Lunched at Glenda's diner: ham steak on Arnold's multi grain flat sandwich bread. Very very good. Didn't even have to leave a tip!

I went to a hog roast today at 2pm. Lots of people, lots of food and plenty of desserts. The pork tasted great,too. Although it rained as I pulled in and then a couple times during, we ate in a pole barn with tables. Since it was rainy and cloudy I wore jeans but got very warm as I've gotten used to wearing baggy cotton capris all summer. I was so glad to come home and change.

Right now it's 71, but so humid. I have fans running and can't open windows or doors until the humidity gets lower.
I could use a nap, but if I do that at 5:30p I won't sleep tonight.

We had leftover brisket, ribs and chicken with a big tossed salad. A longtime friend who moved to Alabama years ago is in town and coming out with his new bride. We will just have snacky foods, cheese, fruit, beef log and crudites with some wine and iced tea.

Mike is going to grill steaks. I will fix a noodle something from a package. Will also have corn or green beans with it.

Schoolhouse, your description of the hog roast reminded me so much of when we lived in OT, so I know you ate well. I miss those days. We had a hog roast at our house as a surprise party for a friend's 50th b-day. We probably had 50 people there and our house was still undergoing renovations. I think it was easier to entertain when I had an excuse for the house being topsy-turvy! Luckily it was in April and the weather was perfect for an outdoor party. Her DH's grandmother came from Chicago and was the life of the party. She was probably 85 at the time and wore lots of bling-bling. What a great sense of humor she had.

Wow, Lynn, wish I was there to help get rid of your leftovers. They all sound good.

Nita, wish I'd thought of steaks :-( I can almost smell them.

I had a nice meal at church today so this evening it is peanut butter sandwich and a big glass of milk.

Alex and I went to the Copper River Grill in Nicholasville today and had an early dinner. He had chicken strips and collard greens. I had his salad (he doesn't eat salad) and a bowl of she crab soup. I brought most of the soup home with me, couldn't finish it. Lauren helped me finish it off a little while ago. She and the other girls had McDonalds after spending the last two days swimming at one of Lauren's grandmother's house on the river.

I went to a wedding at 3:30 We had pretzels, marshmallows, and strawberries with a chocolate fountain. For supper we had a taco bar and we had wedding cake and nuts and mints and punch. Everything was really nice and good. I just had some homemade ice cream now that my hubby made.

Heavy rain and wind expected on Monday.

Thank goodness, I have FOOD.

We had a beet salad with pecans and chunks of gorgonzola , a chicken pot pie casserole and corn bread. White cup cakes with chocolate frosting for dessert.
