I am sorry for what you and your springer are going through. Terribly worrisome, I know. Don't worry about the water drinking today. Anesthetic tends to upset the tummy, so he might just throw it back up, anyway. He should be fine with food and water tomorrow, but check with your vet if he is still reluctant to eat or drink then. For tonight, try to keep him off of the furniture so he doesn't hurt himself while he's still shaking off the anesthetic effects.

Waiting for test results is the worst. Keep posting whenever you need moral support. Many of us have been through similar situations with our 4-legged families.

Good advice from Laurie, as always! When going thru similar situations, I've always marveled at how our furbabies seem to handle these things better than we could. Our cat Nikita came home after a week-long stay in the hospital (she burst her bladder after slipping and falling from the top of the wardrobe, and it was sewn together and some ugly stitches lined her tummy) - I was going crazy with worry, and the first thing she did when we reached home, was to coolly walk over to her PinkPanther, snatch him up in her mouth and hide with him in the bathroom. The vet did tell us to keep her confined to a small area for a couple of days, and then to allow her to just 'be a cat' later. She was zipping around the house at full speed in no time. You'd never know she had been thru major surgery (it was terribly 'major' for me!)

I know waiting for results is really hard. Hope everything works out well. Nikita, Max and Simba send their regards to your Bubba.

Thanks, for the support. He did sleep it off.Finally ate a little bit this morning. Drank some water. He even wiggled his little wiggie (tail) for us.
I feel much better this morning. Thanks for the hugs and good thoughts for us. Will keep you all updated.
