Please talk lilies with this lily newbie:)

This was my first yr to grow ANY lily bulb- and I'm SO impressed I'm going to get more to extend my bloom season and color range.

The type I have is orange asiatic some with and some without spotted petals. So I'm comparing these others with this types- if that's not a fair compairison please LMK.

This info is based on what I'm reading and guessing at.

If it's wrong LMK

1.Asiatics bloom first then orientals /oriental hybrids

2.Turks caps, trumpet lily, tiger lily all bloom about the same time as orentals

3.Only trumpets and oreintal/o. hybrids smell good

4.All are about as easy to grow as asiatics in Illinois, with wet springs and drier summers, and they all bloom for about the same length of time.

5.Full sun tends to bring out more brilliant color- not fade it.

6.Tiger lilys carry some kind of disease that affects the others.. so that if you have tigers you can't have the other varieties.

7.tigers tend to face slightly downward but not as much as turks caps!

8.They all get planted 6-8 inches deep.

What do you recommend in any of these types in brilliant yellow?

What do you recommend in brilliant orange for the types that are NOT asiatics?

and do any of these come in a- not pink-shade of purple??

What are orientpet besides expensive? and why are they worth the $?

Is van Bourgondien catalog co. as good as Brent and Becky, and McClure and Zimmerman?

sorry so many questions- thx for any advise!!

Karen
