I had my transplant today

total body radiations and two high dose chemos done! I got my transplant today!

The cell tech and two nurses sang Happy Birthday to me and told Gary that I now have TWO birthdays to celebrate. Everything is going as expected, including side effects, they have been telling me what to expect every step of the way. Another 30 days in Seattle, crossing fingers for no complications. thank you everyone for your prayers....

Happy Birthday my sweet friend!!! I think it's wonderful that they are telling you what to expect! That has to be so much better than being clindsided by something and not knowing what the heck is going on!!

The girls are soon to be 7 months old and my son moved over to Poland before Thanksgiving. He comes back here every few months but plans to stay there until the immigration applications for his wife and babies are processed so they can all move here. He's quite the Mr. Mom now that his wife has gone back to work. Of course he has his mother in law and a twice a week nanny to help but he's falling into the routine rather effortlessly. Something about this younger generation of parents..the Mom's expecting full participation by the Dad's. Weird. I couldn't wait for my husband to go back to work after we brought the baby home.

It's okay to deadhead in the fall. But more to the problem. The symptoms seems to point to root damage and so can I ask if this is a new transplant? Is it in dry soil conditions? Limelights can withstand full sun but prefer part sun area. It also prefers a relatively moist location as mine were. regarding staking.... I would recommend more to remove the weaker branches and leave behind the stronger stems. I found the weaker (under) branches to be more of a 'sucker' branch. In anycase these plants can grow up to 6 feet tall and so I had removed the lower thin branches and let the plant grow taller. If you really wish to use stakes. Use bamboo stakes and interweave a net using good garden twine, and do this early in the season before the shrubs starts to leaf out. Ianna Ianna

Yes plant the broken roots. Some will grow into good plants. You will probably lose this years bloom unless you were able to take a LOT of your neighbors soil with the plants. Those buds that are about to open I would cut and enjoy them in a vase in the house. Al

(((Springer Mom and Baby))) Good advice from Laurie, as always! When going thru similar situations, I've always marveled at how our furbabies seem to handle these things better than we could. Our cat Nikita came home after a week-long stay in the hospital (she burst her bladder after slipping and falling from the top of the wardrobe, and it was sewn together and some ugly stitches lined her tummy) - I was going crazy with worry, and the first thing she did when we reached home, was to coolly walk over to her PinkPanther, snatch him up in her mouth and hide with him in the bathroom. The vet did tell us to keep her confined to a small area for a couple of days, and then to allow her to just 'be a cat' later. She was zipping around the house at full speed in no time. You'd never know she had been thru major surgery (it was terribly 'major' for me!) I know waiting for results is really hard. Hope everything works out well.
