I think I do, but some say I don't. I am not too wrinkled! I think sometimes I feel older than my age of 74.

I used to always fool people because I'm older than I looked. But after this year's cancer episode, I think I've aged a LOT.

Am in my 50's, but have actually gotten into arguments with people who insist I'm lying, that I can't be more than in my 30's???? I don't get that--I don't think I look 30-something, but that's happened several times.

Feel my age? Not generally. But maybe today, I do. Just got the cast off my ankle last night. Couldn't resist the freedom of finally being able to drive, and went out to a half dozen different stores. Might have overdone it just a little and am feeling a little achy and gimpy. But that will pass. By next week, I'll probably be back to running around the way I usually do.

I'm 61 and people say I don't look it. But, boy, my knees feel like they are 91!!

Bigack, sometimes I see my mom in the mirror but I see my dad every time I look at my hands. BTW, I love the pink flamingo and petunias in the picture thread!!

I've always looked younger than my age because I'm short and (until lately) petite. Don't think that's true any longer, though.

I'll be the big 5-0 a week from today and people can't believe I'm going to be 50 - I can't either. I'm told I look very early 40s. As for feeling 50, my mind mentality is that of a spring chicken but the aches and pains remind me that I'm not!

As for my big birthday, I'm going skydiving (again). It'll be DH's first time. I did it for my 35th too. WooHoo.

Patti, my hands have been like my father's for ages. Mom had lovely long, tapered, slim fingers and dad's were square-topped with wrinkly knuckles. Just my luck!

I'm turning 50 very very soon... I think if I look my age depends on who I'm standing next to. I have a couple friends who are a bit younger than me, but they have a lot more wrinkles and sun damage.. so I think I look younger than them. I know others who look great for their age... so I don't stand next to them. lol

Do I feel my age? No, I feel older. Seriously I know 60 and 70 year olds who can run circles around me. That's the hypothyroidism and my other hormonal ailments though.

I'll be 65 in October. No, I don't think I look that old. At least to myself I don't. I don't know what other people think I look. Most times I don't feel it either.

I am 67 but no one believes me. I am told I look at least 10 years younger. Most days I don't feel my age, other times I do.

I'm sure I probably look my age and some days I feel like it physically, but I am a kid at heart!

How old is anyone supposed to look at a certain age?

People tell me I don't look my age; even my doctor says I don't.

The CT spinal scan looks like a bowl of vegetable soup with numbers thrown in, and walking, standing, and bending over remind me that the left knee replacement will be 15 years old in November, the right one was 5 last month, every joint is stiff and creaky, Cataract surgery went bad and so vision in that eye is 20/70 on a good day. I don't have to look in the mirror to know how old I look. I know people older than I am, and they still get around fine, still garden etc. I am NOT ready to be this old!! I don't feel my age, except physically, if that makes sense. Just comments, not complaints though. My favorite pastime is visiting and talking with family, friends, and neighbors, and I enjoy humor and making other folks laugh.

Some days I feel my age and some days I feel much younger. But most people seem to think I look younger than my age.

I'm 58. Just starting realize I'm getting older and some days I do feel it. I just found out I'm hypothyroid though so hopefully once the meds are the right dosage it will be easier to take off the added pounds and I won't be as achy. At least I hope so. In the past 10 pounds could make the difference on how my knees,feet and back felt in the morning.

I would have to say I don't look my age. People are always surprised when I tell them. Even much younger people.

When I'm dressed I don't look my age but naked I sure do. LOL

Minnie, of course the sun can have something to do with how you look. Sun damage can age the face very quickly. It can cause freckles, sun spots, wrinkles and dry skin or roughness.

A little sun is good, just not too much. I have a friend who lays out by her pool without sunscreen every day during the summer. It has definately aged her.

