I would imagine the Goldmans must feel a little conflicted. On the one hand they are certainly thrilled at the prospect of OJ spending the rest of his life in prison; but on the other hand it means that he will have no source of income that they can get in payment towards the judgment they have against him.

He will be paying the Goldmans back in a bittersweet way.
I heard it was 15 years to the day yesterday, that he walked away from the court house a free man after the murder trial.

On Dr. Phil the other day, guests were the Goldmans & Mike Gilbert, the man who wrote "I helped OJ Get Away With Murder." Remember the infamous gloves??? He suggested OJ not take arthritis medication so his hands would be too swollen to get them on! He said he helped OJ hide assets, get money out of the country & funneled him cash under the table for autographs, etc. Gilbert can't touch the money in foreign countries but says he has access to storage units, etc., & will help the Goldmans recover all he can.

The Goldman's were not at all impressed with his apologies & confessions of guilty conscience as reason for writing the book. It looked Mr. Goldman's whole face actually swelled up while listening to him.

And when leather gets wet, it shrinks. I saw the Dr. Phil show too, and Mike Gilbert wasn't making any points with anyone in my opinion. Did he give all the proceeds from the book sales to the Goldman's I wonder? I wouldn't have bought it anyway. Someone was helping OJ, no doubt. He isn't smart enough to do anything alone.
I read where they took him into custody right then. Yesssss. I don't know if any bail was set, or if he can get out, but sentencing isn't until December 5th.
I hope he gets his due in there.

He has finally been 'taken down'. They took him out of the courtroom in cuffs, and he will be incarcerated until Dec 5th (I think it is) when he will be sentenced. Hopefully he will get enough time out of this that the Goldman's will never have to see him on the news/entertainment channels playing golf, or ever smiling for the cameras again.

I feel justice has 'finally' been served.

Gee, now who is going to take over his ongoing endeavor to find the " real " killer? One thing for sure, they won't have to search golf courses. I think OJ has already investigated all of them.

Well...it's about time! I knew he'd screw upo someday and get busted. He just couldn't stay out of trouble...thought he was always going to get away with something else. I'd love to read his thoughts now!

Well justice was finally served in one case- the man is menace and belongs off the streets. He just thought he was above it all didn't he? Karma, its a good thing!

Everyone is pretty happy about this. If he had just gone away and lived a quiet, law-abiding life, he wouldn't be in this situation.

I suppose he could get a new trial on appeal, and even get off, but at least the system has created a level of misery for him through this trial that just ended.

I always felt life would catch up with him. Yes, karma.

He COULD go to prison, and there will be an APPEAL!

They will pull all kinds of deals, appeals etc I don't think he will really go to a real jail maybe probation Claims of not enough race representation on the jury The lawyers could even take it to the Supreme Court JMHO Maybe no more golf

CNN said it was 13 years to the date that he was acquitted. Also, the jury took 13 hours. Suppose 13 isn't his lucky number???

I also heard that everything was done right and it would be hard for him to find something to appeal.

My DH just said he hopes OJ isn't allowed to watch the USC football game on TV today. In DH's opinion, that would be REAL punishment!! LOL!

I'm not going to celebrate until the appeals process is exhausted. There's still a lot of chances. At least he's in jail so far during that process.

Yippee! He should have been put in jail long ago, getting away with all that he did. Yes, he did put tons of money and has it hidden all over.

And to think that judge ordered that his kids be put back into his custody and he raised them knowing he murdered their mom. Unreal that is!

He thinks he is above the law, that he can play God and do whatever he wants too.

I hope they get him in jail but good.

Wow. It seems, from juror's comments that I've read, as well as comments here, that folks judged him guilty for this crime based upon their feelings from 13 years ago.

If any of you lived in the LA area like I did when this happened, you would be aware of the media coverage. They convicted him months before the trial as did many. I cannot honestly say if he was guilty or not, neither can anyone else. Sorry, there is another side to the Golman group that has been surpressed in the media.$$$$$

I watched a lot (most) of the trial coverage when OJ was on trial for the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. From what I saw, there certainly was reasonable doubt as to whether or not OJ was guilty. And it has always bothered me that Ron Goldman and his father had been estranged for many years, yet as soon as Ron died Mr. Goldman was suddenly the intensely grieving father. It has always seemed to me that Mr. Goldman is only after the money, not truly after justice for his son's death.

You all, of course, are entitled to your own opinions, but that is mine.

I agree with trishaw that justice was served in THIS case. If justice had been served in the other case, he would have been strung up by his test... UMMMM, he would have been found guilty.

