Some good news and some bad

That's according to how you look at it, I guess. Due to the failing health of my husband, we decided to close the business and were fortunate to have found a buyer for our commercial daylily stock. As of today, Flynn Daylily Gardens is closed to all sales. All orders already received will be filled and shipped before the new owners come to dig and move their daylilies in the Spring.

We will be keeping a very few special daylilies and all the Munsons for the time being. As they multiply, you might see some of those on the LA. At any rate, I wouldn't want to think about life with no daylilies. Hopefully I will be able to care for those that remain.

Our website is still up, but I will be streamlining that to reflect the non commercial nature. We will always be interested in daylilies, so we will keep our AHS status and will be checking in on all of our GW friends regularly. There is so much I would like to say to all of you, who have meant so much to me through the years, but please just accept this simple, heartfelt Thank You. Unless our Precious Lord comes sooner than we think, we will all have to drastically downsize one day. I pray that the transition will go smoothly for you. You may find that being able to have a few extra hours durning the growing season will bring you much pleasure in your garden. Try to relax and enjoy this phase of life that you are now entering. I pray that you both are blessed with improving health and the peace of God's Grace. Mona

Ida, I am so glad that the transaction went well for you both and as Mona said, now is the time to relax and enjoy the dl's you have chosen to keep, and the rest of your garden as well. Both of you remain in my prayers and of course you will be hearing from me from time to time. :)

Dear Friend. ♥ All jokes aside, The orchids and I faired well over the winter, and I will let them know you are thinking of them. You already know that your influence is scattered throughout my collection, and here you go again enabling me more !!! However, I’m not sure if you remember, last year when you baited me with White Elephant. It was right before I left to visit Hallson’s. As a result of your post, I ended up picking out one right then and there !!! It was haggard looking last year, what with a move across 5 states and then too much rain and shade. Here he is, in 2013. And again this year, looking much better. Pic taken today. Ooooo all that white sends my heart a flutter. :P But about this Lionheart business, I will reserve my comments to the actual post, so check back later. :) And Bless your heart for sharing your wind chimes. I ended up spending a half hour perusing that website, listening to all the different models. Your Earth Song is gorgeous !!! But I had to laugh when my ear settled on the $ 660.00, 8ft tall, Himalayan Echo . . . figures, I couldn’t swoon for one of the smaller more reasonably priced models. I would die to have one that big, though. Hang it somewhere high in a tree in the back yard and just let it resonate. I’m sure you could almost feel the vibrations if the wind picked up enough and really got it going. But I won’t be hearing it’s song for a long time at that price . . . good to set long term goals for yourself, right ? I was inspired by your link and ended up finding out more information on the one I just bought. I updated the original post if you want to go back check it out. This is actually my second one. The first, was a gift from my Mother almost 6 years ago after I graduated college. I had it hanging on my porch when I lived in Indiana, PA, but never made it out of the box once I moved to Philly. That is all changing this year as I have plans (or rather a grown adult with a big drill) to attach a huge hook to the roof of the front porch overhang. It is a 42 inch Arias. It does not have a theme or name like my Windsinger and definitely sounds more like cathedral bells. But still just as pleasing. Plus, I think of Mumma Bear when I hear it. ♥ Here is a link to a vendor that sells them, but it also includes an audio clip if you want to hear what it sounds like, as well. vacation some good and some bad

That is so frightening! Guess you won't be doing that again. I'm sorry you had that awful experience. The rest of your vacation sounds like it was wonderful. My son and his friend came on an accident that had just happened. It was similar to yours. A fellow ran into the back of a semi, but in his case the hood of his small truck went under the back of the semi and he was decapitated. Others had stopped to help although there was nothing to be done, so son and friend kept going. Son's friend has nightmares after seeing that. Count your lucky stars that you were not hurt worse.

Thank you for your prayers. We had an education meeting today with the nurses,and I have been doing nothing but reading since then. I have had Cancer twice and gone through Chemo, but this is so much scarier for me. I know that I have to be strong for him. He had no side effects from the first medicines but I know that he will have a lot more to deal with now. I have my friends and family and Prayer Warriors so I am trying to stay positive through this.

Ida, I am so disapointed that I will not be able to order from you again. I am also pleased that God sent you my way so that we could become aquainted. He makes no mistakes. I am happy for you and Damond that you will be able to spend time enjoying your life together and that you will have more free time. Just read the post and very sorry to hear about it, i know this must be hard on you all, in many ways, but i wanted to thank the both of you for allowing me to work with yall, i really enjoyed going through the images i was able to and am thoroughly enjoying the ones you two sent me.

Again regrets, and i hope that the situation improves.

Many many thanks to all of you for the kind words. I am saving the responses in an email folder to read again and again on bad days. Gerard, I did use your drawing on my 2008 catalog and then things fell apart and I never sent them out. They do look good though.
