It is spring, isn't it? I woke up to find I had to scrape the car windows this morning to go to the nursery for our rose society meeting. It did THAT WORD last night! I wouldn't worry about the roses. 40 may slow them down a bit but it shouldn't do any damage. I haven't moved any of mine to shelter and we've been down in the low 30s a couple of nights. I did some more pruning this afternoon and they all looked fine.

I live about an hour from Toronto. It doesn't usually get this cool, this early. Last week we had a couple of days that were close to 90, this week we're hardly making 70 during the day. The plants are right beside the house, under an eave, so I thought it might be okay, I just don't want to mess up after babying these things all summer. So, as long as it stays above frost temperatures, they'll be okay outside?

It got down to 36 in Maryland. I know that's not freezing but I bet it's going to give my fig trees that just started leafing out a shock.

Owie, Well, it must be nice to stay warmer than the forecast. That only happens here in August. LOL Have fun with your new Min-Max thermometer and keep us entertained with your annal details of every temperature change. LOL Randy, I bet the plants are whispering excitedly to one another and asking themselves who gets to go first when the slow exodus begins. : ) After tonight, the 40s pretty much go away for us and we're looking at 50s/70s which is some of my favorite weather. As for rain, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain! Summer will be here all too soon and we'll forget what rain is. Should we start taking bets on whether or not the spring rains are going to flood your creek area again? That seems to have happened a lot the last couple of years. Dawn
