I made stuffed peppers for my meal, along with a small potato. I'm going to have to start taking the time to cook soon as there's nothing easy to fix except frozen entrees.

The house smells like an Italian restaurant....not a bad smell at all. I made some marinara sauce and we're having manicotti and an Italian salad.

There's only enough pasta for one serving, so hubby can have that.

I looked at the meatloaf and had a "Eureka, blast-from-the-past" moment. I loved meatloaf sandwiches and haven't had one in years. So that and tea is dinner. I'm eating now and it's pretty durn good.

Mike took two big steaks out for dinner. Will add mashed potatoes and a salad to go along with it.

Shirley, I only cooked today in honor of Julia Child's 100th birthday :-) BTW, I think making stuffed peppers is doing a lot of cooking!! At least time-wise.

Raven, I can't tell you how badly I wish I was at your house :-) That sounds wonderful!

Angelaid, the produce in our stores is just blah right now. Too late for summer veggies and too early for the fall ones. I like ham with my green beans and potatoes, but no nice green beans to be found last week.

Georgysmom, does anything smell better than garlic cooking? Well, maybe bacon :-) My aunt made the best manicotti. I think it had riccota (sp?)cheese and spinach. Or maybe it was parsley. What do you stuff your shells with?

Patti, I wish I could give you some beans as I have them coming out my ears right now. I planted them in a spot where we pulled up a small deck so nothing had grown there in years. I suppose that's what's making them grow and produce like gangbusters. Off to the neighbors', I guess.

Cheryl and I picked green beans and cleaned them this afternoon. I canned 7 quarts and have enough to do that many more and some left to eat. I will can those tomorrow. We want to make some tomato juice too as soon as time permits. Then there is the sweet corn and more zucchini jam to make. So being tired and not too hungry, I just had a lunch meat sandwich and some iced tea. Now I am ready for bed, but hope to be able to stay awake long enough to watch some of Big Brother.

Today I pulled down all the old pieces of odd lumber and fencing and other junk from the rafters of the small barn, divided it into two piles - "pitch" and "save". The "pitch" pile was much bigger. Then I dragged a large piece of plywood from the garage down to the barn and was able to get it up over the rafters to form a floor if you will so I can neatly place things up there for storage. What a hot, dirty job!I called the same kid that helped me last year haul all the lumber away when I did the first purge. He even took some old cement block I didn't want, and some metal items I had put out for the trash man tomorrow.

Anyway, I was hungry by 7pm, so decided to order take out from a nearby restaurant - a Chicken Caeser Salad.

Friend called and said she was making beer cheese soup, so that's all I could think of and had to make some, too! So I had that, sliced tomatoes, bread just out of the oven and a chocolate sundae!

Chicken and pea pods, Everything cooks in one pot-even the rice! I bought Bodum wok/all purpose pot at Goodwill for $25, it retails for between $80-120. I swear everything tastes better when cooked in it! Tomorrow I will use the same pot for cubed steaks with onions and gravy.

I went to the produce/meat store today. The produce was phenomenal!

I gathered stuff from the garden, used up some left over uncooked pork tri tip and made the best chile verde pork with rice I have ever made.
Just made up the recipe as I went along......so yummy!
I thought I had planted bell peppers (the tag was wrong) but they turned out to be Anaheim chiles instead.

My gosh, the good things that go on around here after I leave the computer for the night. I'd gladly take all the green beans I could get. Never get tired of those.

Schoolhouse, I sure hope your weather isn't has hot as it is here. It has to feel good to get so much done. Good choice for dinner. Yummy!

Phyllis, it sounds like a birthday feast to me. Beer cheese soup AND homemade bread. Sigh!

Lisa, I need to check out our Good Will--Habitat, too. It would be nice to have a multi-purpose pan.
