Hosta pics, my first multi pic post

Let's see if I can do this multi pic post properly. The following are a few of my hostas, Stained Glass suffered terribly this spring with the warm and then cold and then warm again, but I put her in a pot and she seems to be recovering nicely.

I managed to figure out which code to use to post the pics and I figured out how to put a space between each pic but...The photos referred here are from Photobucket where I entered their names actually on the pics but the names didn't show up here in the forum - any ideas why?

My goodness that took a long time! My husband has gone to bed without me, lol. I don't know if I can do that for all of my hostas and I only have a total of 64 which a lot less than some people on here.

Lovely Hosta and they all look great, especially considering our Spring. Mine are already starting to look like August Hosta.

Lovely. My Stained Glass looked like that but has already come back beautifully in my zone 5 garden. N

Patrick, which code to use depends on the internet site. Different sites require particular types of code to be used in threads. Here, full size images will be displayed using the 'tag' code that is automatically displayed beneath each pic in your Photobucket album. That is how usually post single images in threads. There is also a little check box next to each of your pics, and a button at the bottom of each page to "generate html and img code" that creates a new page with code for clickable thumbnails. Use the first line of code for use in this forum (html clickable thumbnails). This is useful if you have a whole bunch of photos to display and don't want to make pages load slowly for those with slow internet connections. They can then decide to click and wait for a full size image, or not. You should see your picture or thumbnail in the preview screen when creating a post here at GW. If not, check the code again before submitting. Once you firgure out which links work, it is easy. I saw some of your garden on another site and am glad to help. Thanks everyone. I learned that when I correct the photos and add the names in Photobucket that they are added here too, which of course makes sense, considering it is a direct link. My Hanky Panky wasn't affected this spring but as you can see in some of the pics, that quite a few of mine were, I have transplanted six sad hostas to pots with the hope of a recovery. The foot with red toenails is mine! When I took the photo, I didn't notice that my foot was encroaching upon photo territory :) Bfly8 - you are on! 1 inch lol

BK....getting photos off the phone. Do you have an Android smart phone? Then you can get the Flickr or Photobucket app for free, and when you take your pictures, send the ones you want to Flickr. Failing that, do you have a phone charger that is also a USB connector to your computer? Hook it up and MOVE the photos to your computer. They might not be 8mp photos, but some might be good enough for identifying stuff. Sugar And Cream does fine here too. You'll soon discover you like it almost as much as So Sweet. Consider trying Sweet Innocence with its very wide white margin. You can ID it 10 or 20 feet no problem. Here's Sugar And Cream on the far left. and Sweet Innocence as well

Thanks, Pietertje, I know you are right. I do not know how he keeps up with things as it is. New hosta need a total new file, and the existing files need additions to them. It is hard to imagine keeping everything up in the air at once. I used to be a librarian and thought it would be easy-peasy if a computer did everything, but since have learned that a computer can only do what it is told to do. I'll have to talk with someone about how the library started, and how it is managed, there must be an expense absorbed by someone to maintain such a database and the bandwidth required for so many users. What would we do without it! I've had some correspondence with Bob over the last month, and caught a glimpse of the verification someone must do when a picture is accepted and identified as a specific hosta. Another layer of work for him. My hat is off to BobAX......and I never thought about the new additions affecting your comparisons....wheels keep turning .

You did fine--and I'm enjoying the pictures tremendously. I just spent the past week mulling over some new (for me) hosta--my semi-shady/high shade area got destroyed (along with most of my hosta) when they took down the giant sycamore some years ago, but now my river birch replacements are giving enough shade that I can once again consider growing hosta. You have shown pictures of a number of the ones I have been closely considering. So helpful to me--as well as being such lovely shots of them. Thanks for all your time and energy here--and your fine photography!

You have some gorgeous hosta there, and wonderful photos. The driftwood looks great also. What is the heuchera next to Tokudama F? They look so good together. By the way, all of your pictures have the hosta names on them.

Thank you everyone, for your encouraging comments. When I previewed the photos before I clicked 'submit' they did not have the names of them so I am very happy to see they arrived on the final 'draft'.
Regarding the name of the Heuchera, I cannot remember right now but it may come to me.
