Interesting topic. I think we all have reoccuring dreams. I have never been able to use a phone.

I seem to remember that dreams about teeth may have to with concerns about aging. I have no idea what fingernails mean!

I think my dream was directly related to this. I think it was a purely practical dream. :-)

I too, used to dream about my teeth falling out until I got serious about health concerns. As a young woman I would dream about snakes I won't even tell you what I figured out they were about. Suffice it to say, they stopped when I got married.I would also have recurring dreams about driving into a creek bed and my car slowly filling with water scary but they have stopped now. I would love to have a flying dream again.Those left me feeling wonderful in the morning.

I dream about not having a bottle of super glue when I need it. :-) Seriously.

I had a dream this weekend in fact....about a meat packing plant. I think I may have an inner need/desire to be a vegetarian.....:0)

I dreamed my teeth were falling out. When I got up that morning made appointment for a dental cleaning, which was overdue.

Long ago I dreamed my teeth were getting loose. I was told that these dreams were related to feelings of powerlessness.

Don't know if your fingernail dreams have the same cause, but -- claim your power, friend!

I have had that tooth falling out dream many times over the years, I can see that it could be to feeling powerless. Haven't had the dreams in some time, a good thing.

I've had one reoccuring dream for the past 25+ years. In the dream I am in high school, at my locker and can't remember the combination, so I get really panicked and then I wake up. I have this dream every few months. I wish I knew what the heck it meant lol

I can never remember my dreams... wonder what that means. I think in my entire life I have had two dreams which I remember and they were both as a child.

Well, here I am at work, and when I pulled a book off the shelf a nail popped off along with it. So I guess my dream was prophetic! :-)

Thanks to being forewarned by Jodi and Liz, I had a bottle of glue in my purse. So I'm back to wearing all ten.......for now.

When I last had peridontal surgery in 1995, I had a dream in the midst of it. I remember dreaming that one of my teeth was oozing some green thickish liquid. I was happy to wake up as it came a little too close to a nightmare.

I either don't dream much---or don't much remember my dreams.

Lindakathy--I have the same recurring dream, usually when I'm stressed. I also have the can't-remember-my-locker-combo or class-schedule-dream.

i almost never remember my dreams. my dh often has the teeth falling out dream. he is of English/Brazil heritage and inherited their bad teeth so has had alot of tooth work and still needs alot of cosmetic tooth work. he always attributes his dreams to these problems but i think it's deeper than just that. not sure what it is but something along self esteem lines i'm guessing like glenda's list. ~ liz

I haven't had the teeth falling out dream in a long time, but used to have it often. I also have had the dream I was late for school. Somehow I could see the school clock and it was ticking away and and I couldn't run. Then I'd start to crawl. Haven't had that dream lately either, thank heavens.

Now that you bring this topic up - I realize that either I'm not dreaming as frequently as I did when younger - or that they're less memorable or what's more likely - I'm just as forgetful when I sleep as when I'm awake.

I have had the teeth dream for years. In my dream,I am brushing and they crumble. I also have had two others that bother me .I am usuing an old rotary phone and when I try to dial,the thing goes around and wont hit the "stopper" so I can tell where the next number is supposed to be. The other is driving and my brakes wont work,and it goes skower and slower but never quite stops. Also am sometimes driving backwards at a high speed.Scary!!!!
A suggestion....if you have dreams that are strenuous(someone mentioned crawling) you may have sleep apnea. I had dreams where I was trying to climb huge hills or straining to do something and would wake up exhausted.Since i got my C pap machine I never have those.

I've had the 'teeth falling out' dreams when I am stressed. I think the first ones came when my mother was dying of leukemia I was sorrowful, stressed, powerless. My teeth don't hurt, they are just loose in my mouth and I'm spitting them out -- many more teeth than I actually have! There's a feeling of dismay, that this will go on and on.

I sometimes dream that I am driving, but realize I am not in the driver's seat. I'm leaning over from the back seat. I can steer, but I can't accelerate or brake! This is even worse when I'm dream-driving my old Healey -- can't use the clutch to shift gears. (This is another 'not in control' dream.)

