That's it, I'm moving south. Who's coming with me?
Comments (24)We always want weather that is different from the weather we're having, don't we? On a 100 degree day in July, we're thinking longingly of October days with a high of 70 degrees. On 10 degree days in December, we're longing for a 60 degree day in March. After the umpteenth consecutive day of rain and clouds and the threat of hail, flash flooding, and tornadoes in May, we're thinking about a lovely, dry, sunny Fourth of July. Why can't we just learn to love the weather we have at the time? I suppose that's just human nature. I know we'll be miserably cold (and for some of you in northern OK, dangerously cold in terms of wind chill) for the next couple of days, but at least we won't be buried under a blizzard of snow. We sure could use some rain, and if the weather does what it always seems to do, the rain will arrive just in time to make it too wet at the proper spring planting time....See MoreOK - who sent us the snow!!!
Comments (16)Aunnie thanks for the kind words. i will admit i hate snow at the best of times and we don't need it in may. however, it went up to a balmy 46 today! - lol. yes, i will also admit we have great kids, no problems with the law, no drugs or drinking, infact ds dropped his long time girlfriend of 2 years because she started running with the wrong crowd. right now he is going out with a delightful young lady also of 2 years and is catholic as well and comes from a great family, so we are blessed. i hope you didn't think i was rude about you caring for your mom, but we are kindof the same age, -- i 49 and am home ALL the time, 24/7 with Al, and i have no help except for the kids (oh, everyone, his mother and sister came by for 15 minutes yesterday, to whine about something stupid, but they didn't get the answer they wanted so they left!) i keep busy by quilting and knitting, and mostly donate things i make for worthwhile charities, if i don't have crafts i don't know what i'd do, they are a God send to me. i wanted to tell you that i was worrying so much that i lost alot of weight, - i am 5 ft 10 and weighed 119 lbs, no good, with the paxil (or if you go and see your doctor he will put you on what he thinks is best for you), these pills have made me eat and very healthy i must admit (we never did eat fast food stuff) but now i weigh about 130 so alot better, i would also be up all night, believe me when i say there is nothing on tv at that time - lol , but i now can sleep almost all night. aren't prescriptions draining, we have a plan where you have to put out 100 percent and wait and wait for get 85 per cent back, and with bills of about 600.00 a month - oh don't get me going - lol, but atleast Al still has benefits from the college where he works (he has academic upgrading, math, english and a computer lab to help adults get their high school, so they can get into a college programme, it is very sad to see a man of 58 come in with a grade 7 or 8 education, but worthwhile when they finish the 3 year programme). anyways, aren't everyone just great here, as i said before, we will probably never meet, - except linda (glitter) and i, and i hope we still are linda! - lol, but see you are writing back, so that's really, really good because you can divert your mind on something else and you get to just chat with super nice folks! anyways i've rambled on and on to much, and my furry friend wants me to take him outie (too afraid to go out alone, he needs his momma!) so try and have a restful sleep! Gabby, i'm going to try that cyanne pepper, next time i have a being of amigrane, i did try the feverfew and it didn't work, al said it only gave me really bad breath! he tried grape seed extract, for pantom pains, i read a couple of articles, but they didn't work for him, but then again, everyone is different, but right now, i'm game for anything! thanks for the tip! debbie...See Morepity party? ~bit long
Comments (12)How are you feeling JNM? I'm getting a bit of a sore throat myself, hope it will blow over.. I've taken your advice!! Funny that I already told SD13 a few hometruths earlier that day, and then I read your post JNM, which kinda confirmed I wasn't out of line. Not that I doubted that actually, I'm just very careful saying anything about their BM. But this time I did point out that we ALWAYS plan our events in our weekend so the skids can be there, and that I don't understand why BM can't do the same. I also said that we are still going to do what we were supposed to do (after dinner go for coffee and cake to our favorite place) and we are NOT rescheduling anything in OUR weekend. BM wanted the skids home after dinner, to get ready for the party, but she will have to wait until we've had cake. And FDH did suggest they might want to come over on his birthday then, if they are going to this other party. So the skids are now coming over on the Monday for dinner. I'm amazed BM has allowed it, but I guess she still feels like she 'won' this one..sigh.. FD you are right that sometimes skids just don't want to hurt other parents' feelings and come up with excuses. I've been known to do this myself :-) With my skids it's easy to tell the difference. If they just want to change something themselves they are not so worried about asking (we always let them go so nothing to feel worried about) but when BM puts the pressure on the skids become anxious and very persistent straight away. That is where we can tell the difference. And this time I'm putting my money on pressure unfortunately, as it is mostly. But not always....See MoreJohn Edwards admits affair
Comments (46)I realize that many feel that no woman has ever cheated on their husband, so I won't even address that. Lots of comments to be made on that but I'll refrain. For the most part I think it's irrelevent to the big picture. I do however tend to agree with, I think it was Ross Perot who said he would never hire a divorced person for his management and higher job positions. Like he said, if you can't be trusted to keep your vows, how can you be trusted to perform a job with integrity? People can talk about morals and ethics but think nothing of breaking vows. Hmmm, so when you take an oath of alliegance, or swear to tell the truth, what does that do for the credibility of divorcees? But with 2/3rds of all marriages ending in divorce, nobody thinks a thing about a politician (or actor, or any other high profile person) who breaks vows. Interesting hypocracy. It does happen, and yes male or female, has always happened, and always will happen. Is it newsworthy when it's involving high profile people? Sadly, yes. It's newsworthy. And it's typical for them to lie about it. The media knew well of Jack & Bobby's indiscretions but in that time they didn't have the foxy news style of sensational screaming reporting. They valued the office more than the person. Even in the days of Watergate it was rebellious reporters that broke the story while the bulk of the media stayed quiet. Now the pendulum has swung to the other way where it's major news if someone doesn't wash their hands after using the bathroom. If I'm going to consider an affair or something for a person's reputation, I'm more inclined to consider the reaction when caught than the incident since the incident doesn't have much to do with anything or anybody else. I think they should just use the overused "irreconcilable differences" and be done with it....See Morerjlinva
