Hello everyone

I just wanted to let you know that I am doing so much better. DH and I have finally begun the divorce paperwork and things are going smoothly. I feel so liberated! Which brings me to my question.....what song best describes how you feel with your relationship?

Mine is "You Don't Own Me" by Petula Clarke

For me that song tells it all!

Brad you know I don't think I can distill my plants down to a single feeling. I have plants that are conventionally beautiful, others that are bizarre or unusual and still more that could be considered grotesque. Apparently smelling like carrion is not an endearing quality, who knew! LOL I love tending to my plants while listening to music like Arcade Fire, beautiful music that's full of emotion. Growing plants definitely has it's ups and downs so a theme song needs a good dose of emotion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAitZuh4uegArcade Fire Sometimes things can seem kinda blah, nothings really growing and no flowers. I don't read too much meaning into the Talking Heads song, but I was aware that David Byrne had been a student at RISD, and I often thought that if I had to do it over, that's where I would have wanted to get my first degree. I sort of regretted not majoring in architecture when I was 18-22, but then I would not be who I am today if I had. A friend from my high school did go to RISD, and then he ended up living on the East Coast, and I'm sort of glad that I ended up on the West Coast. When I was getting my design degree at UT Austin in my mid to late 30s, my 3D design professor told me that she did not consider me to be a serious artist and lowered my grade from an A to a B at the end of the semester. I told her that I did not care and that whatever grade she gave me would not affect whether I would get work as a designer. She had gotten her masters at Yale and had the attitude that designers were not artists, which is a common concept in the New York art community, according to my brother. Anyway, I had a very successful career as a furniture designer. My 2D art professor at UT loved me and told me that I would be able to do whatever I wanted, and so I listened to him instead of to the 3D professor. I took architecture classes in addition to art classes for my design degree, and I did the best in those.

There are so many songs that I can relate to but there is always one song that will always bring both smiles and tears for me. It is also the song that people have always said when they hear it they think of me.
It is John Denver's "Sunshine"....it has an incredibly special place in my heart.
