Lew: why are you so hostile??? You've just never explained this. Others on this forum have postulated as to why, sometimes offlist to me, even. I just have a hard time believing or understanding anything but what a person writes. I'm willing to believe what you write. I would like to hear more from you about why you are so suspicious and negative; it reflects very badly on you when you won't respond more fully or honestly. Bias Happens. Any scientist or student, really, knows this, should know this, should expect it. To some of us, life is constructed around a never-ending search to whittle bias away, but that is an explicit acknowledgement of its existence. Always. But you don't write much, and you don't write fully and you don't answer direct questions. It is really upsetting, really. What kind of a troll or shill or dishonest person are you? Most posts have been to bump up a negative Capital thread, or otherwise seem to want to put a negative slant onto Capital. You've never posted in any of the other forums here, just the Appliance Forum. And with a seeming bias. So, if a very informative (and humanly biased, as we all are) forum member is to be publicly called out for "abuse", it's only fair that you disclose your own identity and agenda. I've run out of memory for how many "what xyz or pqr said" responses I'd like to make. All of which speak to the oft-summarized point that posters at least here (can't speak to readers only) really aren't so simplistic to swallow whole-hog much of what gets claimed and posted. This is one data point filled with individuals contributing anecdotal experiences. We get it. So .... where do you fit in? No this is not a joke. Yes, Jesus wept and Im reminded of that daily. No I dont think reckless and irresponsible alcoholism is a good example to raise children with. Look at him, look at me, we were raised by alcoholics. Im trying to ascertain if all of this is in my head or if I make mountains out of mole hills? He didnt actually cheat with a gay man-- He said he felt like he was drugged, he was there to promote his business and had to be on his best behavior, and then he drank vodka. He said he didnt remember a thing and couldnt wrap his head around why he would forget about Me.? Yes, that was real bad and he swore off alcohol for 2/3 weeks. The massage on my friend? I intervened and took friend home, he said he thought he was just an affectionate guy, I dont know, it seemed closet gay to me but I dont know any gay people and I have no idea about that. What I do know is he was abused as a child, sexually and physically and emotionally and so on. I think this is the underlying cause of it all. I grew up with it as it occurred to my mother, grandmother, aunt, brother. None of it is unbelievable anymore, just sad and sick and scary. I watched my mother pull it together to be an awesome provider, but she kept all the pain inside and released it with alcohol at nite after we went to bed. Still harmful, even to this day when she likes to drunk call her fiends and family. It surrounds me. I've done everything but slip away to the other side of the world. Look people, Im biding my time here. Im gaining insight, strength, and weighing tolerance against recourse. What Im saying is, I need back up, and I need to know Im not crazy, I need to know that when the other boot hits the floor as im sure it will, can I load the kids up discretely and go to my moms? Call the cops? How do I run away and where and do I present the ultimatum at that point? Do I give him another chance? Its so firkin hard because his other side, the functioning side, when hes happy, is so pleasant and wonderful and lovable. So funny and sweet and charming. The two sides of him are like Jeckle and Hyde. The kids adore him, especially our daughter. She deserves a dad, they both do. A Dad who tries. Will he succeed? Yes I do think he can. Im waiting it out, for the insurance to seek out a marriage counselor, and a therapist Im sure will be referred. Thats an important step in all this. no, i didn't post my concerns in the paint forum since I was pretty sure what was causing the problem and, therefore what had to be done. sure enough stripping them does make a difference. though it was another whole step, and a lot of extra work it was worth it. i did another test yesterday and the primer now sticks. and as you know, this is very important. one more thing i should mention, a friend who use to be a professional painter, told me to to add some FLOETROL to the paint (as per the instructions). he was right, the difference with the Floetrol is substantial... and I am using BM Impervo which is a self-leveling paint. not only does the paint go down smoother but i could also put down a lighter coat. the result is so close to a spray finish that i doubt anyone could tell that they weren't sprayed. (NOTE: Floertrol is for latex paint only. if you are using an oil-based paint use the oil version) since I am going to all this trouble and seeing that that i will be living with these cabinets for many years I would rather spend a little extra effort now, and an extra day or two, if it means getting a much superior finished result. the only extra advice I would give is to be very careful with the corners and in the grooves. This is where paint drips tend to occur and show-up. i will post some pictures when I am done.

OK, I gave in and prepared a pasta dish strictly according to the directions. I cooked Ronzoni #21 Large Shells with a lot of water and the recommended salt. I used the strainer method to wilt the spinach leaves. Prepared the sauce and fresh grated Pecorino Romano cheese. Everything was SALTY. I used little of the cheese. Even the spinach was salty. My tomato sauce has no salt added but even that tasted salty. It may well be that since I never salt anything when cooking that I have become accustomed to not having that much salt. Anyway, I began to wonder if I could smell salt in the air... As I see it, when the cook salts the water, it takes away my choice to control the salt. On the other hand, if someone grabs the salt shaker before tasting the meal then it is an insult to the chef. ======= One additional quirk with cooking this pasta with a lot of water: Most shells end up being as single in the sauce. Many are nested as double and few are triple in one. On the other hand, minimum water will make many many more double up leaving fewer as single. I prefer the mouth feel of the changing densities of pasta from single shells to multiple shells as one. A single nest of three has the mouth feel of a twirled fork of spaghetti.
