My First Pedicure! (pic)

Here is the results!

We ended up going to a school that is only a few blocks from our house. I think I got a "beginner." She just started her training in May and she basically didn't trim the nails at all. She was timid. So I will see if I can manage for about a week and then trim them myself. She was good with smoothing and rubbing my feet. After I was done I wished that I had picked a non-pearlized color.

Well -- Ican take that off my Bucket list (I don't actually have one.)

Well, Glenda, I think if I can manage to trim them myself, I will wait a while before going again. DH said I need to go to a REAL one!
I was keeping a close watch on cleanliness, and I think they could do a lot better in that area. Next time will not be a school, but I'm in no big rush. The Water Aerobics has made me much more flexible, so I can reach my toes again. :o)

It would be interesting to hear of the responses that you've had. At first glance one would summize that bacterial speck is your problem but after seeing the damage on the unripe tomato I'm more inclined to think that you have a stink bug problem. Stink bugs feed in different ways. Often they will just probe a tomato to get a drink. Other times they will pump digestive juices into the fruit with one mouthpart while sucking out digested material with the other. You might have to get some expert help since neither problem is as easy to control. The catfacing and even BER go away with time.

I love lilacs, but I don't have a place for any bushes that need sun. Instead, I have been boldly lingering at others properties and burying my face in the flowers with a silly smile on my face. Please enjoy and post a picture when it blooms! Ken, those bushes can barely hold those blooms! What a great Spring display.

Unfortunately, many technicians do not sanitize the jetted type pedicure throne sufficiently. The EPA approved liquid is sometimes just sprayed onto the surfaces or poured into the basin to soak w/water. But the water that sits in the jet pipes is not affected. And just blows the dirty water back into the basin when turned on. Skin oils, dead skin, nail clippings and product residue forms a perfect feast for bacteria. Add moisture, heat and the dark interior of the pipes and Viola! Best to bring your own tools. Polish is not generally a source of contamination because of the resin base encapsulates germs. Not that I want to turn anyone off of their beloved pedicures but definitely ask questions and observe the actions of the staff.

I will take pics...Been sick for a few days... I am beginning to think that for some of us growing 'roses' is an ALL season project..Not only do I have to protect them but I also have to watch out they don't desiccate in the winter too..If the snow should not fall and the bare ground is exposed to sub 0 temps or higher with whipping winds, the ground can go bone dry even in winter..So here I am watering all my roses deeply on the first given warm day above 40.....I know that many die just to a lack of moisture in the dead of winter... Thanks for the encouragement.. It does fell like I want to garden out there too since my temp is a balmy 60 degrees right now! Back to the low 20's by day and single digits by Saturday night with a bare ground again..My bulbs are starting to pop up...lol

I get manicures all year, but pedicures when the bubble is down for the warm season, and cruising :o)

Yep, I can now touch my toes :o)

I just realized that the "WHAT_EVER_IT_IS" that I have been smelling all afternoon --- is my feet
They smell sanitized! Phew!

Sorry, but that is not best pedicure .. the polish appears to have puddled around the cuticles. Try a higher end salon next time and see if you don't notice a change.

I have had one pedicure in my whole life! It was also done at a school a couple of years ago and like hayjud I got a girl that was really nervous and I could tell was new to it.She didn't trim my nails either and barely filed them and the polish job was less than professional.My 15 year old DGD probably could have done a better job.I was very disappointed.If I ever have it done again I will go to a professional salon.I have a hard time doing them myself anymore so I may have to break down and have them done on a regular basis eventually.Maybe I just need to do what Glenda is doing and start water aerobics or something so I will be more flexible.LOL
I do like the color on yours though.

I get a manicure every week and a pedi about every three months. I used to be a nail biter (from age 5 to 48) and my toe nails are just too tough for me to cut. I know it's time for a pedicure when my toenails start snagging my socks.

Hey, take another look at those pink toes and notice...

First - I don't have any long black hairs on them! LOL

Second - notice the right foot, the toe next to the BIG toe. That is the one I thought I broke last Fall. It no longer hurts (since I started Water Aerobics) Notice how it looks like it is crowding the next toe, and it is still always a little darker in color than the rest of them. I still wonder if it is out of place. BUT, no pain, no messing with it!

My feet don't really look that "pinkish."
