I love pickled beets and grew and canned them one year. They are the only thing I had ever canned.

Never found beet that I liked!

I like both pickled and regular

I like them cold, cut into thin strips on my salad..........

I love pickled beets and beet relish.

mmmm.....oven roasted! Just like candy!

No beets! I grew them one year, thinking surely that fresh from my own garden they would taste better. Oh, goodness, they were beautiful, roasted and served on the sauteed greens.

DH loved them. But I still thought they tasted like sweet dirt. I did enjoy the sauteed greens, though.

I love them! Pickled or just cooked with lots of butter, salt and pepper. One year my former SIL grew golden beets, they were wonderful. Sadly, I shouldn't have them, too much sugar, but I usually have them once a year or so.

Making pickled beets this week, also beet relish with sugar and horseradish ... Yummy

We love beets both pickled and hot served with lots of butter, sand and pepper. When I ask Bobby to get a can of veggies from the garage he will always bring in beets.

I love beets.

Boiled, roasted or baked is fine but my two favorites are "Harvard Beets" & "Red Flannel Hash".

The only ones I like are the ones my Mom cans... they are sweet and really good!

I love them, and so did my daughter Jill. But the rest of the family thinks they taste like dirt. Who knew so many people know what dirt taste like? LOL

I roasted some today, as a matter of fact.

I love them - pickled, baked, roasted - all good.

Friend here makes beet soup and beet jelly. So good, but since DH refuses to have beets in the house I do not know how she makes them.

They are supposed to be so good for you that some people call them the best food to eat.

Love beet soup! and pickled beets.

While we are on the subject of Beets, check out this antique variety that they grow at the Old Sturbridge Village Museum. These beets were a main staple food of the early colonists. The tops were boiled for greens or fed to livestock while the beets themselves were roasted, boiled, baked in pies and they mashed them like potatoes.

The ones in the picture are laying across the top of a 20gal barrel and the beets are nearly a foot long.

In the raw they are not the prettiest beets I ever saw, but I can tell you from experience, they are without doubt the best tasting beets I ever had, especially the beet pie.

Never touch 'em.

I like pickled beets. The problem these are loaded with sugar and I'm a type 2 diabetic. Really never cared for stewed beets. Black pepper helps.

I love beets. I'll make a batch of pickled eggs and beets a few times a year, at his request. I love them oven roasted or sauteed in a bit of butter. And beet GREENS are an absolute favorite.

Love them fixed all ways, especially Harvard Beets.

I love beets!! A Russian ex-coworker made some borscht for a company get-together a few years ago and I still think about it!!!

My whole family loves pickled beets. I fix them at least once a month. I prepare two cans of the small whole beets at a time and that lasts 10 days or so. We are more likely to have them on the table than pickles. A long time ago I grew and canned some. Not any better and a lot more work than buying the small whole unpickled ones in cans and adding my own pickling ingredients.
Years ago we had a dog that loved them too. She would sit in front of the refrigerator and whine for them when she knew they were in there.

I love beets but I think I am the only one in my family that does. There are recipes for beets used in cakes but I have never made one.

I love pickled beets. Best thing on some salad bars. :)

Love beets! Boiled, roasted or pickled. My gramma used to make a yummy beet salad with boiled chopped beets, horseradish, mayo and hard boiled eggs on a bed of lettuce. Great on a hot day served really cold!

Love them! Both pickled and plain with salt, lots of pepper, and a little butter or margarine. Recently tried sliced beets oven roasted (brushed with a little balsamic vinegar) as a salad topper and they were great that way too.

Those look interesting, lazypup and I can just imagine how good they must be! I've never heard of beet pie.

Love them hot, with butter sugar salt and pepper.

I love them too! Sometimes I'll have them in a bowl (or in the can) on the counter ready to microwave when the rest of dinner is ready and I nibble on them till there's hardly any left.

dang, I used up all my beets given to me by BIL who grew the biggest beets I had ever seen. Roasted them with onions and they were yummy. Should have made borscht. I forgot all about it. Needless to say, I love beets.
