The new Netflix series is very good. Those who watch it (or plan to) might be interested in the true story behind it.

Ooo, I love this show. I just watched the last episode yesterday and can hardly wait for the next season. I have no idea when that begins. I'd read the true story of Piper before. Fascinating..
The page you link to also has some links (bottom left) to other interviews about the show. They are all interesting, especially the interview with the transsexual actress.

Now I want to go back and watch the other Netflix series.

I heard some interviews on NPR with people associated with this show. It sounds so good. I don't have Netflix, but am tempted to try to figure out how to get it so I can see this.

I did watch it and liked the new spin on this show. I am already sick of Christina though, she just keeps talking and talking and not letting the others talk, thought there was going to be some boxing gloves coming out there for a minute. I like Blake too and I like the ones he picked.

sleeper, thanks to your encouragement, I finished the second season last night, and I'm glad I did. Yes, angela, the end was really good. For Rosa and for Vee. Apparently there is a third season coming sometime. The show gives a lot to think about. Is that what it would really be like to be in prison? Are the guards usually that dumb? Does a minimum security prison actually allow that much freedom? I feel sorry for the administrators (except Fig) as I can imagine they are working an uphill battle with difficult inmates, hard-to-enforce regulations, limited funds, etc. The acting is terrific (especially Crazy Eyes).

I watched the entire series in 3 days last weekend. Wow. It was so good. Interesting that it was based on a true story. I didn't think I was going to like tghe show and I was pleasantly surprised.

Murraysmom, just go to Netflix.com and follow the instructions for signing up . It is simple. The first month is free. You can sign up to watch the shows on your computer or have DVDs mailed to you, or both. You can't get recent movies unless you sign up for DVDs. I just get it on my computer. I could use use an hdmi cable to watch on the tv, but if I watch on the computer I can carry it around with me (laptop).

Read the book, too. The tv series is good, but there are some significant differences between what she experienced and what is in the program. I'm not criticizing the show -- I watch and enjoy it, and Piper is listed in the credits as a consultant -- but it's good to have the insight her book provides.

Will it ever be aired on TV? I can't use NetFlix due to my interent - data caps. :(

I don't know about that, but Netflix's previous series (equally well received, I'm told), "House of Cards," is out on DVD. So we can probably expect the current one to be released at some point.

I'm not sure how these Netflix series work, though. Is "Orange...." finished, or is this just the first season?

Oh dedtired, THANK YOU SO MUCH for telling me that. I thought I had to get a blue ray DVD player and then watch it on TV.

If I can do it on my laptop, that would be fantastic.

The show has been renewed for a 2nd season. Laura Prepon (Alex Vause) will not be returning. Curious to see how they decide to write her off.
