Jessica, I'm no expert, but if you are on photobucket already, it will be really easy. Just click the box for the pic or pics you want to share. Then go all the way to the bottom of the page and select the option on the far right for generate img and html code. It will take you to the next page. There you just right click on the first option, select "copy". Then come back to your post on the forum, right click and select "paste." Your pics will show up after you hit the "preview message" button. We will look forward to seeing more of your decorating. Luvs

I have a problem with numbers. I can't remember dates or prices because they just don't have meaning for me. Letters and words have colour and feel and taste and sound, but numbers? Nada. I didn't take math until grade 5, and boy did it kill me. I had the best teacher who really tried to help me learn the times tables, but let's face it. When you can't even add single digit numbers, no way can you learn to multiply and divide without a fight. Math came hard to me, but it wasn't impossible. I took high school and university level math classes and passed, even got very good grades. But it just didn't come easy to me and was a LOT of work. I learnt a method of adding large numbers, called "chunking". You remove chunks of easily added numbers, then deal with the bits left over. So if adding 123 and 234, instead of starting with the 3 and 4, you start with the 1 and 2. I would do it this way: Three hundreds, fifty, and seven. 357. Multiplication can be "chunked" as well by memorizing just a few from each number, then working from there. I know what 6x6 is (36). So 6x12 is double that so 72 - 60, chunk the ten from 12 so 70 plus 2). It seems complicated, but I can do it very quickly, almost automatically. But I still don't know all the "times tables".

We felt like kids in a candy store the first time we walked into Jonah's shop and saw all the amazing wood they had. It's amazing how nicely all the different wood we have in our house "play" together. :-) We have lightly stained cherry cabs in the kitchen (around the corner from the DR), unstained white oak floors, Golden Oak stained oak railings/spindles and interior and exterior doors, jambs, and moldings, pine windows and moldings stained to "match" Golden Oak, and a grapevine coffee table in the LR (looks almost like driftwood), all within view of the walnut furniture in the DR. We like the mix of wood species and colors. carol08--Thank you! I am extrememly happy with our kitchen and DR, but I will admit to seeing some others here that are absolutely lust-inspiring. Kitchen porn is a wonderful thing to behold! LOL jsweenc--you win the thesaurus of the day prize! Thank you for the superlatives! The bowl is a Michael Aram piece (loooooove his stuff!). I had remembered seeing it long ago in Bloomingdale's, and had a sudden notion that it would be just perfect on our table. Turned out, Bloomie's discontinued selling it, but I made some calls to a few of the Bloomingdale's locations within driving distance, and located 2 bowls at one of the stores. Not only was the bowl marked down drastically (clearance price!), but I had a store coupon which brought the price down even further--yay for us! trailrunner--the poor table hasn't served as a backdrop for any food of late--maybe when the bathroom work is done and stuff is cleared out (and off--my painting and wall hanging are still residing on the table awaiting being hung!). redroze--Thank you! MamaGoose- Thank you for the CL listing, but I live closer to Spokane, WA. For some reason, the powers that be at Yahoo list me near Boise...several hours away. LOL A drop leaf table would be nice, as would a larger table, but I don't think we have the space. I was thinking more of a bistro table size, since the dining table is much larger. Any projects will be over there....or next door at the old farmhouse. We're planning to clean that up and start using it as overflow (almost as you would a basement) in the next year or so. That means we'll have mom's craft table over there, my husband's man cave, our garden greenhouse space (old porch) and extra food and pantry storage. Probably even the big freezer. It's a little longer walk, but no stairs! :)
