I was wondering if maybe it was her son and DIL. After everything Michelle has been through with the last pregnancy you'd think she wouldn't risk her life again.

If I had that many kids, my uterus would be dragging on the ground by now LOL

I heard the same thing, but thought maybe its one of her daughters or something, and its just a way to keep you "tuned in".

Personally,I believe it's their right to have as many babies as they like as long as they are able to support them and obviously they can.I will not judge them for that,just as I would not judge anyone for the number they choose to have or for NOT having any children at all.That is something between them and God and a personal choice.I DO agree with matti5.I would be very afraid to take a chance on having another one but that's me.However,they believe children are a gift from God and that He will not give them more than they can deal with.If she is I will pray for a healthy mother and baby and safe delivery!

I agree with lilliepad in that it's their personal choice and if they can support their children, then fine. I don't see, though, how they can truly be good parents to all those kids. When I taught 2nd grade and had a class of 21 or so, I often worried that I hadn't been able to spend enough individual time with each child. I can't imagine what it would feel like to know they were all my own children and I had to spread myself so thin.

Coral-I don't think an "ordinary" parent (like me for instance LOL) could be good parents to that many kids,but I don't think the Duggers are ordinary parents.From what I have seen they are very organized in most areas.(Did you see the episode when they all had Chickenpox?) The older ones help so it makes it easier,AND the dad helps too.They all have their jobs to do which I think is excellent training for the real world.I know a lot of people don't think it's fair that the older kids help out but I think they LIKE to help.The parents are very affectonate and "on hands" with all the kids. The kids seem to reciprocate and seem happy.I just see them as a big,happy,well adjusted family.It doesn't seem that any of the kids have emotional problems.They all seem to be intelligent and well educated AND pretty well behaved! I think maybe their faith has a lot to do with it too.
I just don't understand why people think someone can't be a good parent just because they have a lot of kids. I know many people with a lot less kids that aren't good parents! JMHO

I heartily disagree about it being "their right" to keep popping 'em out. We're all sharing this spherical lifeboat and even if the Duggers can "afford" 19 babies (or 18 or whatever), we're supposed to be caretakers of this earth.

As long as you realize that the only reason the Duggars can support so many children is because they are paid a huge sum of money to have nearly every moment of their lives recorded and played on television; that they receive a huge amount of products for free from the manufacturers because of the product placement during the shows, to give the companies publicity.

There is no way that they could afford that many children if they had to do it from working normal jobs like the rest of us.

And, yes, the Duggars have stated that they would gladly have another child, even with what they went through with child #19, if she gets pregnant again.

I would think that they would wait at least a few months longer before they have another one, and make sure that Josie is completely well. Also, maybe I'm wrong but I seem to see more affection coming from "Jim Bob" to his children. Quite often I see him carrying one little one or another, but very seldom do I see her pop a kiss on one the kids. Also, I wonder, are not any of them going to college?

It isn't just about how many you can "afford" financially...what about the children? Those children do not have normal lives. The daughters are basically mothers. That is not fair to them.

Of course they're not "ordinary parents". They have the rest of the kids raising the kids! LOL They're just the production factory, not the labor, and take it as a pun or not.

I don't even know if they still are on TV but i they are, the saddest part is people tuning in to it and supporting that. I wonder how many of those trash shows the kids are allowed to watch.

Whatever happens to them happens, good or bad and I really have no interest either way.

Amen cynic! I could care less about her and her incredibly fertile uterus. What I do care about is the people already on welfare or some sort of public assistance who get pregnant time after time and all the state does is just give them more money! My feeling is that you can't afford the children you have now, so why are we paying you to have more?

I don't know why people care and why they make these people (The Duggars, the Gossleins, etc. etc. etc.) rich by watching these ridiculous shows!!

I don't watch their show or the gosslins. I think it probably is the daughter in law. As for supporting their large family, it does make it easier when you declare your home a "church" then don't pay taxes, and also accept so many free products, which I wonder if they pay taxes on.

I love the Duggars and the Gosslins. Shoot me.

We have an issue with some of our large families....older children are raising the younger, to their detriment. I recall one family in particular....about 15 kids, and the older ones were great. Along came the two or three youngest and they were true hellions, and still are as they have grown up. Another mother died giving birth to her 13th child, so there is always that risk as their bodies wear out.

Lindsey-The duggars had More than 10 kids(I say that because I'm not sure of the exact number)BEFORE they got the TV show and seemed to be doing OK supporting them.They had started building their own home and were debt free! Yes,they make lots of money off their show but if I were in their shoes I would expect to be paid good money to have a TV camera stuck in my face all the time! Wouldn't you? And remember,they have to pay taxes on that money just like the rest of us and if the Gov. it's way they will be paying even more taxes on it from now on.So what's the problem?

We should encourage more males to couple up - then they could care for some foster kids, many of whom find their start in life rather difficult, being bounced from about a dozen homes, through their growing years.

