The Kitchen Table

Yet another Facebook question...,

Friended a person. Yet I don't know if that person has accepted my request or not because that person doesn't show up in my friends list nor I in theirs...BUT on my wall I see where this person is now friends with X and Y(and that's happened a couple of times).

Can anyone explain this to me...??

Be patient, it sometimes takes awhile for the computers to update all the stuff.

Doesn't seem fair that they can read your wall without accepting your friend request, which I think is how it works.

And you'll notice that you can't see a list of people who you've extended a friend request to.

I've read that you are not to clean the fiilter media...ever. I built my own biofilter...not a skippy but I am about to add one due to all the good things I have heard about them. My pond is in the stage of green pea soup also. I have heard it is a stage that ponds go through this time of year. I am trying the quilt batting. I have it in the top layer of my biofilter and it is catching quite a bit of the algae. I purchased mine from Michaels. I also am using it around my pump. I am letting it run two hours around the pump because it gets pretty dirty quickly. This works great to catch all the small algae. You have to be careful to not catch the batting in the pump. I guess we will see how good it works. I'm thinking about building something that would add some type of barrier between the batting and pump to avoid this problem. Probably a project for tomorrow. Good luck! If anyone has good ideas to get the pond clear I am open to the hints as well!

Facebook does use e-mail addresses. Even if you did not give FB permission to use your address book, you gave them your e-mail address and others who may have have your e-mail address may have given FB access to their address book (you might need to read that a few times!). The best way to avoid that is to use a throw-down e-mail address, but like lindyluwho said, the whole point of FB is connecting with people.

Do what I did, register under a fake name but tell your friends and family who you are and make a fake birthday etc. I used my real first name so they'd know it's me and, even then, my daughter (who knew I was going to do this) asks me if I know Sheila ______ who is asking to be her friend. hahahaha when I reminded her she roared. I get no requests now. The upshot of doing this was I got 23 happy birthday posts on April 1st which is not my birthday. I thought they'd catch my joke with that date. NOT.

Zeetera, you're right, there is no list, but you can tell your friend status by going to their profile:

~ If you see Add As Friend, then you don't have a friend request pending.

~ If you see Awaiting Friend Confirmation, you'll know that you've sent a request that hasn't yet been confirmed.

~ If you see a Remove Friend link, you'll know you've both confirmed your friendship.

Yea but you have to remember all who you extended the invitation to. It used to have a list but they took it away (at least I think I remember one).

Ah, I see. I don't friend a lot, and I can remember them easily. If you were to friend a lot of people that you can't remember, I guess that would be a problem.
