I'm so excited! Look what I found!

I know I shouldn't have started a new thread...but I was so excited that I found this! It is a picture of Stow Away taken in December after a snowfall. (All five cats slept in the garage but spent days outside.) Anyway, she was sunning herself outside the garage---looks more like she was napping! She was such a "soulful" thing...

Thanks to everyone who posted on my furbaby thread. I love you guys.

That's great news. I am happy for you especially since your son is military. No matter how any of us feel about the war, we appreciate our military people. We spent many holidays alone. Because of the parents and step parents issue, I decided what ever day my children could be with us was "the" holiday. The Christmas my oldest granddaughter was four, they were stationed in Abeline. We lived in San Antonio and my son's father lived in Kingsvile and my DIL's mother lived in Robstown. The kids had their Christmas at home and then drove to SA. The next day we had our Christmas. The day after they drove to Robstown and had Christmans at my DIL's mother's house. They went to my ex's on Christmas morning and had Christmas. Soooooo,my granddaughter got up the day after Christmas expecting it all to happen again. She was a tad disappointed.

Allison, I love your laundry room! I wish I had a bigger laundry room but just having one across from my bedroom and not in a tiny little closet and not having to go to the laundry mat is one of the nice features that sold me on the townhouse I bought a little less than 11 years ago. Where are your hampers? I just love your taste of knowing where everything should be in a room to create rooms with both class and beauty. I just bought two white wicker hampers with two compartments at Fran's Wicker & Rattan Furniture Store and were amazed at the just about no smell. They have velcro cotton drawstring bags inside and are very well sealed. I aired them out for a week so they will have no smell at all. I am glad I went with such pretty hampers that were reasonably priced for the quality. Now I have to take the suggestions I got from others on making the rest of the room nice when I have time.

Thank you all for your kind words and your advice. I have to say though that I am still so torn. I was planning on painting the cabinets white if I got soapstone but I am married to one of those men who loves wood - even if it looks like zebra - and I am not sure I am confident enough to go against his wishes. I have to admit that it is a lot easier to keep our oak cabinets looking decent than the white ones in the bathroom. I really had this vision though of an old fashioned kitchen with the white and soapstone, and Victorian style faucets. But I have a 70's house so I guess that was kind of silly. I was getting so obsessed about this that I just had to step away for a while and put it all into perspective. I have been perfectly happy in that kitchen for 18 years, formica, oak and all, but to make a change it all has to be perfect? But here I am, everyone else in bed, and I am googling pros and cons of countertop materials. Guess I haven't stepped back that much! : ) I'd like to "trust my gut" but all it tells me is that I am going to make a mistake! lol. Lascatx: I live in Plano, just north of Dallas. Thank you all for all your insight, and I will let you know if I ever have the courage to make a decision!

Omigosh, what a beauty!! Yes, she and Princeton would be drawn to one another. They can commiserate about grooming challenges.

Cats have such dignity and Stow Away was especially regal, even dozing in the sun.

I'm so sorry she's gone- but pleased that you have such a beautiful picture of her! It's just soooo darned hard to lose a beloved furbaby.

Boy, that long hair did give her fits! Every morning this summer, I'd spend time picking the little stickers out of her. And oh, how she loved to be brushed! Those are little flecks of snow in her fur in the photo.

It's funny that she looks so tubby in that picture. She really wasn't--it was just all that hair!

Thanks for posting the pic. You're right, she does look like she was full of "soul". Funny how it just seems so much more meaningful when you see them in a picture.

Stow Away looks so regal. She looks like she should be wearing a tiara and sleeping on a fuzzy pink pillow. I'm so sorry she is gone. (((Rita)))

What a beauty! Course even the ugly ones are beauties too, aren't they? So sorry for your loss. I hope at least that there's some comfort that she died doing what she enjoyed.

I've always had an attraction to the gray cats. This one looks like it had a special personality too. Again, my condolences. It's so tough to lose a close friend.

Aww...glad that you found such a neat photo of her, 'writer. She looks a lot like my "Fuzzy" cat. She has such a generic name because she was a stray. We started out by saying, "Did that fuzzy cat come and eat today!?" (Now....about 14 years later! LOL)

I am so sorry for your loss. RIP StowAway.