I absolutely agree with you Lindsey. There was no way an honest juror could of convicted him at that trial. Terrible prosecution,paid off unreliable witnesses,a racist cop and way too much circumstantial instead of hard evidence.

The Goldmans are completely slimy and I certainly never thought highly of the Simpson girls either. Nicole was a party girl and just because she died doesn't suddenly elevate her to sainthood.

I do hope one day the truth will come out but I doubt it will.

A defendant can be convicted based only on circumstantial evidence, if there is no other conclusion that can be drawn from that evidence. As the jurors correctly concluded in that trial, there were plenty of other conclusions and reasonable doubt. The timeline alone showed OJ couldn't have done it -- there was simply not enough time for him to leave his house, drive to Nicole's house, kill her and Ron Goldman, then get home, ditch the bloody glove on the side of the house, then get inside, upstairs, and into the shower, then get dressed and outside again. The time he left his house was established by at least one witness; the time he was seen at his home after the time of the murders was also established by witnesses. And there simply wasn't enough time in between those two points... And don't even get me started on that cop...

You don't have to convince me. The whole thing shrieks of drug deal gone bad. OJ was just the fall guy. I was so ticked when they won the civil suit. I hope there's a special place in he!! for people like that.

I am all for justice being served but I wish the law would be rewritten to disallow civil suits in cases like this without a criminal conviction.

The book OJ wrote, according to the experts, has passages written that could have only been written by someone who had been at the scene. His long time friend, Gilbert, said he was guilty, and that he had helped OJ hide assets from the courts, helped OJ make sure that the gloves didn't fit and now that slime has written a book about how he helped him get away with murder.
In his most recent run in with the law, there is an actual eye witness-the guy he kidnapped and held at gun point.
The Goldmans and Nicole Simpsons family haven't, according to them, received one penny of money from the wrongful death lawsuit.
I think OJ is guilty of beating his wife, killing his wife and Ron Goldman, kidnapping at gunpoint.
He wrote a book describing exactly how he killed his wife and Ron, and everytime the camera was on him he just smiled like he was still America's hero.
I hope he rots in a jail cell and even that would be too good for him.
If you still don't believe he is guilty, read his book about how he did it and then read his friends book about how he helped him get away with it.

Nicole wasn't a saint. But she didn't deserve to be butchered like she was. Ron Goldman either. There were some pictures and *911 calls showing her battered and bruised by OJ. After watching this Gilbert guy on the Oprah show, talking with and apologizing to the Goldmans, admitting he'd helped OJ hide assets, told him to "just don't take your arthritis meds and your hands will swell up, and the gloves won't fit" They were leather gloves, and had been soaked in blood. When leather gets wet, it shrinks. The gloves weren't the same size after they'd gotten wet and shrunk.
I still believe he was guilty.

First, no one deserves to be butchered like that no matter who they are or how unsaintly they are.

Set aside your disgust with/for OJ for a moment, and consider this...

Yes, OJ and Nicole had had some pretty nasty fights in the past, and she had called 911 more than once. (But, more than one woman has been known to call 911 on a guy when the woman was doing just as much damage to the guy as he was doing to her.)

Having said that...

There was testimony about a time after Nicole and OJ had gone their separate ways. She was living, with the children, in that condo, which has a living room with a large window that faces the street. Nicole was dating some other guy. OJ came over one evening and saw that Nicole and this other guy were having sex on the sofa in the living room, with the lights on and the drapes open. The children were upstairs in bed.

Now, it seems to me, that if OJ had a wild, violent, homicidal streak in him, that it would have been more likely to come out on that particular night. After all, he was (rightly) concerned that either of the kids could have come downstairs and come smack dab face-to-body-parts with a naked guy boinking their mother. And who knows how many people happened to go past that window and caught a free show?

So, you think that OJ managed to maintain his cool that night, but on a night months and months later, when they both had moved emotionally further away from each other; on a night when earlier in the day/evening they had both been at a function for the kids and had gotten along just fine with no arguments; that OJ suddenly decided to go over there and kill Nicole, and because Ron Goldman happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time that OJ killed him, too? Nuh-uh.

It is not that hard to win a civil suit, especially after a sensational and highly publicized criminal case in which the defendant was aquitted by a jury yet considered guilty in the minds of the public who weren't privy to the evidence and testimony.

Although they haven't gotten a whole heck of a lot, they have, indeed, collected some money; and Mr. Goldman has also managed to obtain several pieces of OJ football memorabilia that have value.