I think I look younger than my true age, 57. I had two kids when I was 35 and 36, running after them kept me young, and school meetings with the younger moms sure helped. For example, two years ago I went into the hospital for some tests. As I laid on the bed waiting for my MRI, the technician kept looking at me and my chart.She said "I think I have the wrong patient. This says 1952, you can't be 55." We had a good laugh, I told her I was 55 and she said I looked 45. Made me feel very,very good!

both dh and i have been taken for younger than his 61 and i, at 63...

When I was young, I looked older than I was, because I am tall. As an adult, I've always looked younger, probably because I have very fair skin and take care to stay out of the sun. I always like it at the doctor's office, when the receptionist says that they misprinted my age!

As to whether I feel my age, that depends. I have Addison's disease (nearly died from it a few times), am hypothyroid, and have serious cardiac arrhythmias (nearly died from them, too), so I'm often tired, which makes me feel older than I am. But sometimes, when I ride bikes with Chloe and we race down a hill screaming into the wind, I feel young and alive. Laughing makes me feel young.

Wildchild,I have also reached the age that I look better with clothes on then off!! LOL!!!

I'm told I don't look my age-49 but I certainly feel it with the arthritis I have. I also feel older, just losing Glen and my Dmom within the past 6 months.

Wildchild, you make me laugh! I think a lot of us feel that way about clothed/naked.

Well, all I can say is that there are a whole lot of very lucky people responding to this post. I'll bet at least 90% of you (if not more) said that you don't look your age or that other people tell you that you don't.

I, for one, definitely looked my age. In fact, I looked older than my age by close to 10 years. Well, I took care of that little problem and now I look at least 8 years younger than the 64 that I am. If someone can just figure out how to slow down the arthritis that is becoming noticeable in my knees, I would sincerely appreciate it.

I feel so much younger than my 60 years and am often surprised when I realize I'm the oldest person in a gathering. My knees do feel it, though. It doesn't seem that long ago that I could rise from a sitting position on the floor without using my hands. Now I practically have to get on my hands and knees first, accompanied by groaning, grunting, and creaking.

Anyone remember the movie "Marty" with Ernest Borgenine? There's a part where the two sisters are talking and the older one is lamenting how her life is over at 57 and she's just waiting to die. I about did a comic spit when I heard that, being 58 and all. Times really do change. I mean how old was Auntie Em supposed to be in the Wizard of Oz? Ma Joad in Grapes of Wrath? The mom of the soldier returning home in "The Best Years of Our Lives"? They looked old.
That said, because both my kids will be off at college and I no longer will be hanging out at High School, I'm betting I'll fell older this year. "sigh"

coffeemom I know exactly whay you mean. That widowed sister on "Marty" who said she was 57. Yikes! I'm 62 and I look younger than that. Of course I'm thankful we don't have to dress, wear our hair, no makeup etc. the same these days. My grandmother was 61 when I was born. Wore her long hair in a bun, wore dresses only, black lace up shoes ( I think they may be back in style now) of course no makeup, well if I dressed like that I'd look older too.
I hoped, when I was a kid, that the older I got the wiser and more intelligent I'd be. Don't feel it's quite worked out that way though.

Me, I am 55, and feel I look just fine for 55. Most people don't believe me that I have girls in their 30's, nor my age. Sometimes I am like MaryAnn, and feel lots younger than I am, and other times I am tired, and think I am getting old.

My arthritic joints feel older than the rest of me.

I'm 54 and I feel old. It's my attitude and I know it's not a good one. I used to look a lot younger than my age. Ever since I went Hypothyroid I have noticed I'm aging a lot faster. I have an appointment with an eye doctor on Monday. Just in the last few months my upper lids have drooped. My eyes seem swollen and watery and they are always red. I'm hoping it's allergies but this just came about recently. It could be Thyroid.
I saw Christie Brinkly on T.V. the other day. She is 55 and looks like she's 30. I try to keep a mental picture of her in my mind. Whenever I'm feeling old I think of her and tell myself, "If Christie can look young so can I".
Yesterday I was shopping for a face primer in Sephora. A young salesgirl tells me, "here try this, my mom uses it and loves that it covers fine lines and wrinkles". That didn't help at all.