I've had dreams about my teeth falling out...not in a long time though, and I used to dream about being late for class and not having studied for a test or have my homework ready.
Have even had the dream of being somewhere and being naked.
I haven't had any of these dreams in a long time.

I had the teeth loose/falling out dreams for years. They ended when I started to date my husband. I had read that it meant losing power or having no control over your life.

Susan -- Is it safe to keep artificial nails on ALL the TIME? Won't your own nails be affected?

The teeth dream was not one I like to have, but you dream analyzers..work on this dream I had this morning just as I awoke so I remember it. I was heading to a party dressed up but I had clips in my hair(?). I went to a house I don't recognize, and there was a big dinner happening with many people around the table. I only focused on three of them, my two aunts and my mother who were sisters. Mother died 9 years ago and one aunt, my favorite aunt, 5 years ago and the youngest one is still alive at 93. The middle sister ,my fav ,was eccentric and maybe bi polar and was a recluse her last decade and a half w/ her husband. No one saw them. They had no children. When they became ill my cousin and I took charge and were co executors of their estates and they died almost 2 years later with in two days of each other. In the dream I said to my mother was was laughing and smiling like she did when she was young and never in her later years.."how did you get the aunt to the dinner?" and Mother said she just knocked on her door and invited her. It was a happy occasion and the last scene before I woke up was me hugging my aunt. I had tears in my eyes when I awoke..Weird, huh?

Lily, I can tell you this: Whenever a dream of mine involves a hug--usually a hug with a lot of feeling--it's a dream visit from someone who has passed away. I have ordinary dreams about these people, too, but the visits are unmistakable. And they often include a hug.

Lindakathy--I have the same recurring dream about not being able to use the phone when I really need to. I get horribly upset about it! I also occasionally have the typical school dream too.

I have so many dreams every night and I'm able to remember some of them, but usually only for a day or two. Some are great, fun, I wake up laughing. Some are scary and I wake up in a sweat. And some are just so frustrating. I have one recurring one where I'm driving a long distance. I know where I'm going and how to get there, but I can't remember how to get there as I'm driving and I get detoured all over and not lost, but anxious.

I love when I dream about my late pets. Usually I wake up feeling good, like we were together again. Sometimes, though, I wake up crying.

I believe and hope that is true, Susan. It was so real to me. I think it was my mother and her deceased sister, because although there were at least six other people in the dream , I couldn't tell you who they were. Never even looked at them.

Chisue, I meant to answer this earlier. I'm really not sure of the answer, but since Jodi and Liz have worn them for years, I'm guessing I'm not taking much of a risk by wearing them temporarily.

They are a bit addictive, though. I was planning to take them off soon now that my own nails have grown enough so I've been able to cut off most of the damaged area, but I have parties coming up this weekend and the following, so I think I'll be putting on a new set "one more time." And then we'll see what happens after that. :-)

I'd love to find a good reliable website that explains what certain recurring dreams mean, if there is such a thing. For years and years I used to have a recurring dream that someone, a male whose face I couldn't see, was chasing me to kill me. In the dream I would run and run and hide wherever I could. Sometimes I would be naked or just in my underwear. It was terrifying, to say the least. I was in a bad marriage at the time, so that may have been the reason, I don't know.
Now every few months I have a bad dream that I am driving a car on a winding mountain road and suddenly realize that I'm going too fast to make it around the next curve. I wake up just as my car is going off the road. Come to think of it, if I remember a dream it's usually a bad one...
Thankfully I rarely have dreams any more.

Me too, teeth falling out. Haven't had it for a while, it's just strange. Also had one, recurring that I messed up something that I didn't take the right classes in High School and have to go back for another year and it's taking years to finish my classes. Just weird and unpleasant. Another one, my brother (about 5 yrs old at the time) got bite by a lost little dog and we caught it and kept in garage until someone could pick it up, this really happened. But in my dream it's a weird green alien dog.
