You scared me.I thought you knew gas was going up more tommorow or something.I was about ready to grab all my gas cans and fill the cars.

You need to go to your local hardware store and tell the sales clerk in plumbing you want a Fluidmaster 400A fill valve for a toilet. This will work in 99% of the toilets. You can easily change this out yourself in about 20 minutes or less. The instructions are very informative and this will cure your problem. Good luck. I don't see why not, but up in Mass., who knows? You house could use plus/minus one gallon per hour of use. Another problem is that when the tank runs empty, the filter gets all sludged up and needs replacement. Then you have to bleed the line to the burner and hopefully, it will light on the first shot. Do you see why you should never let the oil tank run empty?

Our fuel prices have been steadily rising and rising over the last couple of weeks and this annoys me so much because the price of oil is quite low at the moment. No doubt the fuel companies are raking in the big dollars.

tjdabomb is probably right. This means: 1) you need to check to see if there is anything stuck to the sealing part of the flapper or the porcelain rim it bears against that might prevent complete sealing; or 2) you need to check the chain or whatever it is that connects the flush lever to the flapper (sometimes they get a kink in them and the flapper doesn't go down all the way); or 3) you need to get a new flapper ($5). Toilets are pretty simple,,,you should be able to prove to yourself that the flapper is at fault by pressing down on it and forcing it to seal: the tank should fill up with your hand holding the flapper in place (don't worry...the water is clean!). Please report back after you investigate further. (One other less-likely possibility: I just fixed a neighbor's toilet with this symptom. The nut on the inside of the tank that holds the flush handle in place was a little too tight and the handle would sometimes stay depressed, so I backed it off about a quarter turn so it could move easily and return to the normal position.

Ethanol from corn for fuels can't keep up with demand. Turns out its quite a pollutant too... and now there's a corn shortage? And we could have been making ethanol fuels much cheaper by growing many other products. It's getting lots of press!

We subsidize the corn growing out of our our pockets.. a tax burden ... now we pay more for the corn part of our cars fuel, which ups the gas price, which of course is taxed again at the pump at the higher price... really what can we expect - gotta be higher prices at the pump for corn.

Mr OIl say if corn can do it,,, so can that oil field .. its over $100 bucks a barrel now, its higher than its ever been. And going up.

Pump prices are going up higher than we've ever seen, thanks to all the corn in the news.

Something like that anyhow...
What about the new $4 pump prices, hollers some news guy to Mr Bush ,,, Mr Bush replied, did you say $4 for gas, huh ? And then bush stood there quietly with a very stupid expression.
He's going to have to start paying for his own filling station cards Â pretty darn soon now. Maybe he'll come up with a plan. Let's cross our fingers.
