Thanks so much for the greetings yesterday! I had a great 35th birthday with my family.

A couple of you asked about recent pictures of my kids. Here's a link to an album. Miriam is 4 months old now, and SO much fun. Sophie, Benjamin and Oliver love her to bits.

Wow! I had no idea we had so many younger people here! I guess I'm just not used to my peers liking plants as much as I do. Anytime I start talking about C&S, or chaparral and natives vs. exotic invasives, they start looking at me all funny. Although, I have had a few moments of vindication - when I go on hikes with folks from my old department and I'm able to talk about the specific plants and vegetation we're hiking through. :) Likewise, when I'm in a BBS and I start talking with folks about the C&S I'm buying. Mike: I agree, spread the love amongst the young-uns! Keep the faith alive! That's pretty cool that you bring C&S to the kids. They are truly fascinating plants, and I can just envision the imaginations they'll capture. :) Remind me again where your neck of the woods is? Josh: I, too, am not the least bit "Asian" (Greek & Lebanese on one side, English/Irish/French/German on the other), but I spent a year working in an "Asian" grocery store, where the majority of customers and employees were Chinese, Vietnamese, and...well, Mexican, which isn't Asian, either, but anyway. Not too many Japanese or Koreans - they had their own stores. I'd have to agree with you, though, Korean is a beautiful language. I enjoy Korean, Mandarin, and Japanese (food as well as languages). :) *CG*

Ha! You people are too kind. Dang kid turned 7 yesterday. I'm left wondering where those 7 years went. We all had a good day, and he is left with even more toys that we don't have room for in this house. I think it's time for another giveaway(we never throw the old ones out. I always donate them to some charity. Often times, barely even used) I will let him know that he got a birthday wish on my cottage board. Thanks!

Oh no, Westy! You sound like me!!! Believe me, I've done a number on my body with such determination, too! Thankfully, I am really very 'recovered' from my shoulder injury, and also, thankfully, I avoided surgery--largely because of insurance issues but it turned out that in my case, waiting the year rider, exclusion of anything medical to do with the treatment of my shoulder, really did pay off, because I do not feel I need it now! Hang in there---and avoid those tree roots, whatever you do--like you have to ever be told to do that, again!! LOL

I didn,t even know you had a baby!She is adorable.Last time I saw pictures of your kids Oliver was just a toddler.They have really grown. Happy late birthday!

Darn it - why can't I see the picture? Nicole, I remember when Oliver was born and would love to see how much he's grown. Can you email me the picture, please? Maybe you could upload it directly into this thread.

Nicole, your children are just as sweet as ever. Love your new little addition. She reminds me of Benjamin when he was a baby--or was it Oliver?? Anyway, she sure is a cutie-pie!

Happy belated birthday greetings Nicole. OMG Sophie is all grown up. I remember when you first announced you were having her.

I had no idea you were expecting a fourth or I had forgotten. My new (and first) grand daughter is about the same age. She will be 4 months on the 29th.

I always loved seeing and hearing about your family. Hope you keep in touch with us here at the KT.
