Okay, I caught the last thirty minutes of the show....the guy that was kicked off was a major cry baby to me....loved the migraine excuse....mind you..I only watched the first maybe the second show. Is Jen the lady from last year that he paid to go through culinary school??? For some reason I'm thinking so...I only watched last season for the first time and I'm thinking she was/is the one??? The group did mess up the dinner service for tonight....big time.. if this was the first final group effort...I'm scared for all of them. I'm thinking some of this is played up but it is tv.... I will say the show teased me a little tonight. I may check it out again next week..to see what happens with the final group. Another Top Chef fan here....they do have their moments on that show too but I love the creative ideas the chefs come up with. I see they have a cookbook out....I'm thinking about buying it. David

Hi Thanks for all the suggestions. cattknap, I love that rug. Lots of great colors from which to choose. For those who suggested apple green, can you give me a BM color which is apple green so that I can get a chip to remind me what apple green looks like. I do have a black horizonal plate rack as well as some black scroll type decorative pieces. I do collect roosters too. Wish me luck. I'll certainly need it. Linda

Seriously, you folks are the best! Thanks so much for listening and for all of the wonderful comments. It's -29ish this morning, but my heart is warmed... Stuff left to do: toe kicks, backsplash, cabinet crown, filler pieces, over fridge cab needs to be built and put up. Range hood vent hole through kitchen wall needs to be cut (waiting until DH goes away for a day, to do it - he's having a fit about me cutting it out. I should have done it when he was in the hospital) trebruchet: lol re: uneditable aktillery, I used Minwax stain (blend of Special Walnut & Provincial) and sealed with Waterlox. It didn't darken as much as I had hoped... Daisychain, I'll never complain about mosquitoes again - what a winter! Thanks for wine glass link Legalin :) Really hope I didn't sound trivial or plaintive last evening, I was just, shall we say, reminiscing, lol... I'm very grateful for a roof, 4 walls and a furnace! Guess, I'm just a little worn out - it's just been a long, cold winter with DH slowly recovering from being seriously ill in the fall (dang deer tick bite). Thanks again everyone! Dawn (who works the 0700hrs shift tomorrow - so no wine for her tonite!)

My husband and I love this show. Yes, he comes across as crude but if you've seen his other show - Kitchen Nightmares - you'll see another side of him. He genuinely does care. I think he's deliberately hard on these contestants to see how they react under pressure. And keep in mind - the winner is going to have a job as Executive Chef for some very classy restaurant, and Gordon Ramsay's reputation is on the line over the person who fills that job. He can't afford to send someone in there who can't cut the mustard (so to speak). Like the guy the other night who caved and just quit. He'll never be able to stand the pressure inside a high volume, highly demanding, fast paced kitchen. We love Top Chef too! But that's a different story. Hell's Kitchen is seeking a great manager. Top Chef is seeking a great chef.