Line all 21 of them up, the two soft spoken, dedicated to their children parents, then we will take out the oldest-Joshua, who has his own business and his own family that he is supporting in every way, then we we take out the other 4, who are over 18---darn them for being adults and staying in this terrible situation that their parents have forced them into, that leaves what? 14, well line all of those well behaved, respectful, fresh faced, cheerful, youngsters up and just get rid of all of them.
What our society needs is more people like this family, but I guess it isn't good enough just to be a decent person these days, for people to really like you, you can only have a set number of children-something that is acceptable to the masses, I don't know maybe 3 kids. Everybody keeps calling him horny--sounds like jealousy to me, they are still attracted to each other sexually OMG, can this be possible for a couple to be together so long and still have the hots for each other OMG OMG.
You know, I don't care if they have 50 kids, as long as I don't have to support them, go for it.
If one of the parents dies, as another poster mentioned, that still leaves 1 parent and 4 other adults in the house to take care of the family.
I love this family and I don't care who knows it. I just don't understand the bashing every time their name is brought up. Why do you hate them? I don't see anything there to hate. They all seem happy to me, if they weren't we would probably know it by now.
I mean if they bother you that much, don't watch the show, don't read the articles. If something pisses me off as much as this family pisses some people here off--I walk away, I don't get involved, I distance myself from it. Who needs the stress?

I have no problem whatsoever with the number of children the Duggars decide to have. It is completely their business. I DO have a major problem with people who put themselves on so-called "reality" TV, sensationalizing their family and exposing the kids to the assaults of the media. IMO,any family or individual who exploits themselves for money is sorry to the extreme. Reality TV of this type is the modern-day equivilent of the old circus "freak" side-shows. Those shows are no longer politicaly correct of course, but exactly the same stuff has moved to an even larger national and international TV audience. Hugely fat people, conjoined twins, people with weird deformities, and--yes--people with tons of kids, an oddity in our current day of tiny families. Sad.

I don't think the Duggars are responsible for the world over population---might want to check out all the welfare moms that have 5 or plus kids that we are all taking care of in one way or another.
The Duggars explained on national TV how their carbon footprint would problably be less than most families with fewer kids---for example, they buy used and save the difference---they buy at Goodwill or consignment stores--things that other people would throw in a land fill. They buy used everything from shoes to toys.
I wish my family were freaks, we are a little crazy, but nothing major, just your normal kind of crazy. We couldn't make any money from it. I wish we could, then I wouldn't have to work in this office every day.

It just boggles my mind why anyone would want that many children. But, each to their own.

I only wish my family was a bit more like them in the patience and devotion category. Though I don't watch the show any more, they seem like fine people.

I like them too, and I don't understand why someone that "doesn't" like them, is watching them ? Just turn to something that you do like ? Seems simple to me, and then you wont be bothered by them anymore.
I love The Biggest Loser, also been watching Too Fat for Fifteen, LOVE Ruby and cant wait till it comes back on,. I watch Pitt Boss and Little People and Dog, once in awhile, too LOL and Love the hoarders show's. But I like lots and lots of shows, and enjoy the fact that I have a huge choice, and I have a remote control, so its easy to pass up the ones that I dont care for.
I dont care of American Chopper anymore, so I just don't watch it. :-)

If you watched the show last night you now know it is NOT Anna that is expecting. It is one of the camera crew. His wife will have their first baby.
So all of you that are thinking the Duggars are adding more to the flock, it's not true.
I don't care how many kids they have. From what is seen on the show those kids are better behaved and with more responsibility and respect than most of the kids I see out in public.

i still didnt hear who they announced was pregnant BUT just think ladies shes been pregnant EVERY year of her married likfe something to think about..Sometimes pregnant AND nursing same time.But no times for hobbies etc.Spent all her like 20 years pregnant.Id shoot myself I had 3 10lb babies did a job obn me.Can you imagine if all her kids have 20 kids oh my.hope theres good genes in the family.I dont think anyone here said they hate them...

I have to say it's easy to see who is making assumptions and who isn't. It's already been said that this is not your ordinary family. Michele and Jim Bob's kids are well behaved, they play instruments, sing, do all kinds of stuff. I don't think they have a perfect life just a good one. And with out a doubt there will be a wild child or more out of the group but overall they are a great bunch of people. Not afraid to work, be responsible , love and care for each other. I have never seen either parent get bent out of shape over their kids. For the past few months Jim has taken over the business of taking care of the kids while Michele takes care of their premie in/near the hopital. He took the kids on several bus trips, helped friends build (onto) a house and pretty much took care of the kids with some help from in laws. Michelle stayed with their baby in the hospital with occasional visits from the family. This fall the kids will be back to home school I assume. Michele is back home and they are trying to get back on schedule.
I recently read that they want all their children to have higher educations although they hope that their girls may have the opportunity to be moms that can stay home to raise their own children . ( what a concept!) They have a child that wants to be a pilot. I can't remember right now what all their plans are. I do remember Michele saying that the girls can where what ever they want when they are adults. The girls do wear skirts but she won't object if they do something different as an adult.
They have their convictions but they aren't unreasonable people.
I agree , at least they take care of their family, quite well. There is no need to be concerned about them. The teens popping out surprise babies, leaving them to be raised by the grandparents should be more important. Men who are not responsible for their children, parents who keep having kids- who live off taxes should be more important . Be cranky about the dead beat families who don't think they have to be involved in their children's education or possibly not much of anything in their kids lives at all. I see it all the time. The Duggars are the polar opposite of societies broken families.
I'm not worried about Michelle's uterus. More about her eclampsia and the chances of it happening again. I'm interested in hearing how they feel after having Josie.
The media, really can't be trusted to tell the whole truth. The Duggars have a website that answers alot of questions about them. That would be the way to get accurate info on them.
