What cellphone ring tones do you use?

I just got a new phone and it has about 10 or so built in. However many cell phones these days allow you to download others, email or record your own and use those instead. I've always done this; when MY phone rings you can never mistake it for YOUR phone.

For me:

Default ring - the sound of a regular desk phone from the '70s or earlier; you know, bells - no chirps, beeps or squeaks.

My home or kids: 3 Stooges - "Calling Dr, Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard." (this went off when I was visiting a friend in the hospital once; FUNNY!)

Text Message - the sound of the Star Trek TOS communicator

Voicemail Message - Star Trek TOS intercom tone (if you're not a trekker you may not know these)

My wife: the Darth Vader theme from Star Wars. she doesn't see the joke for some reason......

I just got a Blackberry last week but immediately went for the 70's desk phone sound. Love it. I have different alert sounds for my company mail, personal mail and Facebook updates. Haven't started assigning ringtones to people yet. Need to give that some thought.

I have found some useful information on this topic on the container forum. I use a soil mix created by the a person that posts frequently on many of the forums - Al. The soil mix takes a little time to assemble the ingredients, but it works great for conifers. Al also has done some research on fertilizer and what plants really need. And it is really not as much as we like to believe. Al's 5-1-1 5 parts pine bark fines 1 part sphagnum peat (not reed or sedge peat please) 1-2 parts perlite garden lime (or gypsum in some cases) controlled release fertilizer (if preferred) micro-nutrient powder, other continued source of micro-nutrients, or fertilizer with all nutrients - including minors "Al's Gritty Mix" - Google search and you will find the ingredients for Al's other mix. Both mixes work great! Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro 9-3-6. ALL the primary macro-nutrients, secondary macro-nutrients (Ca, Mg, S) and all the micro-nutrients. It performed very well for me. Consider an induction burner. There are several manufacturers and there is a thread on this forum about refurbished viking single burners at a reasonable price. I have a single burner induction cooktop and I use it to make Shabu Shabu at the dining table and also use it to stir fry stuff when I am cooking for too many people at one time. It will be useful after your remodel too. Suppentown, Burton etc all make induction single burner rings. Cooktek is more expensive but make a great unit used by restaurants. Good luck!

My ex wore his ring to work one day- a no no for plumbers- and he thinks it fell down the drain in the back of Safeway. Whatever. I gave my band that matched his to my bro. They disliked each other so bro and I thought it would be funny. Bro used it to go to bars in San Fran. He would use it if creepy guys tried to hit on him. He lost it after putting it in the pocket of his Member's Only coat. Yes it was 1986. I kept the engagement ring and took the 1/4 stone out and some emeralds from an antique ring I purchased while married and on my 21st birthday made myself a ring to celebrate my divorce. I still wear it and my dh of 20 years does not care. I still have the setting and was told it would be worth not a lot because it was a mix of white and yellow gold. My husband was married before also. His ring cracked just after he learned she was having an affair with one of his old friends from school. We still have it. I could probably take the two, along with my gold crown I had removed and make at least a few dollars, ya think? I did keep one item and still have it. For our first anniversary I went to an antique store and purchased an Elgin 5 ruby pocketwatch guts and had it set into a gold case. It was really cool. I had engraved "for all of time" on the back. He never really appreciated it or me so I kept it when I left him. He understood. I paid $50 and had to save every dime to buy it. He gave me a little heart ring with a chip in it. I still have it too. Thought of giving it to my dd but I think I would rather sell it and buy her something else. I took watch to an appraisal show in town a few years ago. They told me it was worth about $300 and that they would buy it but really suggested I hang onto it as it would appreciate a lot. Even if I sold the case separate from the guts, the guts were pretty unique. They said it was still valuable even with the engraving. I still have it and will probably get around to selling it. Should take it in again just to see. There are not a lot of master watchmakers around these days but there are a few in town that are reputable.

