On the 13th. I was in shopping at Penney's for tennis shoes. I took two pair to the counter, both on sale. She scanned the one and the sale price marked on the box came up, but when she scanned the second pair, she said 'you won't believe this', it scanned at ONE DOLLAR!!! So from orig, price of $50, then $30, then $20(which was a good price) to one dollar! Can't beat that!!! Through the yrs. the number 13 has been somewhat lucky for me and paid off this past week also!! Another pair just like them, but a different size, scanned at $12( the clerk checked just for kicks). There was only those two left on the shelf of that kind. Love bargains!!!

I had similar happen to me!

Found two linen outfits that I liked at Ross's, both the same color but with different designs.

When purchasing one scanned for $19 and the other for $1.99.

I noticed the price difference and they rescanned and the second one was still $1.99. My lucky day!

Thanks for your comments. Debra, this is my first year with seedlings, other than one which I hybridized on a lark several years ago after I saw a TV program on how to dab pollen. I bought a few of the seeds for this year's blooming seedlings on the LA, but I traded cottage garden seeds for most of the others. Overall, I am pleased with the results, but I have had some that are just so-so and some that are dogs. I guess I do feel lucky for a first timer. Fairysoapgirl, I also like the Cancun Honeymoon seedlings. They both have high bud count, so I think I will keep them around all summer to see if they rebloom. Okbt, I had such high hopes on the Gary Colby seedling. I just KNEW I would get a big edge, but that did not happen. I will keep it around for a little while, but it had better shape up fast. Ann

I am here tonight for a favor. I am in need of quick prayers for my 24 year old daughter. She went to the emergency room yesterday because she first started having stabbing pains in her chest then her left side began tingling and she was dizzy and had difficulty concentrating. She was tested for stroke and bloodclot and when they could not find anything, sent her home. Her pain went away but not the tingling. I took her to the chiropractor and she didn't do any work on her because just simply looking at her and her reactions to certain tests made the chiro ask me to take her back to the er. I took her to a different hospital and they have admitted her. I know someone asked if MS was in the family and I do have a cousin. They are doing an MRI tomorrow and after reading the symptoms tonight, realize that Elizabeth has several of them and they even mentioned some patients had pains described as stabbing which is how this started. I am scared for my daughter and pray that MS is not the problem. Please keep her in your prayers and I will keep you posted. Thanks Margo

Among the peaches I had, the PF series really helped spread out the harvest time: PF 1 4-Jul Redhaven 3-Aug PF 19-007 19-Aug PF 24C 27-Aug The PF24C I liked the least for flavor, but the tree never took off with vigor. The PF 19-007 and PF 1 both bloomed and fruited well in years with frost-free springs of the last 4 years, but neither has the excellent taste of Redhaven, which is my preferred cultivar. Even though the harvest span would be shorter I plan to plant more Redhavens eventually because it really outpaces the others. A front-yard market orchard has all Redhavens in this area as well. Also, the PF's were less vigorous despite vigorous root stocks for all (bailey for first 2 and root stock from seedling for last 2), and so I think have had much more trouble with peachtree borers. Enough that the PF 24C was stunted after a couple of years and died and PF 19-007 died after 4 years though was better in vigor and flavor. Redhaven has not been impacted and does well all-around (Z5 Illinois).

I was in Sears and wanted a purse that was $40 something on sale for half price, it scanned for $4.99. I went back to check others that I liked. It was a seasonal clearance.

That is way cool! I try to buy shoes when there's a BOGO sale. Sometimes it's full price for the first pair, half for the second. I'd hate to pay $100 for one pair of shoes.

I was at a store (that has now gone out of business) where a jacket was mismarked. When I went to buy it, the cashier said she couldn't sell it to me for that price, that it was a mistake. I told her I was sure the store had to sell the item for the price it was marked, but she wouldn't do it. I asked for the manager, and the manager also wouldn't sell it to me for the price it was marked. She said it was a mistake. Pffffft...I never shopped there again.
