I'm trying to help somebody.. but I need help in order to do it..

I work with a really nice woman whose computer crashed and she cannot put pics from her camara to a disc now. I have the same camara that she does and offered to do it for her but now MY program to transfer the pics to the disc won't work.

Is there anything on the internet that I can download that will allow me to do this?? I feel bad because she had her hopes up..

Did her camera not come with a cord that plugs into a USB port? If so all she has to do is plug it in and go to windows explorer and then go to the camera and select the pictures and then transfer them over to her computer or write them to a CD. Her camera has to be turned on in order for the computer to read her picture files.

Heather, that USB port is how I downloaded her pics to my computer.. so right now, I have her pics on my computer, but no camara. I know this probably sounds dumb, but can I still send the pics to a disc via the way you just said if they are just stored in a file?

In my garden: 1. Yes. 2. Different types of Lilies come in turk cap shape. I have one turk cap Aisiatic, a few species and tiger that are turk caps. Here's the order of bloom in my garden, overlapping somewhat: Asiatic - longiforumasiatic- species - trumpet - oriental - orientpet - orange tigers - species. This year everything was out of sync. The asiatics & longiforum bloomed almost at the same time as well as the orientals & orientpets & species. Weird. 3. Trumpets, orientals, orientpets and many species are fragrant. I heard some new asiatics smell good, but I don't know which. 4. Yes. 5. Darker trumpets (Golden Splendor & African Queen) fare better in afternoon shade. Full sun bleaches them. The orientals are OK in fulll sun...could be because a lot of them are white or have white bands to reflect light. Orange tigers do well both in full sun & part shade. They grow the tallest in full sun. 6. Tigers carry virus, so say various sources. I had tigers in separate beds from my other Lilies for many years with no ill effect. This year, many of my Lilies fell victims to virus. The culprits were the newly planted lilies, not from the tigers. 7. My orange tigers face down, therefore turk caps. 8. 6"- 8"-10" depending on the types. Some species come in tiny bulbs. Brilliant yellows I have are asiatics and trumpets. There are yellow orientals-longiforum/asiatics, but mine are not as brilliant as asiatics. same with orange. Golden Stargazer & auratum are yellow and not asiatics. There are other yellow orientals & orientpets as well. Orientpets are fragrant, the blossoms are large, the plants are very tall and bloom later than orientals, thus extending the blooming season. Never tried van Bourgondien, but am tempted, because I had a very bad experience with B&B this spring, besides the bulbs were much smaller than before.

Cindee, I don't have a photobucket account so I use tinypic.com I right click on a picture in my easy share album. Then choose edit. Once that picture comes up, go to image and click on that, from the drop down menu, choose stretch and skew. I use 45% 45% and hit enter, Then I go to my file menu and choose save as and save it in My Documents with an appropriate name. When you are trying to post here, minimize this screen, then go to google and type in "Tinypic.com" Once it comes up, go to browse and then go to your documents and choose the picture you saved. Click on the name of the picture. Tinypic will ask you to type in 2 words to load your picture. Once you have done that, choose the top address line, click on that and choose copy, then click on this site that you have minimized, and right click and choose paste. You can keep going back and forth between the sites to add more pictures to your post. It sounds more complicated than it is, and believe me, if I could learn how to do it, anybody can. So instead of going back on GW last night, I got sucked into watching the Notebook (again). I have a love/hate relationship with that movie. I hate that I love it. Thank you for taking out the time to respond. I dream about kitchens at night and it really is wonderful to get some help. Microwave - looks like everyone agrees that a GE Spacesaver is the way to go. I agree. Now, where to place it? Should I keep the frig where I currently have it and put it next to there? Or should I have the frig where I have it in my proposed layout and keep it next to there (above the DW)? Someone told me I should keep the cabinet above the DW for dishes coming out of the DW. But it also makes sense to have the MW right next to the frig. Banquette - StacyLH - love the idea. That's what I thought of originally but changed my mind because a lot of people said it was uncomfortable. After reading the threads on them on GW, I guess the trick is to make sure to do the banquette right so it is comfortable. I will do another search on GW to see if there is any guidance on dimensions, material, etc. on it (I spent 30 minutes on it this morning but haven't had a chance to read all the threads on it). Stacylh, I actually love the photo you found of the banquette. It looks perfect my kitchen and it also looks comfortable. I also need to see if I can get DH on board with it.

jmdkc, I have only a few dresses and no long gowns. This is my Florida house so no long winter coats here. I have a closet in our den where I keep my sun dresses. With this design you could easily divide the rack for some long items. These were custom by a small company here in Florida. I was surprised at how many small companies there were. We did a California Closet for daughter up north and it is low quality compared to this one. In deciding, it all comes down to what you have and where else things are stored. Up north I have loads of sweaters on shelves. But, I have other drawer space in the bedroom. Figure out how you want your space to function.

You can use a burning program to burn them onto a DVD (holds more) or CD...

Do you have a flash drive or something like that? Otherwise you could email them too.

My way is a little longer than some folks, but it works for me ...

If the pictures are on your computer, create a new folder on your desktop and put them all in the folder.

If your computer supports writing to a CD, then insert a new CD in the drive.

Open up My Computer and click on the 'drive' where the CD is. Re-size the box that opens, so it's a bit smaller, and move it around on your desktop until you can see the folder where you put the pictures.

You can either drag the whole folder onto the box that shows what's stored on the CD (easiest)

Or you can open the folder and drag the pictures individually to the box that shows what's stored on the CD

When you're ifnished, there should be a command to 'write files to the CD' or something like that ... mine appears at the top menu under File I believe. Click on that, and the computer will finish it up.

If you close all the windows, take out the CD ... then put it back in, you should be able to see the pictures you jsut stored there. That's what you can give your friend, then.

And when you know she's got it and can see her pictures, you can delete the folder from your desktop and empty the recycle bin so it isn't taking up space.