I'm weird, I guess - I rarely wear my ring. DH and I were "shacking up" at the time, and one day I told him in no uncertain terms that if I was to keep living with him, I ought to at least have an engagement ring, for heaven's sake. He agreed. We were poor folks, and I had a credit card, so we shopped and put my engagement ring on my credit card. Romantic, huh? We bought the kind that fit into the wedding ring, which we bought at the same time, but he kept that in a box in his dresser. The engagement ring had one "big" diamond and one "small" diamond, and the wedding ring had the other "small" diamond to mirror the engagement ring. They're not worth more than $200 all together, but who cares? I'm not a materialistic person. We've got diamonds and rings. About 2 years later, we had a modest, but very nice wedding. I got the two rings soldered together. We bought a plain gold band for him. He wears his every day, and after these 9 years, he can't take it off without a lot of effort and hasn't really tried. I got out of the habit of wearing mine during my 1st pregnancy when my hands swelled. I bought a plain gold band to wear instead, and would wear it as a wedding ring now (it'd have to be re-sized) but he says no, it's not our wedding ring. I find the diamond stuff gets in the way, and I only wear it when I go out somewhere special or care that people see that ring on my finger. As I said, I'm not a materialistic person. We could afford to get bigger diamonds now, I guess, but who cares? Why spend all that money on a freakin' rock?

Plain old default ring for everything.....I just don't like all the songs, etc.
A phone is a phone...I think it should sound like one.

I use free ringtone sites, save them to my computer and then send them to my phone as a picture message. I'll be d.a.m.n it I pay Verizon a dime more than I'm paying right now..expecially when I don't have to! lol

I always assign ringtones that remind me of the person that's calling. My sons rington is "The Baby" by Blake Shelton..because he's my youngest child! My DD's rington is "God Blessed the Broken Road" (Rascal Flatts) because that is HER song and describes her life so well.

Different friends get different ringtones~

I have one saved that will alert me that "A b!tch" is calling..because I just know that's going to come in handy one day! lol

One sis and BIL...Picture by Kid Rock, cause we all love it.
Another sis, the theme from Greatest American Hero, cause we both adored the series and the song.
DH..Fishing in the dark, cause I always think of the night we slept on the boat up the river when I hear it.
General ring...When I Drink, just cause I get a kick out of it or Need You Now, by Lady Antebellum, cause I love the song.

Ma Bell ring for my texts, cause I can hear it.

Since I got my Droid several months ago, I've used one called 'Paradise Island' which is kind of a caribbean (sp?) type beat and pretty catchy. For text messages I use one that just says 'Droid'. I tried one that sounded like bird songs, but was forever missing texts because I thought the sound was real birds singing :-)

Oh yes many, i have a verizon ally and i'm like country bumpkin i'm not about to pay verizon. For mom it says ( your moms calling huh you better pick up) For one son in-law who just text me it's a harley sound and for the other one its a rooster crowing( yeah he's kinda cocky) I have a separate one for all family and friends. For one of my granddaughters it says It's Courtney calling i wonder what she wants. For an old friend i have the rockin oldies. At least it's not boring and i always know who's texting or calling.

I have different ringtones for different people....My husband's is from the Lady Gaga song Monster....the part that says "he ate my heart, he ate ate ate my heart.....repeats)

My txt notification is again. Lady Gaga....from Bad Romance it is "gaga oh lala" :-)

I have different rings for different people, too.

When Claude (my husband) calls, it plays, "Happy to be Stuck with You" by Huey Lewis and the News. :)

Other friends and family have songs assigned to them too - songs that remind me of them for whatever reason.

I just have one ring tone no matter who is calling. I'm too lazy to set up unique ones for different people! My ring tone is the theme music from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. I get compliments on it when it rings in public sometimes. LOL

I use the one that sounds the most like a telephone ring from
"olden days". That way there is no mistaking it and it catches my attention.

Mine is also the one that sounds like an old time phone...I myself find ringtones VERY annoying...and that "please enjoy the music while your party is reached" which us usually following by the most anoying music makes my skin crawl.. part of my job is collections, so I hear this all day long... this is just my opinion, I know many people use the ringtones and the music...but to me even music which I may have enjoyed normally sounds like crap on a cell phone..Thanks for letting me vent...this really is a pet peeve of mine..

Those are actually called "ring backs". I also hate them. My granddaughter has one on her phone. Some crazy hard rock thing!!..I also don't like music when I'm on hold. âº
