First what is special about your state or hometown? Our town has the most 70 degree F days in the nation!

What food is your area known for? Strawberries, wine grapes, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, celery

What are you proud of in your town, or someone in your town. Our library is terrific and always has been.

Who has helped you the most and why? In our town? The librarians over the years, probably. But, I really appreciate the members of our Save The Mesa group to stop the extreme growth until the lack of water and infrastructure problems are solved.

Who in you family or town had done something so special you want the world to know about it.?
The Save the Dana Adobe have done a wonderful job or restoring the historic Dana Adobe.

First what is special about your state or hometown? I live in TX...need I say more...Texas is just special.

What food is your area known for?....Tex-Mex

What are you proud of in your town, or someone in your town.We are a town of only 20K people yet we have major shopping, dining, many arts and cultural venues including a Performing Arts theater,and an Art Museum... We have a brand new hospital and an Ambulatory Clinic where all small surgeries and tests are performed

Who has helped you the most and why?Probably the wonderful medical facilities we have here. We have a well staffed cancer center and great doctors.

Who in you family or town had done something so special you want the world to know about it.? My wonderful husband took over the house, shopping, cleaning, feeding the two of us etc etc when I was doing the lung surgery and chemo. He had all of his regular chores to take care of but he still did a wonderful job of taking care of me. He went to extremes to see that I wasn't over tasked and while I could have helped some, I rarely got the opportunity.

were getting tons of new road repair...including resurfacing in front of our place...

we have corn and sugar beets...both should be doing pretty good as both are being used for flexible fuel, and food supply...michigan does contribute more than just cars...

a personal friend...she's a teacher, adoptive mom, and great friend...and has cf, but has been one of the few who have controled it...

have to say dh...he's held my hand thru hyst, in 06, and now breast cancer. we have our good days and not so good, but he's always there...(and he bought me a new front window!)

it has to be ds2. right now he's cleaning houses/offices and mowing lawns, after losing his job to down-sizing. but the very best thing in all of this, that he and dil are expecting a baby (already has hosp paid for!)

ill answer i live in nys and HATE it! im not sure of the food lol and sorry i cant make colums like you guys,someone im extremely proud of is my soon to be 13 year old neice she made it through 7th grade. second neice im proud of her shes in potty traning lol and going through the terrible 2s! yesterday was fun ..not. lol my parents has helped me the most..they are wonderful and im trying to return the favor..we kinda work on not who owes who, just one hand washes the other type thing... and trust me if you lived in the town i do..which i dont consider it my town i live on the hill youd get a different zipcode lol. ahh gotta love the country and small towns

The climate. The coast. The redwoods. The mountains.

What food is your area known for?

Once was known as The Valley of the Hearts Delight for the peaches,the cots,the nectarines and the plums grown here. Mostly paved over now. The wider area is known for its garlic, mushrooms,artichokes and avocados and apples in the coastal mountain areas. Lots of farmland that still supplies the nations fruits and vegetable market. We have nearly every ethnic food imaginable. The real stuff.

What are you proud of in your town, or someone in your town.

I am not very proud of my town. Too much corruption. I am proud of the the fact my kids turned out and how they contribute to the world in spite of it.

Who has helped you the most and why?

A good man who choose to get involved when he didn't have to. He not only gave me "freedom" but may have saved my life. I will never cease to love and respect him.

There are many kinds of "special". I couldn't choose just one.

The cast and crew of The Mentalist were in town on Thursday and Friday of last week, filming scenes that will be in the first three episodes of the upcoming season. They apparently plan to come to Sacramento more often to shoot scenes, since it's supposed to take place in Sacramento. Incredible amount of trucks, trailers, and people involved.
