I know that there is a chocolate mousse yogurt put out by Dannon, but I don't know how to make it. Other ideas: Cold: Cold broth Hummus (Recipe follows) Peanut butter (whipped with a little honey and milk if it's too thick to eat) Warm: Mashed potatoes Cider (great treat in the cold weather, anyway) Grits Cream of wheat (with applesauce mixed in) pureed soups (which you are already doing) Hummus Recipe 2 - 3 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced 2 - 3 green onions, sliced into 1" pieces a handful of parsley 16 oz can of chick peas/garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed well 6 TBSP tahini 6 TBSP fresh lemon juice 1 tsp cumin 1 tsp cayenne salt to taste Chop the garlic, green onions and parsley in food processor. (But don't puree yet.) Add the remaining ingredients and set on high until the mixture is smooth. Add water if it needs thinning. Normally I would eat this on carrot sticks, but I feed it to my son straight. Smoothies: 1/4 c. frozen blueberries 1/4 c. frozen strawberries 1/4 c. pineapple yogurt 1/2 c. orange juice OR 1 really ripe banana (frozen) 1/2 tsp. vanilla (or to taste) 1/2 c. milk (or to desired consistency) I hope your DD feels better soon! ~Amanda

in our housing colony, a stray dog gave birth to 3 small, cute pups. till 3-4 weeks they were in the temporary shelter made by their mum. when they opened their eyes and started walking, i was very happy and thought that they would come to our quarter and play. after a week or so, one pup(out of 3) came to our house in evening. He sat in the verandah, slept for a few minutes. at that time i was sleeping. my sister told that he slept for a few minutes and then she and my mom came back and they also felt like sleeping and slept for half an hour. When we returned, we saw he wasn't there. we thought he must have snuggled through the openings of the main iron door. At that very night, that pup,(whose shelter had been transferred to a public garage) started weeping. my dad and i put him on a cardboard piece near his siblings and mother and came back. this continued for 2 more days. after that he stopped weeping. i noticed he couldnot drink his mother's milk too.he had become very weak. we did everything for him that we could do, put him with his mother and siblings, covered him with a cloth too. but, even after that, on 14th jan2014, when it was 12:30 PM , I went to check him and found he was not breathing, i shaked him and even put him to another place by hand. he didnot react which he usually did while being placed by hand.then i sadly realised that he had left us... my heart is broken.what to do.

Hi DHS, Has Kennedy always done this, or did she initially accept the situation and calmly get along with Little Bit? If she has always done it, has something changed to make you more concerned lately? What is different? If it is new behavior, what changed around the same time as Kennedy's behavior? Think about all of these things. Think about exactly what Kennedy does, how she does it, what she looks at, when does she start the behavior, what stops it, and if there are changes in the environment that make her attacks better or worse. Write all these things out, keep notes. Have everybody in the family write what they see during these attacks. Don't say things like "Kennedy got jealous and attacked Little Bits when she was sleeping on the couch." Since we cannot know what is going on inside her, saying she is "jealous" or "scared" or "dominant" does not help. Instead, say, "I opened the door and came in from the garage and as soon as Kennedy saw me, she jumped up. She ran in circles barking for about thirty seconds. I could tell she was excited because the hairs on the back of her neck stood up and she was bouncing up and down on her front legs, which she held stiff. She darted toward me once, then ran to where Little Bits was sleeping next to the arm of the couch and jumped on the couch and grabbed Little Bits my the scruff of her neck with her teeth and shook her a bit. Little Bits squealed and yipped, so I knew she was scared." See, describe behaviors. Then the behaviorist can use her own observations and info you have gathered to give you the best advice.

Thank you all for you kind words. The sad thing about this dog is that she was my fourth rottie, but the least liked out of all my dogs. So I wasn't as emotionally attached to her as I was to my others, I still felt horrible about making the decision that an animal is going to die. My boss said that I should think of it as to how lucky she was, because if anyone else had her, she would probably have been put down, or just a guard dog at some industrial park. Which is true, she was difficult and lucky to be living with me. Those words made me feel better. Every day gets a little easier, but it is just a weird feeling to go from a home with a dog to a home without a dog. I think about taking a walk with the dog and then realize there is no dog. Also I felt very secure with her, because she was an excellent watch dog. I didn't realize how secure I felt until she was no longer in the home. Thanks again for all your hugs!!!
