, especially the shoe department was extremely messy and disorganized today. I ended up getting 2 nice Chaps hand towels and a bathroom cup (all on clearance) for 18 cents after I used my $10. Kohl's cash which expired after today. No complaints from me. :-)

I like their casual clothes for around the house or grocery shopping. Would never wear them for dress or to work.
I do have a charge, but only shop on senior discount days when I have a coupon.

Jenna: I've never been charged a restocking fee, so your posting surprised me. Do you think it was because you were returning underpants, which because of sanitary reasons they would have had to have a clerk check them thoroughly before putting them out on the sales rack again--even tho they were unopened? Seems strange. You should ask a manager next time you're there.

Usually, stores that have restocking fees on such things as electronics do it because they have to take the time to inspect the box and make sure everything's still in there, every little cord, manual and battery. I agree there's no obvious reason your return required anything special.

To the OP: Just shopped at Kohls today! Bought a couple pima cotton tops and another casual top, which I can wear to work (it's Casual Friday every day for me!). Usually, if I have a discount coupon I can never find anything worth spending money on. Not a problem today!

I don't find Kohls stores disorganized at all! I recall my mall-shopping days, and the Macys stores all looked like bargain-basement messes! And worse once you went into the dressing rooms!

As other posters have written, nothing today holds up very well (and I don't go the designer route!). By the time next fall rolls around, the tops I purchased today will probably be faded and I'll be ready for some replacements. Sure, it makes me angry that quality is not the same nowadays.
