I have lots of fresh basil and lemon so I think I'll make a shrimp pasta of some sort. Just picked up some penne today along with some grape tomatoes and I'll throw in some freshly grated Parmesan.

Storm has passed, it's a cool 77 and doors are open for fresh air!

Ms Myra's for my usual: smoked chicken salad, pickle spear and saltines.

I have to time my going when my hair needs to be washed and I'm wear an outfit for the second time, cause their bbq grilling is inside and I smell like bbq smoke the rest of the day.

I just stopped canning beans for today. I have 21 done for today and will start out again tomorrow. We had Alyssa here too so that was fun. Cheryl just left and will take Alyssa by home. My supper is just a quick one. Sandwich spread from the grocery and some raspberry sherbet. I hope you are feeling better Patti.

Patti, no our rainy season is not over. Lots of rain this afternoon & now they are saying rain every day for the next 7 days. This time of year is suppose to be dry but they forgot to tell the rain boy to leave the bucket up not down.

Eye Dr's appt was good, eye is healing.

Dinner for hubby was tuna steak with brown rice. For me it was a turkey sandwich.

I hadn't bought a Stouffer's turkey tetrazzini in ages. Picked one up yesterday. I won't be buying more for another long time as there was just too much sodium in it. I had leftover peas with it.

I'm sorry you have to go through this, Patti.

Georgysmom, I love everything about basil--the smell, the taste, the look of the plant. Your shrimp pasta sounds delish--make plenty, because it'll probably be good tomorrow, too :-) (If not, send it down!!)

Glenda, if my clothes smelled like BBQ, I'd probably eat them--haha! Everytime you go to Miss Myra's, I get a huge craving for that salad, even though I've never tasted it. Reminds me of mullet spread.

Mary, good news about your eye, bad news about the rain. Your DH is a lucky man!! You cook just for him.

Shirley, I love Stouffer's stuff, but they do have a lot of sodium. I think they also make Lean Cuisine??? Maybe those contain less. I really like their noodle dishes and swore I'd never make lasagna again after having theirs.

So sorry you had such a long hard day today Patti.

I am making home made tacos tonight nothing fancy.

Gonna try cooking some summer squash with some (yummy) roasted tomatoes that I did last year. We have new tomatoes on the counter from this years plants.... very ymmy, but too hot to be roasting them. Also a hamburger patty from the freezer. We are just 'plumed out' from plums. We took 3 boxes to the Mission that feeds homeless ... they must have known we were coming because they were flying out the door before we got parked. The plums ARE wonderful... tonight we pick more, Satsums now. Another loaded tree.

The smoke is worse today and temps 98 or so and they don't think they will get the two wild fires out until October. The Vinters are saying the smoke will make their wine grapes better, so I guess that is ONE good thing.

Patti, DH and I are going over to our DS's house. He and his wife are going to be gone for 3 days next week and I will be house sitting~~today he is going to teach me how to feed the 3 horses;) I will also be meeting my 3rd darling granddoggie;)

After I have learned all my duties with 3 horses, 3 dogs, a cat and fish~~~we will take DS out to dinner, not sure where;)

Raven, I'm sure you've had harder days than this was--mine was just tiring. I can almost smell those tacos.

Nanny, you're lucky to have plum trees and it's great you shared with the shelter. Wish more people would think of the homeless when they have an excess of fruits/veggies. It won't be long before we have to replace our fresh, light summer dishes for heartier fare for fall/winter.

YogaLady, I'd love to be a fly on the wall to see your house sitting. That's a lot of horses to be fed. Do you need to clean the stalls, too? You're going to be feeding "something" or cleaning up after them pretty much all day. (For some reason, I can't get the theme song from "Green Acres" out of my brain.) LOL!
