Gas is going down here! Went down to 3.38 yesterday!

Down here. Paid 3.91 for regular...but saw it later for 3.89.

We have one gas station that has gas for $3.27.

That's the best it has been in a long time...I didn't fill up but I put in $30.00 worth.

Funny you should ask. I get emails of news updates from the local news station. This is the story featured in the email I received just a few minutes ago.

But no, I did not fill up today. Just didn't occur to me while I was out and about.

I had to top my tank off with "premium" today. I've been home sick all week, and I had to wait until after seeing the doctor to get that done, but it was worth it to have peace of mind. And, prices are still pretty low once again here in the Houston area!

Friend & I went to eat tonight and as we were leaving people were talking about gas going up $2.00 a gallon by in the morning. There's a station right beside the restaurant and cars were backed up nearly to the road. EVERY gas station in the area was backed up. My friends daughter heard it'll be $6.00gal by Monday!

It's $3.59 here, or at least it was yesterday! Neighboring town had it for 3.65. I'd better top off today if it's going up that horrendously by Monday!!

It's 3.85 and 3.95 (regular and plus) here in WV. Went up the day before we got gas!

I wish I had... but my tank is half full, and I just use the bike for shorter trips for a while...

It will go down again...

I live in Ontario, and our prices here were $1.20/litre which translates fo $5.44 a US gallon. On the news they were predicting that gas will go up 16 cents/litre overnite because of Ike in Texas.

Sure enough, this morning the gas is $1.36/litre, which is $5.44/gal!

Not exactly criminal, though - just business doing what business does when there aren't enough providers to keep competition active.

When they all go from the earlier identical price to another identical price, at the same hour ...

... and governmental investigations conclude that, yes, there really is competition in the market ...

... there may be half a dozen people in this area of about 350,000 who believe them.

Big business loves competition among their suppliers.

They love it among their customers.

They hate it on their own level ... and will do whatever is necessary to reduce it, by getting rid of their competitors.

And they have the legislators in their pockets - guess who pays for the political campaigns?

Gas went up here about 12 cents overnight. I was going to get gas but the lines were out into the street at most of the stations. I decided not to wait--I'll send my husband later!! LOL

I filled up lastnight at 3.69 for Chevron. My van likes it..I have to drive out of my way a smidge..but the MPG are considerably higher with Chevron.

I just got back from topping off my car. I got the regular unleaded gas for the low price of 3.82. I wonder what it will be in the morning?

Steadily going down here. $3.61 today.

I put gas in our old truck Wed. for $3.59.9. Last night the same station was $3.97.9.

We filled both trucks up at $3.68 last night. Today that station is $3.99.

Prices are definitely going up around here.

There's as much competition among the gas companies as in the banking industry here in Canada. NOT! All under the same umbrella. What one does, they all do. 16 cents/litre overnite is a crime though, no matter what anyone says. Especially when the price of oil has been steadily decreasing.

BTW, Since you're here today, I'm assuming that your surgery was successful and all is well. Glad to see you.

I live about 25 miles from Greensboro NC. I was just watching the news and they said some stations there have gas at $5 and $6 a gallon. Some of the stations are running out of gas and the lines continue at the other stations.

Its over $4/gal all day here.

News showed station that had gone up over $1.00 since last nite, and cars were lined up to get their fill. Over $4 for regular.

After reading some of this post, I filled up my tank. Luckily, it was still $3.49/gal. The stations were getting crowded but I didn't have to wait in line. A tank lasts me two weeks.

I live in East Tennessee near the Smoky Mtns. Thursday morning on the way home from work it was $3.49, this morning it was $3.68.. TV was predicting shortage, so we filled up.. 2 hours later at the same station it was $4.49, and some stations were out of gas... of course, all were blaming it on "IKE"... Lines were long at $4.49 per gallon and some reports said it would be much higher tomorrow at those that had gas.. Thank heavens all our vehicles are full right now..

I swear on my life we were busier at work than I can ever remember. I sold 3500 gallons of gas in 4.5 hours.I was none stop for at least six of my 8.5 hour shift.Kinda was hoping we would have ran out of gas,just not my lucky day.We are @ $3.89,some of the stations around us were already at $4.19.It's just crazy.

thirsty too....it was $35.00 to top her off.

$3.57 is pretty cheap...Henderson has a city
tax on gas and it's usually 10 cents higher
out here than in Las Vegas.

Gas went up 30 cents here over night. But we are helping to cause the price to rise. OH MY I heard its going to go up to 5, so lets run and top our tanks off.. Yep with everyone in the country hearing this and panicking, supply is going to go down and prices are going to go up..Esp with IKE and the temporary disruption.

Did I get gas because of the price being raised or the hurricane . Nope I got it Thurs night, because I was sitting flat on empty.

You all got me worried so I filled up this morning: $3.39/gallon, same as its been all week. No rush, no lines. I'm in north Missouri.

It went fron $3.57 to $3.79 in 2 days and my DH had to go to 5 stations today before he found one with a supply of gas. The others' pumps were dry.

This morning on the way into work, at the cheapest station it was $3.99 a gallon...On my way home tonight it was $4.29 a gallon. I saw on CNN today where a gas station on the west coast of FL had regular for $5.50 a gallon.

Bleh.

$4.04 for regular this afternoon, but NO REGULAR to be found!

And Super Unleaded is always .10 cheaper than "regular" - love that ethanol!

Haven't been out of the neighborhood, today--our annual block party has kept my pretty close to home.

But I did fill up yesterday. We were coming home from the country house and saw that gas down there was about 3.23-5 a gallon. As we got closer to home, it was up to 3.35-3.39/gallon. Then we saw a Shell station (DH insists on using Shell because of the cleaner they add to the gas, that's supposed to make your engine last longer) that was--TA DAH--3.19/gallon. We pulled right in and had the attendant top off the tank (as I always mention--only full-serve in our state).

We have found it interesting to follow the gas prices as we travel back and forth to the new house. It's not consistent at all--sometimes cheaper here, sometimes there, sometimes it's cheaper in the 'middle' of the 30 mile ride. We try to be aware of who's charging what, so we can get the best deal when we need to fill up.

I bragged too soon. Gas jumped $.15/gal overnight last night (Saturday) in north Missouri.

here gas went from $3.96 to $4.29. Gas gouging,ya think???

It was 20 cents higher than a week ago.
