I am just learning the computer after being on WebTV for years. I managed to sign up for Face Book, but I cannot figure out how to erase my Face Book page. Could use some help please. Just please, don't try to talk me out of it. I have talked to my children and asked for help and they keep trying to talk me out of it. I just don't want to be on Face Book. I have always been able to get help here. Thankfully I was finally able to get over here from WebTV. Thank you in advance.

I personally would never talk you out of it, I do not have a facebook account so I can understand your wish to remove yours. Everyone has the right to their own opinions and decisions. Here are some links that should help you but understand it may not be as easy as hitting a button there are several steps to fully have it deactivated and closed.

using the various steps in those links should provide you with what you need.

You should not feel forced to do something you don't want to do. If you want to remove it go for it.

Thank you for your response. At least now I know where to look.You are right though, it is a hard process. It tells me that if I am sure that I want to delete it, I have to put in my password and read one of those codes that I always have a hard time with. It will not even let me post my password. But, I will get it done. My husband says that I am a stubborn German! Thank you again.

Hey Everyone! I would like to make my case again. I am not trying to take you folks away from this site! However, it seems so many have other things going on in their lives and are not able to be here. I check in here every morning and no one has posted. So, I would like to invite you to join me on face book on a decorating site that is a lot of fun. Not as talented, by any means, but they are nice people. I don't find facebook to be boring at all. I've been a member on online communities since 1998 and think that facebook is a fantastic way of keeping up with friends and acquaintances that are now scattered around the globe. I'm selective about how I send and accept friend requests from and I would say there are only about 10 people on my friend list that I don't know personally and they are friends of friends. Actually, a group that I've been a member since 98 lost someone very recently. She suffered from a brain hemorrhage and was gone within 48 hours. I never had the privileged of meeting her in person, but my loss is just as profound as if we people who met for lunch every week. Anyway, my community gathered together on facebook chat around the time they took her off life support and it was a great comfort to us to be together in real time (rather than on our message board) to support each other and celebrate her life. Gosh, sorry for the total off topic babbling. I was just anti-facebook for years, because I am protective of my privacy. But then I realized that my facebook experience can be what I want it to be and not what the "facebook machine" says it should be. Also, if you've been hacked, please do what lindyluwho said and let people know! I've had relatives that have been hacked and they didn't tell people, so some of their friends and family also got hacked.

I would never create a facebook page unless I could use the name "Lola". Don't want anyone in my family finding me as they all have pages on Facebook.

You could delete it and start over and then use an alias like I did. I call myself a name which I'm not, gave myself a different state, birthday etc. I told my family who I am and I love being incognito. No one can find me unless I want them as a friend. I enjoy the games and seeing all the family and friends pictures. I seldom post anything.
