DH back in hospital

He's had several heart surgeries and was in hospital the week of the fourth of July for transfusions . Has had to go back every Fri. for iron infusions. Last week he wasn't feeling well and was having some pain in right side going around to the back. When he had his infusion Fri. i told the nurse about it and next thing we know the docs there talking to him and he's being sent for a ct scan. He has four kidney stones 8mm and larger and a cyst in tip of kidney.Just when we think things are calming down something else comes along. Now there trying to decide what procedure to do because of his heart.

Ann, Yep I was on bed rest with Hayden, but it was 10 weeks of contractions. With the contractions it was just more of aproblem with my bein in pain and not a threat with the baby. With the high blood presure and protein in my urine it is hard on the baby. I have been on bed rest and also blood pressure meds my blood pressure has still been higher than they want. We go in for a check tomorrow ( if we don't get the 10 inches of snow and 55 mph winds they are talking about) and they will do an amnio on Friday to see if the baby is ready. The kids are all at my folks and I miss them so much, but bed rest is impossible with 3 little helpers. Stacie

Hi all, Dang, my life just needs to SLOW down. Dh is doing well but Sunday morning he woke up and it was plain to see that the depression had hit him like a ton of bricks. Mind you that is even a bit funny since he is a shrink and knew it could happen but did not think it would happen to HIM! With lots of TLC he is feeling better and the last of the site pain is better. Which is good since I am searching the calender for a good day to pencil in my breakdown ;-) Thanks for all the nice comments.. I do my best to keep up and keep moving and that is a great help with the Lupus symptoms. You know the funny part was that for years no one caught it that it was the *L* that I was dealing with. It was only after the death of one of our children that one doc started to piece things toghter. Mind you.. once all the facts were together it was pretty plain and it turns out I had been flaring since I was in about 8th grade!! .. such is life. I always figure that there are others with less than me and more hardship so I need to suck it up and get on with life and walk this earth to help others. I finked out tonight on the dinner thing and just got salads from a local deli since I was tired.. but I am still looking at new ways to eat... funny really since I have been actually DREAMING about Holandaise sauce!!!! Good morning, y'all, . Thank you for the kind words, Mike. Laura, I will definitely hit you if I ever head towards Annapolis :). And thanks to all of you for the well wishes for Dave. It means more than you know. . He's better, I think. He's starting to be hungry again, and he now eats 3 meals a day. Granted, they are much smaller meals than what he used to have, and they are almost fat free, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We haven't had any setbacks since he left the hospital, so I must be doing something right in what I feed him. We are scheduled to go see some big wig at Hopkins that is specializing n Pancreatitis, so we'll see what he tells us. . The trees have been spending their days outside (except yesterday since temps were in the friggin 40's), but I've chickened out on the nights when I saw it go below 50 this week, so I brought them back in for the nights. As soon as it's steadily staying above 55, I'll just leave them out 24/7. I can't wait for that, either. I am so sick of that rain and constant drizzle and cold. I need some sunshine at least as much as my trees do. . I've also just finished giving them their first feed since last October when I brought them in for the winter, and their very first FP feed, since we decided to stop giving them the organic Grow More fertilizer I gave them last year. I've fumbled a little with the strenght to give them, and figured out 1/4 Tbsp for 1/2 gallon, as described in THIS POST I intend to use the "mikerno-approved method", and feed them every day about 10 minutes after their daily watering. I was uncertain of my FP per gallon proportions, so I decided to start low at 1/4 Tbsp / 1/2 gallon (1/2 gallon being the volume of my "fertilitzer pitcher"). . I haven't seen any scales appear back, but that doesn't mean squat, I still have to redo the Neem oil next week (Tuesday will be a week since my last application), and then the week after that, again. . I'm sorry I'm not contributing more to these boards, these days. It's just that by the time I'm done with all I have to do, I'm so drained and bone deep exhausted that I can't summon the energy to actually "write" anything. I do read your posts and replies, though, it's relaxing and allows me to think of something else, no matter how briefly. . I hope y'all have a great week end. God bless, . Atheen

I'll be praying hard for BOTH of you. Big time health problems are almost as hard on a spouse as the patient!

Know sooo well what you must be feeling- DH has been suffering from such since 1981 & has had 15 surgeries including transplant, cancer twice, etc. & now has diabetes & dementia. Asking God for strength & endurance is my mantra. Knowing HE is always there allows me to carry on.

May you find all you need in Him as well,

I'm sorry he's not feeling well, but it sounds like you have great doctors and nurses taking care of him. That's great and must make you feel a little better, I hope.

Darn, I hate hearing news like this. Enough is enough. You both need a long break from UNhealth so that you can recoup and get strong!! I pray that all goes smoothly for him, and this is it........finished!!

Patches, first, you both have my prayers. Secondly, ask if there is a dr in the area that can do radio frequency ablations. I didn't go back to your page to see where you are. I know that my mom is a diabetic, with many other health problems. She developed a mass on/in one kidney three years ago. Instead of having to remove the kidney, one of her urologists sent her to metro health hospital in Cleveland, OH for this procedure. Instead of only having one remaining kidney to rely on, she still has use of half of the one with the mass, plus the healthy kidney! They kept her over night due to her other health issues, but it is a simple procedure, that many people go home the same day. Very uninvasive, with only one or two small incisions. I don't know if they would do it for the stones but it would work for the cyst. It was/is considered experimental for kidneys, but is approved for liver cancer. Her dr said it would be great for small areas of breast cancer also. It doesn't work for large areas, but is wonderful for small areas. We can't say enough good stuff about this procedure. I hope they can help him quickly and permenantly.
