Anything Cooking At Your House?

I have a pork roast browned with potatoes in the crock pot for supper time. I made some potato salad and gave a lot to Cheryl and I also made some apple salad. The roast smells so good cooking with onions and peppers. I will make some gravy from the broth. I will put some biscuits in the oven too this evening. Are you cooking anything today?

No one home but me today. Too hot to cook so I think I may just have a sandwich later. DH took a sandwich with him for dinner at work.

I put some chicken in the crock pot with a marinade sauce. Baking granola in the oven right now(with pecans!).

Fedco has mizuna at a very reasonable price, and if you order at least $30 worth seeds (which wasn't at all difficult for me when I saw the variety they have), shipping is free. I ordered a lot of vegetable seeds, but they have a lot of flower seeds, too, although I don't think they're the special ones some people are looking for. "Simple Recipes for Great Food", my type of cookbook, lol! The color & design of those plates are beautiful, great selection, Andi! Sue, enjoy all your goodies! This recipe looked like a simple & great (get it?) use for your pisto: For Omelets: 12 eggs Pinch of salt Pinch of freshly ground pepper 6 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 1/4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese Pisto sauce In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt and pepper until well blended. In an 8-inch nonstick frying pan or omelet pan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter. When the foam subsides, add one-sixth of the beaten eggs and immediately stir the center with the flat side of a fork. Then, with the tines of the fork, lift the edges of the omelet and tilt the pan so that any uncooked egg runs underneath the cooked portion. Vigorously slide the pan back and forth over the burner until the omelet moves freely. When the omelet is lightly cooked but still creamy in the center, mound one-sixth of the cheese over half of the omelet. Using a spatula, lift and fold the uncovered half over the filling. Slide the omelet onto a warmed individual plate and spoon some of the sauce over the top. Cover lightly with aluminum foil and keep warm while you cook the remaining omelets. Serve the omelets piping hot.

Earlier this year I bought two dressers from them. I had seen the dressers in a store while travelling, and when I got home I searched for a retailer for the furniture, and found Basista. Barnmom, I think you're right but I believe that Bobby's part of the world, there in Florida, may be more progessive than here. LOL Bobby, I don't think that when his mother is gone it will make any difference. Her cooking will just be "better" in retrospect. I would be asking her for her recipes now, if you're on speaking terms, then you can say "but it's your Mom's recipe." Annie

Just tomatoes!!!!

I have chicken pieces marinating in olive oil, garlic, prunes, garlic and capers. I'll pop it in the oven for dinner. With boiled new potatoes and broccoli I guess.

I got 15 pounds of tomatoes from my vines yesterday, plus some peppers and lots of basil, so just made sauce. Took forever, but YUM!

Boneless chicken breasts sauteed in olive oil, sprinkled at the end with chopped fresh basil, chopped fresh garlic, and lemon juice. Really good!

I'll bet all your houses smell divine. I miss those tomato days!

Nope, I've been a slug all day. I was going to make ivamae's blueberry muffins and nanacherie's fig tart today, but I just don't feel much like baking. I'm making a pot of chili for dinner because it'll get me out of the kitchen fast.

Pork tenderloin, potato salad, sliced cukes and tomatoes, and I made Glenda's Okra Casserole for the first time. It is delicious!! I have enough okra to feed a small nation and we're tired of fried okra (don't need much of that). Oh, and we're having Peach Dump Cake and iced tea, also.

I just took a "Old Fashion Peanut Butter pie" out of the oven, it smells wonderful!

Pulled pork..will have it with steamed corn on the cob and a green vegetable to be determined at the last minute :)

Waaaaaa...I wanta eat at your-alls house. I just came home from the market. It is just too hot and humid to do much cooking. If I could still grill outdoors, that would be what I'd do. I bought a small container op p.salad and I'll fry up a couple brats and heat up some beans.

No cooking today for me. Larry is still gone. I will have to get back in the groove tomorrow he'll be home.. Kinda nice not having to cook for a few days here and there..

Six dozen chocolate chip cookies and two dozen black bottom cupcakes this afternoon. We're going to Door County, WI tomorrow, up over the Mackinaw Bridge, thru the Upper Penninsula and down to Door County, about a 9 hour drive. Have 2 grands there and our DD and FSIL (only). They will be looking for some when we get there. Can't wait to get there!

A loaf of Glenda's Sour Cream Banana bread with walnuts added, chicken thighs with a lemon thyme sauce, sweet cabbage pierogies and home grown corn off the cob, YUM.

Matti5 pull up a chair and join us. We had four others for supper too. Cheryl brought her homemade apple dumplings and they were served with either milk or vanilla ice cream. I didn't do any baking this weekend. I am all finished and hope to watch Big Brother tonight.

I smashed 4 fingers (2 of them feel better today), last night so DH cooked a pasta meal for DS's g/f' b/d dinner. I had a pie in the freezer from last week, so DH baked it. He also did all the dishes.

I baked some cinnamon bread earlier today. Not from scratch though, it sure is yummy even so. :)

For dinner all I made was fried pork chops and scrambled eggs. I was going bake the pork chops with the mushroom gravy and make potatoes but then DH said he wanted them fried with eggs.

I put 2 london broil steaks in the crock pot about 4 this morning with onion,garlic,salt and pepper.We just had burritos with some of the shredded meat.I plan to make BBQ sauce for sandwiches tomorrow.Burritos were delish!

I've been in a cooking mood lately. Been watching too many cooking tv programs. Chad was home tonight so I browned some hamburger and added it to macaroni and cheese. Also had a green salad.
I topped it off with 2 store bought peanut butter cookies.
