What cellphone ring tones do you use?

I just got a new phone and it has about 10 or so built in. However many cell phones these days allow you to download others, email or record your own and use those instead. I've always done this; when MY phone rings you can never mistake it for YOUR phone.

For me:

Default ring - the sound of a regular desk phone from the '70s or earlier; you know, bells - no chirps, beeps or squeaks.

My home or kids: 3 Stooges - "Calling Dr, Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard." (this went off when I was visiting a friend in the hospital once; FUNNY!)

Text Message - the sound of the Star Trek TOS communicator

Voicemail Message - Star Trek TOS intercom tone (if you're not a trekker you may not know these)

My wife: the Darth Vader theme from Star Wars. she doesn't see the joke for some reason......

I just got a Blackberry last week but immediately went for the 70's desk phone sound. Love it. I have different alert sounds for my company mail, personal mail and Facebook updates. Haven't started assigning ringtones to people yet. Need to give that some thought.

Virtually all organic fertilizers are, Ann. Dogs LOVE the stuff. Many also like Sluggo, the iron phosphate snail bait. One of mine goes nuts when he finds the stuff. He likes it as much as he likes the snails themselves. The other one prefers any poop she finds and all the "worm jerky" out front after the rains. Takes some real effort to police the area before they're allowed out! I can't use organics out back because the animal by products attract the coyotes, bob cats, raccoons while the plant by products attract every rodent, squirrel and rabbit for miles. Those attract SNAKES and all organics encourage earth worm activity and that brings more MOLES. Danged if I do, danged if I don't! Kim

Looks like you've already decided and I'm late chiming in but I simply can't resist. I love igloochick's answer, but I think her case is just a bit different than yours. Your potter's wheel is not outdated or non-working, it's just not being used at the moment. And unless it's costing you something to keep it, I don't see any reason to let it go. My name is lowspark and I'm a pack rat. Yeah, I am. So who am I to give advice? Well the point is, if it's easy to get rid of it with no agonizing then it's time to get rid of it. But any agonizing at all means keep it. I kept my fine china from my first marriage long after I'd divorced. Why? Emotional ties -- I hardly ever used it when I was married but afterwards, I never used it. It finally came to the point where I thought about it and said, OK, I'm ready to let go. At that point, there was no decision, no hemming & hawing, no wondering if I was doing the right thing. I didn't want them anymore, done deal. I sold it all on ebay and the money I got went into my Remodel The Kitchen Fund. So, when the decision is hard, that means keep it. When it's really time to let go, if that time ever comes, you won't have to come post here, you'll just know it's ok and it will go. Good for you for making (what I think is) the right decision.

I like both of the blue paint colors, they read "masculine" and really bring out the deep jewel tones in the rug. I'm partial to the first one but I'm not sure what they look like IRL, of course. Sorry, I don't see warm tones, or pillows, or baby pictures in this room. I think a stripe in navy blue, hunter green and/or burgundy might be nice for the drapes. I think the hunting prints would be a more interesting grouping if they included one or two matted prints, maybe an old sepia tone, to change things up. I'm racking my brain trying to remember where I saw it, but a pair of round footstool/coffee tables would be more useful and practical than one of either IMO. Ditch the drapes, and the wrought iron piece (love the art poster idea). I'm not sure about the chandelier, I think I would use ivory shades. Maybe a dart game, with the appropriate cork-lined case that would open to protect the walls. A cigar cutter and ashtray on the end table. Brandy snifters and cognac on the bar. I would want a (pocket?) door installed, so that I didn't have to be disturbed by the lions den goings on, that's just me. If the man reads, he'll want a better lamp and a sturdy bookshelf, if he's a music lover, he'll need space for a stereo too.

Thank you all for the advice and tips. I do agree with you Patricia. I see a lot of yellow as well. The cabinets are more of a true white but you wouldn’t know it since the walls are an off white/creamy white. Making the yellow very abundant. We just bought the home. Just trying to paint the walls something to start. I was looking at agreeable grey or Collingwood potentially balboa mist. I like the greige. Trying to avoid a beige since I feel like the yellow will come out again but I want to complement the floors since they are so busy. Thank you

I use free ringtone sites, save them to my computer and then send them to my phone as a picture message. I'll be d.a.m.n it I pay Verizon a dime more than I'm paying right now..expecially when I don't have to! lol

I always assign ringtones that remind me of the person that's calling. My sons rington is "The Baby" by Blake Shelton..because he's my youngest child! My DD's rington is "God Blessed the Broken Road" (Rascal Flatts) because that is HER song and describes her life so well.

Different friends get different ringtones~

I have one saved that will alert me that "A b!tch" is calling..because I just know that's going to come in handy one day! lol

One sis and BIL...Picture by Kid Rock, cause we all love it.
Another sis, the theme from Greatest American Hero, cause we both adored the series and the song.
DH..Fishing in the dark, cause I always think of the night we slept on the boat up the river when I hear it.
General ring...When I Drink, just cause I get a kick out of it or Need You Now, by Lady Antebellum, cause I love the song.

Ma Bell ring for my texts, cause I can hear it.

Since I got my Droid several months ago, I've used one called 'Paradise Island' which is kind of a caribbean (sp?) type beat and pretty catchy. For text messages I use one that just says 'Droid'. I tried one that sounded like bird songs, but was forever missing texts because I thought the sound was real birds singing :-)

Oh yes many, i have a verizon ally and i'm like country bumpkin i'm not about to pay verizon. For mom it says ( your moms calling huh you better pick up) For one son in-law who just text me it's a harley sound and for the other one its a rooster crowing( yeah he's kinda cocky) I have a separate one for all family and friends. For one of my granddaughters it says It's Courtney calling i wonder what she wants. For an old friend i have the rockin oldies. At least it's not boring and i always know who's texting or calling.

I have different ringtones for different people....My husband's is from the Lady Gaga song Monster....the part that says "he ate my heart, he ate ate ate my heart.....repeats)

My txt notification is again. Lady Gaga....from Bad Romance it is "gaga oh lala" :-)

I have different rings for different people, too.

When Claude (my husband) calls, it plays, "Happy to be Stuck with You" by Huey Lewis and the News. :)

Other friends and family have songs assigned to them too - songs that remind me of them for whatever reason.

I just have one ring tone no matter who is calling. I'm too lazy to set up unique ones for different people! My ring tone is the theme music from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. I get compliments on it when it rings in public sometimes. LOL

I use the one that sounds the most like a telephone ring from
"olden days". That way there is no mistaking it and it catches my attention.

Mine is also the one that sounds like an old time phone...I myself find ringtones VERY annoying...and that "please enjoy the music while your party is reached" which us usually following by the most anoying music makes my skin crawl.. part of my job is collections, so I hear this all day long... this is just my opinion, I know many people use the ringtones and the music...but to me even music which I may have enjoyed normally sounds like crap on a cell phone..Thanks for letting me vent...this really is a pet peeve of mine..

Those are actually called "ring backs". I also hate them. My granddaughter has one on her phone. Some crazy hard rock thing!!..I also don't like music when I'm on hold. âº