As for OJ' "friend" Gilbert -- has he said any of this under oath? Has he taken a lie detector test? I didn't think so. He's simply seizing an opportunity to make a fast buck.

Nobody said she deserved to be killed nor did she deserve to be beaten by OJ or anyone else. But OJ didn't deserve to have his life ruined by a crime he most likely did not commit. Lindsey is following the exact same common sense line of thought I always had. I'm glad I'm not alone.

As I said before, just my opinion, I think he got away with murder, a lot of people think that, and now we are happy that even though he got away with it, he didn't get away this time. You know I feel so strongly about his guilt in Nicole and Ron murders that I don't even care if this was entrapment, I don't care if he was practicing for a school play and it was all a big misunderstanding. What I do care about is that he is behind bars, exactly were he deserves to be.

Frankly I find it hard to believe that anyone still believes that O.J. is innocent of murder, but whatever. What goes around comes around eventually.

I've had to call the police before on my EX. Believe me, I had done NO damage to him. He was bigger/stronger than I was, and I wouldn't even attempt to look cross eyed at him when he was in his 'Mood'. I didn't have to do a damn thing to start with.
What was OJ doing going by her house, looking in her windows? How often had he done that before? I don't know, I wasn't there to see it. I wasn't at the trial either. But I have my own opinion on wife beaters/women abusers. He got what he deserved in my opinion.

Gilbert did say under oath that he had a lot of OJ's belonging in storage at various facilities. Why? So the victims of OJ's crimes can't them.

I think some people would have us think that it makes more sense that a complete stranger would kill Ron and Nicole and not rob them, than to think that OJ, after seeing Nicole that very day, could have just went off the deep end, because of something she said to him, or just because he was unstable and just seeing her made him snap.

What was OJ doing going by her house at night and looking in her windows. He couldn't have been there to see the kids, because it was late enough for them to be in bed.

Sheesh. If you had actually watched the murder trial and listened to the actual testimony you would know that OJ didn't have a habit of just going to Nicole's house and standing outside watching her through the window. On one occasion when he went over there (since when did it become a crime for a man to go to his ex-wife's house to bring stuff for the kids that they had left at his house?) he saw Nicole and some guy having wild monkey sex on the sofa with the drapes open and lights on. There was no way to approach the front door without being able to look at that window.

I can only hope and pray that none of you (with the notable exception of WildChild) ever get on a jury for a capital crime.

First of all, just because
1) The prosecution in the murder trial was pathetic;
2) That the LA cops couldn't frame a guilty man;
3) That the jury was totally inept,
4) Etc, etc, etc,
doesn't mean that OJ was INNOCENT of murder. I too watched the trial very closely and I won't go into an argument since you have your minds made up on his guilt/innocence and so do I and I won't change your mind, nor will you change mine. I find it hard to believe that with the pile of evidence they would throw it out. But so it was.

This is the issue of his kidnapping, etc, case. There's video and audio of him committing the acts. Do you honestly believe there's "reasonable doubt" here? Maybe you do, and again, you won't change my mind, nor will I change yours so I won't argue.

He also has gotten away (in my mind) with the other crimes he's been charged with. Propensity is evidence too.

Please point out exactly where I said that having wild monkey sex, in your own home, on your couch, with the lights on, and the drapes open, is breaking the law. I'd be interested in finding where that quote would be attributed to me, because I have never said, nor thought, that. All I said was that there had been testimony in the murder trial that this had happened (and, by the way, no one disputed it; and Nicole's sister was well aware of it as Nicole had told her about it), yet it did not set OJ off on a murderous rampage.

Also, I have not said that I believe there is reasonable doubt in the most recent case (robbery and kidnapping). What I said is that I did not pay much attention to this latest "event" and that I didn't watch the coverage of it. However, I find it extremely odd that a group of guys sitting around in a hotel room with a bunch of OJ memorabilia just happened to be (video and audio) taping everything.

Jeez... doesn't this show you that they EXPECTED something to happen? That means they PLANNED to have OJ do something. That is a setup.

Just being "involved on some level" is not quite the same thing now is it?

Oh, by the way, for those of you who said/believe that if OJ truly was just trying to get back what rightfully belonged to him that he should have gone to the cops to have them take care of it -- he DID. And the cops told him they wouldn't get involved because it was a civil matter.

Perhaps he will endure the same treatment that he gave Nicole in jail. But I'm sure he will have the "country club" prison to go to.

Then why did he not handle it in civil court??? He certainly has lawyers he could hire to handle a matter like this.
