What's for dinner Tuesday?

Another cooler day and I had the windows and doors open until about 3:00. Sure do like these cool mornings with less humidity! I made Jasdip's cabbage soup today. The recipe makes a TON and it sure smells good! We'll have bread or cornbread with it.

What are you having for dinner?

My yearly trip to The Diplomat Deli for my usual: reuben, hold the dressing, mustard and mayo only, and chips.

Always so good!

Have luncheon dates the remainder of the week, and tomorrow it's with a KT friend! Yea!

I had lunch at Richards today with Amber and Alyssa. We both got the chicken, noodles and mashed potatoes and the salad bar. We only ate the salad bar and brought home our chicken, noodles and mashed potatoes. I gave them my yeast roll to take with theirs too. My supper was the mashed potatoes, chicken and noodles plus cottage cheese and sliced peaches.
It is chilly to me all day and very overcast. A few sprinkles this morning.

Sue, both your dinner and Norm's sound delicious. Hope you are staying warm. It seems the worst of the weather is over and the nation will get back to half-way decent temperatures. Pam, yes I can taste one speck of pepper in a dish. Normally, I love pepper. I can't remember whether it was the chemo or radiation that caused it, but I do know my taste buds are whacky now. Sure hope they go back to normal soon. Panera's broccoli/cheese is my fav! Raven, what can I say but "YUM". You are such a good cook! Laura, I'm surprised you are able to eat after Glenda fed you, but a little chicken stir-fry never hurt anyone :-) Shirley, I haven't tried the chipped beef. It looks like that polar vortex is on it's way out so we will all be happy to get out of the house come the weekend! Kittiemom, enjoy the pot pie! Jasdip, how nice of them to invite you to their Christmas celebration. I could eat my weight in baklava. It is just too delicious!!

That sounds so good, terri! Actually, everyone's supper (or lunch) sounds good. Robert asked for oven baked chicken pieces again. I basted the legs and thighs with a doctored BBQ sauce (added tobacco and apple vinegar) for the first half, then made a glaze out of that plus apricot preserves. It is sooooooo good! Sweet, sour, and spicy. Also made a batch of cheese biscuits and my cole slaw. He was a happy man! I'm always glad when he actually asks for something in particular....he helps with supper, by the way. He likes kitchen duty.

I cooked up a batch of my rice and mixed grains with added quinoa, celery, carrots, and onions tossed in with the broth at the very beginning. I added some smoked sausage half way through, cut into half inch rounds and a couple of big handfuls of kale at the end. Hot sauce to taste! Yum. This concoction is also great with chicken or shrimp....or as a side dish. Nice on a cold evening.

I've only been up an hour or so, and saw this thread and couldn't believe so many had already planned dinner. You'all got me. DH is gone for some days, so easy-peasy meals on the agenda here. Boca Burger last night.... most likely a salad and B-Burger again tonight. Beautiful Central Coast Strawberries for snack/desert. Does that make me first today????? I'm keeping my eye on the white flowers all over the Strawberry bed here!

I don't know why I just hit preview and submit. Duh!

Sue, I hope I get up the energy to make noodles soon. I just love chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes. Nothing like a carb high!!

Now that it's cooler, Nita, we need to cook out more. I need to learn how to work that big old grill, too. I'd love a burger on the grill about now!

I decided on comfort food for my meal.....meatloaf made with shredded cheese in the middle, mashed potatoes, and creamed corn.

We're getting a little rain right now.

I had a lovely lunch after golf so I'm not too hungry. Will probably make DH a BLT or quesadilla.

I am dealing with some kind of crud that is probably allergy related, sneezing, coughing and wheezing and just plain feel bad. I know it was probably all those darn cedar trees spewing their pollen while I was in Oklahoma.
So tonight I am taking a bag of frozen hot wings out of the freezer to heat for dinner, I am not very hungry any way.
