Zeetera - how nice of you to mention this. It seems that all too often the US is criticized for their actions (and many times it's justified) but it's still nice to hear a compliment every now and then.

Bermuda? My in-laws used to live there, on Glebe Hill--part of the Mid-Ocean Club golf course. (They were avid golfers.)

Wow, Alisande, your in-laws were lucky to be able to live in that area. Really nice - did you ever visit them there?

I thought it was you! My grandma was born in Bermuda and we still have a lot of family still there. Many of her siblings children and grandchildren. Every person in my whole family has some Bermuda sand somewhere in their house. :) I have my little bottle on my window sill.

I visited quite often, starting before I was married. Then for our honeymoon we traded residences, my DH and I taking "Camelot" (the house in Bermuda) and his mother staying in our apartment in Manhattan. For a while he was doing a lot of work-related travel, and I would fly to Bermuda and meet him there for a little break before we flew home.

Eventually they sold the house in Bermuda and built one in Arizona. I definitely preferred Bermuda. I still have a couple of shirts from Trimingham's. :-)

Oh, and I have a watercolor of the house hanging on my living room wall. The artist was Alfred Birdsey.

Alisande, that's amazing. Our paths probably crossed. Triminghams is no more, so treasure the shirts. lol, people were collecting their plastic bags when they heard that they were closing.

I think so but can't remember for sure because my dad had emailed the info a long time ago. I've heard about different family members owning bars, restaurants, rental cabins...but there are so many family members and since I don't know them all I can't remember what's what anymore, LOL.

I need to go visit! It would be relatively cheap for me once I was there! Several of my local family have gone for visits, my grandma goes as often as she can as she still feels like it's home to her. I think if she outlives my grandpa, she'll move back.
