haven't seen you post lately. It is possible I've missed them if you have. Been wondering how Banjo is doing. And yourself, too. Dottie

Hi Dottie (waving madly). Something told me to check here before I go to the farm. Banjo is a bog boy now and is doing fine and so am I except I am a big (old) girl.
I miss my little hoss sometimes though. He is almost grown up now and is not as needy or as trusting as he once was. Plans are to train him to drive this winter and then hook him to a cart in the spring - so if you see a black blur and hear screaming - that's us!
He is the 3rd horse in the photo. I'll post his yearling portrait next.
The second horse is HUGE so Banjo looks smaller than what he is. The "white" one is Belle and she is doing well too.

OH Kathy, From one spiney to another, I can sure understand the frustration, pain and limitations you are having since the surgery. It sounds like you really need to get another opinion from another spine surgeon. Your present one has obviously given up on you. His view is something like, I did my job, you healed from that, the surgery was a success and it's not my fault that you have all these problems. All of that may be true, but his answers aren't helping you out. A fresh set of eyes on everything, including the new MRI that you are getting tonight, may very well show something, and an EMG, though it can be somewhat painful, can also provide some answers as well. When a doctor "gives up" on a patient, it's time for the patient to take hold of the situation and find another doctor, get another opinion, even more than one and see what is going on. In the mean time, don't give up. I've seen too many spine patients that where told the same kind of thing by the spine surgeons, went on to find a new one and did get help, the help that they needed. ---Now if he tooted out 'Shave and a Haircut' at you and LF, you guys had an engineer who reeeeally loves his job!!! So glad you two had a chance to feel the excitement as that huge behemoth rumbled by your waving spot! There's nothing quite like it! I hope LF will always want to wave, even when he's all grown up! My grandson and I still watch train videos on youtube, (he knows almost every single railroad line in the U.S. and Canada by heart!) and we also watch logging trucks at work, loggers felling trees, all kinds of garbage trucks at work (our fav is a series taken in Naples, FL!), airplanes taking off and landing, (he now knows how to set up for take-off and for landing---even in a crosswind!) and vehicles spinning out on icy roads. Weird duo, but we sure are having great FUN! Of course, we still prowl the area trying spot a CSX or a Norfolk Southern chugging through---they all know my DGS and have probably figured out who his Grandma is by now!!! Didn't mean to go on like this, but Robin, it's great FUN to wave and hoot and holler! I hope you and LF do it every chance you get! If you and LF want to go riding around with a GREAT driver, check out FreewayJim on youtube. My favorite is 'Dusk into Dark in Atlanta'--- great music----'Standing by My Side', by Musetta, and the video is speeded up enough to feel like you're really zippin'! Sorry to go so much---it's just all so much FUN! ----playing in the dirt is fun, also---we love it!

Kathy, I have 2 incognito, and might get another. It is my absolute favorite rose. Both of mine want to bloom mostly in sprays, but it is easy enough to finger prune off the side buds to get the single bloom. They are usually the first to leaf out. The only issue is that it can blow open quickly, but sometimes not. I haven't figured it out yet. When I want one to open for a show, it never does... And to kinda keep this in the "gallery" theme, this is my oldest Incognito, right before first flush in 2005... Yes, that is one plant.

The first two KTer's I met were Pat Lavender and FranCes....and my sister embarrassed me. She insisted on going with me in case one of them was an axe murderer. But now I know Wildchild is really the axe murderer. The only reason I have survived our visits is because I take her to Jocko's for steak. I remember going to a get together at Joni's in Ventura long ago and then a couple of them in Bakersfield I have pictures from a Tehachapi trip. I got rescued by Flamingo from a shopping mall in Branson...I think it was Branson. It is really great meeting KTers and hope anyone who travels on the central coast of California will contact me.

He is a beautiful boy, so noble. I remember he had a hard start, his mother died. He's certainly a tribute to her.

Edited - I linked to an album! Here is the yearling photo. Yes his mamma died when he was 5 weeks old. It was a tough time but we both made it through. Kathy

Kathy, for those not familiar with the Banjo story (I am but many others aren't), do you mind posting it to get people up to speed why Banjo is such a special guy.
