Hi everyone,

JoAnn's DIL called me a few minutes ago to let us all know she came thru her surgery fine, and they got all the cancer!

Thank you all for your support for our wonderful KT friend.

Please continue your good thoughts and prayers for a full recovery for her and also keep her DH (Ken) in your thoughts and prayers!

That's an interesting observation, steve_mass; I suppose the aims of posting can be very different in other forums. In the Building a Home forum, people often want to be able to post a building plan with enough detail so they can read the dimensions (small text). It also may be their first post so Tiny Pic is often recommended by that forum as the easiest way to get photos online. In the New England forum a thread will often get long with photos posted by many people. One big photo will disrupt everything after it, making the whole thread difficult to read. Close detail isn't necessary, even for plant identification since the ID is likely to be more a case of identifying a species, not a specific cultivar (hostas can be very similar). Picasa is very popular here in New England, possibly because of the enthusiastic support of some of the regulars (as well as its many fine features before I get flamed). Including a pic in the message is the gold standard, but this is a pretty relaxed forum and I think people would rather see a link in the box than not see a pic at all. Claire

Kim, There was a big package of seeds waiting for me when I got back into town today!!! I was out of town for a few days so I'm not sure what day it came, but WOW! I can hardly believe all of the wonderful seeds that I received. I've been looking through them and there are lot of things that I wanted and some that I didn't know that I wanted (but I want them now that I see them.) For example, I received Mexican Sage 'Limelight' for my blue and green garden. It has blue flowers with lime green calyxes. How cool is that!! So thank you everyone for sending in so many great seeds. I'm thrilled with what I got back! And a special thank you to our hostess. When I was putting together seeds to send in for this swap, I kept thinking how much work this swap would be to host. Honestly, Kim, I don't know how you did it. My brain would have turned to mush trying to keep all of those themes straight. You did an amazing job! Penny

I can relate to so many helping others. I let me sister come and root through my seed box and have just about anything she wants because her husband has been unemployed for over 2 months. They need a lot of veggies and they don't have any flowers in their yard. My mom's property is also bear. We bought her 3 trees several years ago, which have finally payed off this year, but she needs some flowers and definitely veggies, too. Then, of course, there's me. My yard is also bare. We moved in 4 years ago (Yah, I know it was a long time ago to still have nothing in our yard, but I just thought it was too expensive to have gardens before.) When we got here and all the way until now there has only been a crepe myrtle bush in the front and four 'o clock in the back. Well, there's also some kind of ornamental grass that I think grows from a bulb that I have no idea what it is, but apparently doensn't take much attention to keep alive. LOL Anyways, I haven't gotten Patty's Swap package back quite yet, either, but I think mostly because of these 2 big swaps and some generous SASBE offers, that it is going to make our gardens bountiful and beautiful. I seriously cannot wait to see it! It does surprise me how many seeds it takes to even notice that you have a garden! LOL! I'm sowing thousands this year just at my house alone! I can't wait to see all 3 of our homes when everything comes up! Sooooooooo, I'll take any doubles with my name on them, whether flower, herb, or veggie/fruit. Updating to windows 8.1 problem

You need to be sure you want it. I did a lot of research since I bought my windows 8 computer. I did not like what I read and on top of that it can not be removed from some computers if you don't like it. OMG..I've been MIA and whileI knew she was having some health problems, I had no idea she had cancer! I am so thankful her surgery went well..and that they got it all! Continue Prayers for her and her husband!!

I too didn't realize she had cancer, just that she had a medical problem. So glad for such a good result and hope her dh will also do well with his medical problem!
